PrecipitFX Support

I just bought PrecipitFX and when I go to install I get the message :Application cannot be started.Contact the appliction vendor. What is the problem?

Just purchased Immersion for P3D. Already have Precipitfx. Installed Immersion. Haven't used it yet. When I reinstalled Precipitfx, both FSX and P3D were checked. I unchecked FSX, as it is not on my computer. Looks as though I have stock precipitation. Furthermore, when I select light rain, there is nothing. P3D is latest hotfix. Windows 7 64 bit. Special Effects detail is to max. Special effects distance is medium. Created my own migration tool. All files, registry keys and links pointing to FSX; are deleted. Downloaded latest installer. Uninstalled and reinstalled Precipitfx. P3D is installed on a separate drive. There appear to be 4 files in effects and 8 fil…

I recently bought and installed PrecipitFX not too long ago. I ran into an issue which seems to not recognize its on a runway for some reason. Whenever I throttle up to try and call the effects in a weather storm, I have no effects! When I go to TNCM though or even to the KLAS Airport from FSDreamteam, I do see the effects. Its weird, its only at KLAX for some reason. Could there be an issue with KLAX? I am also using Socal Scenery by Megascenery, is there something I can do to actually make the effects run on that particular airport?

Hi All, Since a week I run PrecipitFX on my Prep3Dv2.4 installation. However, despite what I read in other messages, my contrails do display rather "pale". Is there a way I can improve this? My attempt to attach a screenshot unfortunately failed Thanks, Hans

Guys, I'm sure this issue is on my side, I have contrails flicker, either left or right side, happens with 777 immersion, and PercipitFX. Is there any workaround to prevent this? Thanks

Not a really big deal but I noticed that I was not getting any rain or snow in certain weather situations where it should have been present. Ultimately tracked it down to the fact that Precip effects was unchecked in the program. After installing the prior update, I KNOW it was checked. Just wondering how it could become unchecked without my action. P3D 2.5++ Vic

I updated precipitfx on 1.309 and now contrail does not appear anymore on user aircraft on fsx acceleration it appears on ai aircrafts!!!!! someone could help me please?

I bought the package at simmarket and it requires I create an account at the developers web site, but though I follow the protocol of 8 characters min and caps and numbers I keep getting rejected for not following this protocol. Could anyone here advise me how to fix this. I have tried creating account on 3 different computers, all with the same results.

Hello, Many people, including myself, are delaying the full reinstall required to upgrade to P3D 2.5 until all of the 3rd party software we use (such as scenery, etc.) is fully updated to work properly. We're also giving LM a chance to get 2.5 working as intended, allowing the "hotfix" period to wind down. The 1.3.0 release notes state that when I next launch the config program, it will automatically update to place files in the new changed P3D 2.5 folder system. Since I'm sticking with 2.4 at the moment, will it screw up the install, and cause it to no longer work ? Should I avoid launching the configurator, and hope for the best ? Thank you in advanc…

Hello Guys! Have to confess I'm not a PrecipitFX customer (yet) but I'm certainly interested for the modest price. I have a quick question though... Does the package enhance the existing FSX touchdown tire smoke effects? As far as I can tell from the website and video, it doesn't. If this is indeed the case, is there any chance that this is something that would be considered for a future update? Maybe I'm a bit of a narcissist, but I tend to watch my landings using the replay function from time-to-time. Typically I fly GA stuff, and I've always noticed that the default FSX "fx_tchdwn_s.fx" effect is a bit odd. Specifically, the puff of smoke generated on tyre …

When I installed precipitfx the user guide appeared and I closed it without reading it. Does anyone know where I can find it - I have looked but found nothing.

Hi, I have reinstalled my system several times this month and now I am unable to install PrecipitFX. I have reached max number of activations. I tried to reset the activations in my account - and get this message: You can only reset activations for this product once every 30 days. So now I have to wait for a month to use this product I paid for? Thank you, Rene

Will the rain and snow effects work over the already installed REX 3 Essentials plus Overdrive rain and snow textures? Thee REX variants are really poor in quality compared to these.

Hi, I observed that there aren’t wheel effects on rain when I flight PMDG JS4100, but in PMDG777 they are. Checked in the same weather conditions and the same airport and runway. Is it possible? Maybe it depends on aircraft weight? Lucas

Hi, have the latest ver 1.2.0.11 installed and can't get P3D to show the effects that are available with precipiyfx. It shows the default rain and snow. I have tried un installing and the re installing to no avail. I have tried this with the weather themes in P3D and with ASN it just crashes the sim. Any help would be appreciated. When I run the installer it does everything it should. When I check rescan for aircraft, the little blue bar does its thing and the installer working but greyed out. There is another message that says precipit fx installer task has completed. The installer still says woeking with the little blue bar going around and around. The only way to stop…

I'm trying to purchase PrecipitFX. When I go to the web page http://fsfx.oldprop.com/, all of the links work, except the ones necessary to actually download and purchase the package. If I click on "Manage Your Account" or the red banner to download and purchase the product, an error box "Message From Web Page" pops up - except the message box contains no text, so I don't know what the error is. I thought it might be because I am not logged in as a registered user - but I see no option to register. I assume that is done through the "Manage Your Account" link? Using IE 10. I have no AV or firewall software running that would block access

Hi Kevin, I have purchased PrecipitFX today and have created an Oldprop ID and registered the product. I then logged in and clicked on the PrecipitFX "Cloud" icon to download. My virus scanner immediately advises that I am about to download a dangerous file called downloadGen.act.php Can you confirm if this is correct or has your download link been corrupted. Cheers Dave

I've installed both 777 Immersion and PrecipFX but they are not showing in the sim. After every add-on aircraft installation, I run both PrecipFX and 777 Immersion to make sure these wonderful effects are added to my newly installed aircraft, but the effects do not display in the sim. Hi just bought the effects package. P3D2.4, REX4 TD with standard weather depicted 'Major Thunderstorm' and 'Heavy Snows' and on neither did I see any rain or snow. Aircraft Majestic Q400 with engines turned off. Also i just saw a thread from someone saying they got the rain tunnel light show with the pack installed, I bought this app because people on avsim said that it fixed it which is concerning to me that I might have wasted £9 :( but we will see.
