PrecipitFX Support

Does anyone know how to change the position of the vortices on the Project Airbus A320?? I am using the sharklets model and I want the vortices to appear in the tip of the sharklets, because in default, the vortices appear in the area where the wingtip would supposed to be. In the aircraft.cfg file, in the effects section, the only thing that is there is the name of the effect and also the name of the effects files (example: "vaportrail_l = fsfx_PFX_34674C5337767A6562726E38486D6958794975646E594E357576646268717151 //42 - Enabled by PFX") I would be appreciated if someone would help me here! Hello, I bought PreciptFX today (06/07/2024) (https://orbxdirect.com/product/p42-precipitfx). I have P3D 4.5 and it's not working, I installed everything ok, but I open the simulator and it's already stressing me out. I didn't receive any activation, I just opened Orbx Central and installed it in the folder where it asks to install (C:\Users\johnn\AppData\Roaming\Orbx\Central\Integrations\Parallel 42), but I can't get anything. I know I have to disable "Detailed precipitation" (it's off) and "effects" are in medium... I'm already getting VERY stressed... 9 dollars wasted?? Hello, has anyone gotten this program to work with AIG AI traffic at all? I have P3Dv4.5 and downloaded this program from //42 via ORBX but I can’t seem to get it to work with AIG. I had it working beautifully with UTL but ever since I made the switch I don’t have the updated contrails. Any help would be appreciated

Hi I've just installed the last PreciptFX version for FSX (sp2). It works fine but I cannot see any wheels smoke during hard braking (wheels stop running so antiskid is disabled) in any aircraft. I use Steve's DX10 Fixer. Thanks for help!

Hello, I am after some advice/information in terms of how this software pools/populates where to look for aircraft.cfg files especially with Add ons external to the sim. Im struggling to determine what constitutes a valid addon to be able to recieve this software treatment. Prepar3d V4 is installed in "D:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4" (Location A) and my external Add-ons are installed in "D:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons" (Location B). Now for the tricky part- Add-ons installed to "A" are treated as expected (no issue) Add-ons installed to "B" are selectively treated (issue) Add-ons that are treated, A2A P-40, …

It's great program. I find myself chasing rain just to see the effect.

Will this be updated for V5?

Is it possible to set PrecipitFX to not affect Flight Sim Labs Concorde ? It automatically amends (disables) some FSLabs effects files that are vital for the specific model. I have "Override existing settings" disabled but this does not affect it and it changes Concorde's effects.

Is there a sweet spot between FPS and visible effects in P3D? What are you all runner your sliders at?

Does the in sim “Special Effects” slider have any effect on the default precipitfx Effects? Does reducing the slider reduce the effects etc...

Hi, I installed VFX Central and PrecipitFX on my P3D v4.1, unfortunately the rain effect remained the default of P3D .... maybe I did something wrong? Can anyone help me ? Thanks David

Any issues with the new update of P3D?

Whenever I have PrecipitFX installed I have extremely low FPS in cruise when there are contrails and also when it is raining. I even occasionally get stuttering and freezing which sometimes can cause the plane to malfunction and crash. The issue only occurs with PrecipitFX installed but I don't see anybody else with similar issues. I have an i7-8700k, 2080ti, 16GB DDR4 3000mhz RAM, 1TB SSD (P3d v4.4 is installed on that) and a 2TB HDD.

I installed PrecipitFX but the textures are not showing up. I have tried reinstall but to no avail. Any help? Thanks

Hi, just want to know if PrecipitFX would take into account and would add all the effects to the aircraft that are installed outside the main directory of P3D (as recommended by LM) or outside the normal path but still inside the P3D main directory?. Thanks, Ed

Happy new Year! the topic says it: My Contrails are always white. they did not change the colour at morning, sunset or night like the clouds do this. i use the contrails from PreciptFX and the same whith PMDG ones, and Dash 8 also from OldProp. is there any solution for that issue?

Hi, I've re-applied all the effects after the install of the 747-8, but for some reason nothing is present. Jetwash, wheels in water..... in the rain the plane behaves like in a dry Any suggestions what I could be doing wrong? THanks,

I'm getting this error when I select precipitFX and then hit apply. Was working well yesterday and prior, just started happening today. Check my internet connection and speed, all good 654 Mbps down and 22.2 Mbps up. Cheers, Rob.
