C208B Grand Caravan EX HD Series for FSX | P3D

Hi all, I (somewhat hastily) bought the Grand Caravan for P3D4 in order to do some VATSIM flying as a (more-or-less) type-correct Fedex Express feeder operation. In order to do this under IFR, I need to have a current AIRAC loaded. I checked Navigraph and their download page lists "Carenado (all products)", so I assumed the aviation DB for the G1000 could be updated. I've run the updater from Navigraph but the AIRAC identified by the G1000 is still old (2008?) Is there a way to do this at all, or is it fixed? Many thanks, -John

For some reason, my spoilers are always deployed upon loading the C208 EX. I usually don't find out until I rotate and the airspeed drops to 70 with the FPM at 0. How can I fix this?

Hi all, A new airline is starting out in the Channel Islands operating Caravans, they operate C208B's but with G1000 setup. I have attached a couple of images if the aircraft 2-CREW, the only aircraft they currently have although more will be delivered next year. The engine or propeller has barely any power to it. I have no cargo. I start my take off roll and get to 80 knots and pull up, then the air speed just does not increase and I can only climb at about 100 fpm at 75 knots. All the dials seem to be in the green, torque at 2000 , prop at 1800, temp 705, fuel flow 462. I can load any other plane and they have enough power. Any ideas?

Hi people, TSS make a very good sound, but with the FDE mod, the sound is "mute" when we put the prop on full feather. Anyone with the original FDE have same thing?

I notice that when I reduce throttle from 40% to about 25% there is a big reduction in power and the airspeed drops like a rock from 120 to 80. I know there was a modified air file at one point, but is there a newer one for P3D v4?

Hello to all ! (And happy new year) Maybe you can help me. I'm flying the Carenado C208 EX for about a month now and all is fine, except I'm freezing ! I switch on Bleed Air (heat), Cabin heat mixing is in flt position, cabin heat is FWD, and Defrost is on, but the temperature in the cabin doesn't exceed 5°C. (when outside temp is 6°C), for instance. I tried to turn on the AC to "ventilate position" but it's worse. Could you please explain me what I'm doing wrong ? Many thanks for your help !

With AirHauler, I have been taking off above max gross weight. So, during one approach I lost track of speed and did not hear the stall warning; consequently, I fell to the ground such that no amount of power was going to get going again. Is there a way to calculate stall speeds?

Nothing new installed and nothing changed in current setup within P3D. Started fresh flight out of KBNA and after entering waypoints via MFD/PFD I am not able to Pan using space bar/mouse, nor can I pause the flight via keyboard inside VC. Shift "o" works. Outside of plane I can pan using space bar/mouse and pause etc, pause the game via "P" but inside VC nothing. I can pan using joystick but not space bar/mouse Edit - Not using Chase plane or anything else like chase Any ideas Pax Brad

I bought the C208B EX for some VA flying and it appears that, unlike the C208 HD that it does not recognize the FSUIPC Simconnect Vars for the G1000. By way of explanation. I have been using HID Macros and a USB keypad to control G1000 functions on the C208B HD, as well as both G1000 and GPS functions on some of my other aircraft. However, that doesn't appear to work with the C208B and so far I've only been able to use click spots. Does anyone have the C208B working with FSUPIC Simconnect Vars? If so, how.. Thanks, Ernie

I installed the new 208 fsx/p3d into v4.1 and the vc textures don't load, the gauges are there but i can see through the plane.. anyone? Thanks.

I downloaded the fee skins, where do i place them in P3DV4? They look like texture files in a folder called Objects. I did this for V3 but beats the hell out of me if i remember how I did it. Do you have to modify CFG file?

I see the 208 HD is available now and it states new serial number required and the serials have been sent to vendors. Yet, I don't see fspilotshop having a serial number at all. Maybe too early? Does anyone know?

In P3D v3 I believe you could resize the GPS and make it larger or smaller. I can't seem to get the double arrows in p3d v4 with the GPS popup window.

I'm considering the 208 EX while it's on sale, but there is not much for repaints. I have the 208B and love some of the repaints for it. Does anybody know for sure if they will work on the newer 208 EX?

Good afternoon all, It took a little bit of work, but I think I've almost figured out how to repaint the Carenado Caravan EX. I've painted the 8 regular dds textures. I don't know what to do with the spec textures (CAR_CARAV_EXT_1_spec.dds, etx...). They look similar to the other textures, but the colours are a little off. Does anyone know if they need to be painted as well? Thanks, Colin Gray

Hi, Is the C208B GRAND CARAVAN EX now available for V4? At simmarket it´s listed as V4 but on the Carenado website there is still v3.

I've been updating Carenado's planes as they release the updates for P3dv4. All have worked flawlessly...EXCEPT the Caravan. The VC is transparent! I've uninstalled and re-installed, but nothing changes the transparency of the inside of the plane. Spot view and all other views are accurate. Have any of you tried this particular update, and did the same thing happen to you? I checked Carenado's site and there doesn't seem to be any additional info. Stan
