But Why though? MSFS is supposed to be for civil aviation and not a  Warzone.

I guess you missed this quote:

"I've always felt a ting of guilt about combat flight sims.  IMO making entertainment from something that IRL caused such great suffering (but was something that was unfortunately necessary) seems, in a way, somewhat immoral.

It always helps to read a topic before you reply. 😉

The IL-2 fflight dynamics model, as I once had the chance to read about with some ( not many ) details, shares a good deal with XP and MFS approaches to FDM. But, it makes a whole lot of a difference when someone who is really familiar with aerodynamics engineering creates something with soundness and as complete as possible within the limitations of nowadays desktop flight simulation.

Yeah, this is probably the difference between MSFS and XP. While MSFS is technically on par, it lacks experienced adjusting.

Happy with MSFS 🙂
home simming evolved

Yeah ok turn MSFS into X-Plane, P3D Ills or whatever and watch the number of users drop. Anyone taking aviation very serious would not use any of these programs anyways. Just stop it.

Unfortunately, their low budget is showing in their respective product and it’s quite disappointing

Ummm....From what I read, the guy is really good at developing accurate flight models. A good FM is good for warbirds, jets, tubeliners, bi-planes, turboprops.....I think you get my point.

What are you actually on about or upset about?  That statement ^^^  doesn't even make sense.   So no one taking aviation seriously would use X-Plane, P3D, IL2 which you clearly haven't used if you can't get the name right?

And how is taking someone with immense flightsim development experience and bringing them to Asobo/MS "turning MSFS" into anything?  Maybe he is there to fit into their model and help them improve key areas of the sim he has years of experience in...

Honestly, what are you actually upset or arguing about from such a positive announcement?  Like you said, "just stop it... "

Can they fix the CTD's and make the sim more stable.?

Again, listen to your own advice and Just stop it...

Maybe they can/maybe they can't but to try and turn this into a negative is absurd.  You keep staring at the window and shaking your hand at the reflection shaking it's hand at you...  Because that's the image I see of you in my head right now LOL... Talk about negative thinking, I mean to see this announcement and go straight to how it's bad is just beyond me....

Been there and done that. I'm in pretty good shape for my age.

They do this all the time.

Recently, I've seen relatively few complaints about CTDs (outside of beta testing), but many requests to improve aspects of the flight model. And this is where Andrey's expertise lies, tuning flight models, and implementing the necessary physics so they feel right. But apparently to you everything that doesn't say "fixing CTDs" is bad news, right?

BTW, concerning your "Warzone" comment:

Andrey Petrovich on the IL2 forum (https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/80307-see-you-pilots/page/3/#comment-1213185 ) : "Perhaps for someone on this forum my words will seem inappropriate, but I have always perceived the combat use of an aircraft as a weapon carrier as something imposed, unnecessary, forced and wrong. Therefore, in simulators, I perceived air combat more like a kind of sporting event: who "overflies" whom. Taking war, destruction, and death out of the equation. Recently, this whole gamma of feelings has acquired new colors, and perception has become sharper.

Therefore, to a certain extent, I am glad that I am returning, one might say, to the origins of my interest and love for aviation, not burdened with weapons and military topics."

In your Warzone comment you were just complaining without having a slightest clue what you're talking about.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

If this was my football team then I'd declare this "a brilliant signing", bags of experience, obviously knows his stuff very well and he'll certainly help push MSFS physics into the future.

Asobo need more signings like this in certain aspects (VR 👀) to help move the entire stimulation forwards, and by that I don't just mean aviation.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Petrovich os well known also for his Nice "aerobatics flown in il2" videos...

Will we finally be able to get plausible stalls and spins like mine of our civil flightsims do ? Or "Simple" sideslip maneuvers ?
