C208B Grand Caravan EX HD Series for FSX | P3D

I created the add-on xml file for the Carenado C208B and was able to get it to show up in P3Dv4. The externals are magnificent but I am having a problem with transparent panel in the VC. I removed references to the wx_gauge.dll thinking that may be part of the issue but no lock. Any thoughts on this? (BTW I know there have not been official v4 installers created) P3Dv3 P3Dv4 I did the same with the U206 ( I miss my amphib!) and no issues with transparency of the vc panel but there I have no gauges :( I'm thinking about trying to re-build the panel using some of the gauges from the default A36 Kevin

I've search all over and can't find even a smidgen of documentation on this product. I've seen people open a special menu on You Tube to open and close doors but I don't even know how to do that. The Carenado-->Carenado C208B folder in the sim folder only has procedures and checklist of the plane. I've done keyword searches on my computer to see if maybe the documentation was installed in a folder I was unaware of but it doesn't find anything. If this is the case then the lack of documentation on this product is beyond belief. If I'm being as blind as a bat please open my eyes. Thanks.

Hi I've noticed that the ex version has the switches on the left side like the starter etc don't respond to joystick or any other inputs from avionic modules. Is this a known bug because I prefer this version but this is some what of a pain to have to use a mouse. Any suggestions? thxLee

Hi together, before I write directly to Carenado, I't like to post some problems that I have with the C208Ex here first: - Customization of the map (for example "TRACK UP") doesn't work because the cursor at the "popup list" in the "Map setup" menu is stuck at "North up". Using the inner knob of the FMS rotary switch navigates between the options "HDG up, TRACK up,....", but only for a split second and then it moves back to "NORTH up". It happens in the VC mode and also in the popup display. The knowledge base at Carenado's website doesn't help at all because it only describes how it would work if the switch wasn't faulty. Hi - I just purchased the C208 EX and I have a couple of quick questions. 1.) Is there a way to turn off the high lights and arrows on the knobs on the G1000 (when you place the cursor over them) ? 2.) In the control panel there is an option Shift-6 for engine settings, I hit that several times last night but nothing happened. Is that not active? Thnx!!! Richard

Hi all. I've recently purchased the said aircraft and am having trouble with Vertical speed, The AVSS doesn't seem clickable, the rotary knob rotates but I can't push it by clicking on it and the 2 buttons are unresponsive. If I click ALT on the auto pilot the 2 AVSS button go in and out but that's all I can get them to do. I have switched off reflections in the P3D display menu. Am I doing something wrong? All help appreciated.

Hi all, I am looking for a little help. Not sure whether it is because of windows updates or what but I have a couple add-on aircraft that no longer work. I have the V.2 of the Grand Caravan EX install on my FSX. It was working Ok until Microsoft pushed out a number of updates. Now I am having problems. I had profiles built up in FSUIPC4 which do not work. When I load the aircraft (Carenado Caravan EX) it shuts down completely and finally when I get it started auto pilot does not work. The altitude select knob turns but will not set an altitude in the PDF. The HDG and CRS1 knob on the AFCS control Unit turn but there is no indications on PDF. I have uninstalled…

Hello, I just bought this plane yesterday and it's very nice. But I have some questions and a couple of issues. 1) My MFD engine instruments do not look like shown on page 7 of the G1000 manual. 2) What does the inertial separator do? 3) Does the oxygen system work? 4) Issue; When I have the MFD in TOPO and Terrain mode it will flicker occasionally from the colorful TOPO screen to the blue/black screen. It can get annoying. My system is an extremely powerful, brand new Jetline system, and I fly the NGX with full ORBX all the time and no problems. I was wondering if this is a known bug. So I picked this up a week ago or so and its a great model.. But my Saitek switch panel won't operate the battery or any of the other switches on the lower left panel. I've used LINDA to trace the commands and it is just the default Master Battery toggle command, but the aircraft behaves like the switch it being activated twice when I flip the switch. I've back checked all other forms of input just to make sure there isn't a double fire happening anywhere with no luck. All the lighting switches work fine, its just the stuff on that lower panel.

Is it possible to merge the glass cockpit from EX to the Cargomaster? If yes, how? Many thanks, Roberto.

I can find no answer on this. The most I read from Carenado (dated back in April) is that "some of our aircraft work, but not all, and we'll get back to you later on which ones." Has anyone successfully gotten this aircraft to work in FSX:SE? I was just about to purchase it when I realized there was no information about it.

I recently purchased the RA Turbine Duke, and one of the options was the add-on Garmin GTN750. This looks very nice and I'm going to pick it up. And since it is an add-on, does CArenado support it for the Grand Caravan? I know that you can install the Garmin in just about any aircraft, but I want it to look like it belongs there. Anyone know if, and how, this can be done?

I am building a cockpit for my Carenado C208 Grand Caravan EX. I have mapped the com and nav knobs to rotary encoders using SimConnect. I am trying to do the same for the Group, Page and Zoom Knobs. I have mappings for the standard G1000 Group, Page and Zoom knobs but the Carenado G1000 doesn't respond to them. Would it be possible using a custom guage? or via FSUIPC? Many thanks!

I just spent a bazillion hours reinstalling P3D and various add ons. I installed the C208 patch as well. On my previous P3D and C208 install it worked fine for months. Now, I have this problem with the cockpit being transparent: I tried deleting the P3D shader directory, but it did not help. Any ideas?

I have been trying to get some assistance with this, and have not been able to get ahold of any customer support people from Carenado on this one. I purchased the X-Plane version of the Cessna 208B and the deicing boots only seem to be actuating on the left-hand wing. I flew in icing for a while testing the deicing boots switch and looking at the icing data readouts for both wing surfaces. When the deicing boot switch is turned on, only the left wing seems to be effective...I continue to get ice buildup on the right wing and cannot seem to get the boot pressure to that wing.
