PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Not sure if this belongs here or somewhere else, but I am experiencing the same problem with poor landing performance with the new PMDG B747-400 v3 and the B747-8 v3 aircraft as other pilots. As a result I replaced the B747-400_PW.AIR file with one from a previous package for B747-400X DVD that I had on hand. The file names are different so I modiied the name but the airplane doesn't seem to mind. It definitely lands better and I am satisfied this is good. Now I want to do the same thing with the B747-8i but I see the file size is different and am relunctant to do more. HI I have just done a rebuild of my system and a fresh install of P3D v4.5. I have installed QOS II and when i select any varient from the scenario screen in P3D the sim freezes, the sim asks me if i want to close the sim and regardless of selection crashes back to desktop. It only happens with QOS II - All other products start ok. I have the latest version as checked in the PMDG Ops centre. Please help. Daz

I am experiencing an intermittent problem on take off (and once or twice on landing). When I am halfway through the rotation, the runway suddenly "jumps up at me", resulting in the aircraft being level again (with all wheels on the runway). The worst part about this is that the trim is reset to (presumably) default at the same time!! Is this a graphics/mesh loading problem? It only seems to affect the 747 (I have never experienced it with the 737, or any other aircraft). Has anyone else suffered from this? I'm looking for a repaint livery of the VC-25, either 28000 or 29000 for the QotSII. I am aware of the repaint by Nathan Mccassey, but that happens to be of a different variant, obviously. I know the VC-25 is actually modified from a 742, but I'm looking for something along the lines of the repaint from the original QotS. That was made with the freighter variant of the 744. This variant had the shorter hump along with the omission of the extra passenger doors. If the windows can be matched also, that would be great. If anybody is able to do this that would be amazing. Not sure if this has been posted before since I could not find it anywhere, so let me know where to it is. I flew into EDDF yesterday with my PMDG B747-8 and noticed RAAS was confused on what runway I was pointed at. It announced "approaching runway..." and that's all it said. Today I ran MakeRwys.exe again and when the app finished a message indicating it had finished I could not find any of the files it is supposed to make. I know this has worked in the past but now RAAS doesn't seem to work at all. A complication may be that I log on to my computer with my Microsoft account and the support files for FSX are stored with that logon. I searched Appdata on the …

Hi there I have some issues with the PMDG 747-8F in St Maarten Int. Airport it's: 1- rain inside the cockpit. How can I fix it. 2- prepar3f crash every time when i toke off after 10-15 min 3- Landing, taxi and logo lights are too dim. Hello. Normally I have auto step climb enabled and noticed that FMC wants to climb higher then optimal level. For example Right now I cruise at FL340, Opt alt is FL351, maximum FL391 and using LRC and step size 2000 but FMC tells me to clime to FL360 though optimal altitude is FL351.

So I was in a peaceful cruise over Oklahoma when I got a low fuel quantity warning, I used to get those quite a bit in the 737 and 777 but in those cases I still had enough; and I checked the fuel page, 41 tons of fuel left. Then the EICAS practically turned amber with a flood of warnings, Engine 2 and 3 failure. Quickly I pulled up the QRH and shut off the fuel flow to the affected engines. I am wondering if you advise to solve this basic problem 747-400 FMC has its own mind It is not asking me any more , FMC, now using KG, not LBS. How can I switch back to LBS😉 THX I found the reason why unit calculation switched to KILO. I selected " AirAtlanta Icelandic liveries" , FMC Fuel unit weight calculations was programed based on European unit standard KILO . So I was keep getting Kilo.. 🙂

I've got the "issue" on the 747 and P3D V4.5, that the metal surfaces of the leading edge of the wing and the leading edge of the engine nacelle appear to be almost full black when they are not directly shined on by the sun. Strange thing is, I don't have this weird black texture on any other aicraft (default P3D ones and other payware aircraft like the PMDG 737): Using the Tomatoshade Dynamic Reflection Maker, I tried two different 747 reflection profiles and I tried it without any profiles at all too. I am using FSX Steam edition on a relatively new computer Alienware R7 with a Windows 10 and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 video card. I can load everything and after following tutorial I am able to take off and go on my way. I have tried different flights through the Atlantic and for some reason everything goes well until suddenly start to slow down. It is mid air over the Atlantic and I don't think that its scenery fps related so I am not sure what is the problem or worse how to solve it. Please advice maybe there is something that I am doing incorrect

Kyle’s excellent differences video is a great introduction to the differences between the 744 and 748, but there is no manual us users can refer to to get a bit more detail. For example, the different fuel tank sizes, the revised fuel system logic. Kyle’s video refers to the different logic for the seat belt switch but doesn’t say what it is. A 747-8 Differences Manual would be very helpful to users who want to understand this in detail. Is there any possibility that PMDG might produce one?

Hello Folks: When calculating my VREF speed, the EFB and FMS have displayed two different VREF speeds. Today, the EFB was showing a VREF of 166 while the FMS was saying 145. I copied the data from the FMS to the EFB but I couldn't get the two figures to agree. I know...I must be doing something wrong. Thanks.

Hi all, I was flying VHHX-RJBB this morning in the 744, and descended through some heavy weather into my destination. As I deployed Flaps 1 at the start of my approch to 6R however, I got a sim-hang that lasted about 20 seconds before the whole thing quit to the desktop. Nothing shows up in Event Viewer to recognise the crash. I've done a bit of detective-work and have two files which may identify the source of the problem. I´m having a few issues here and I´d be happy for assistance. 1.) when performing the D-Link login during preflight everything works fine, a few moments later the D-Link is active/online ( "*DLINK ACT" ) and all functions ( RTE Requests / RTE winds / etc ) are available. What´s missing is the Chime-Tone and the associated EICAS message as described in the PMDG introduction manual on Page 170. 2.) there is no RAAS entry in the P3D v4.5 "Addons-Menu". So I can´t set it up and it´s not working either. In the PMDG FMC Options Menu it is set to "RAAS installed ON". 3.) I can´t get no Flare tones. I haven't painted the Queen in awhile and while I was playing with my fictional QW 787-9 Freighter I did a Northwest paint and liked it so much I figured I'd throw it on the ole'girl. Not to shabby I think. Sending it off to be looked over by some peeps but hopefully will have it uploaded not to long after.

Hi , Recently, I had installed 747-8i Add-on to PMDG 747 QOS II. When set-up the equipment, I had selected ADF to be installed. However, it is not on the cockpit. In addition, I am running vpilot and the radio transmit button is not working on vpilot. I am running v3.00.9431. Is there a fix for the above? Thanks. Chris.

Just an observation on my part but one which surprised me is that, on the ground at the default airfield of Eglin AFB in P3D v4.4, the 747-8 has up to 10 frames more than the 747-400. The cockpit settings are exactly the same in both aircraft. Does anyone have any words of wisdom to explain this phenomenon? Personally I might have expected less frames with the 747-8 than the 747-400 on account of its sophistication comparatively.

Yesterday I installed P3Dv4 hotfix 1, and FSUIPC update 5.103. Today I flew my first flight in the 747 since the updates and all went well until touchdown. I had autobrake 1 selected for landing on WSSS rwy 2C. The autobrakes engaged properly and everything went well until I initiated manual braking, at which time the manual brakes "stuck" on full with the the red brake text displayed in the lower left. The aircraft stopped abruptly on the runway, and couldn't be moved until I disabled the brake button in FSUIPC (I'm using a side joystick for rudder and the brakes are assigned to the trigger button) and then reassigned it.
