TBM 850 HD Series FSX | P3D

    Hi - 1.Has anyone done a tutorial on flying the TBM850? There is one on youtube - looks good but it is in German. 2. Is there a manual - that is a guide to flying the TBM850 ie how to open the doors, start up, shut down ect - I don't see one in the docs - the normal procedures is basically your usual check list as I see it. 3. Bert was advising someone on the keys for opening the doors - Bert - how did you come by that information? 4. Carenado have advised me that the docs are the ones in the Carenado folder - am I missing something here? Thanks for any help/advice. Shaun

    I've joined the club very late with Bert's fixes actually allowing me to enjoy the plane. But now I wonder why there are so little (read no) repaints available. :( I've looked into the Avsim library and over at OZx and didn't find a single new paint for that fast prop plane. Any tips, help of plans? I don't even have specific requests, just give me some more colours. B)

    I was wondering if there's a way to adjust the rate at which the cabin climbs. Well, the pressure drop of course since I can pull some decent climb rates with the plane itself but the cabin sometimes reaches it's max differential pressure and therefore triggers a warning. Current workaround. Increase the plane's forward speed, therefore lower the vertical one a bit. Sort of like on the turbine Duke (which has a rate selector though). But would any of you code folks be able to tweak the cabin rate for the TBM to allow for faster, warning-less, climbouts? The current rate seems to aim for some 500ft/min. Too low! / sent from a mobile thingy /

    Since I purchased Carenado's TBM850 I enjoyed several flights with this great aircraft after adding Bert's modifications V6 (thanks again, Bert!). But I have never found how to use the Go Around switch, which should move the Flight Director to the 7.5 deg pitch up position. Does it exist at all? I guess it's the red button on the throttle stick, but it seems to be inoperative. Or do I miss something? A second issue seems to be the SPD switch on the autopilot. Unlike the description given in the original G1000 manual for the TBM850 it seems to activate a non-existing autothrottle speed mode. Do you have the same experience?     As a real world pilot certified to fly G1000 equipped aircraft I have found a number of discrepancies, many of which are already mentioned. I found no mention of the following flaw in the modeled aircraft here in the forum. If there is already a thread, please direct me to it. I am experiencing "gyro drift" in this aircraft. I do not have "gyro drift" enabled in FSX. Also, the G1000 is equipped with Attitude Heading Reference Systems" which is slaved to an electronic compass. This system never needs resetting.     Hello, I'm having issues with the knobs on the autopilot panel (they are not moving). Its not turning to any heading, altitude or pitching VS when I select. Am I doing something wrong? Please any assistance is appreciated.

    Maybe a user issue but I find when I'm using a GPS or Loc approach and I turn off the vertical speed hold and/or altitude hold I do not have manual control of the vertical descent. it's like the plane won't release control. I have to turn off the entire AP to regain vertical control. Even reducing the altitude to O on the AP doesn't work. it makes things worse with a steeper descent I can't control. is there something I'm missing?

    One of the things I have noticed with the 850 is the aircraft has a tendency to drift sharply to the left during the final couple of hundred feet just before landing. You can try and compensate with the rudder which turns the plane however it's like some big hand just pushes the plane. Now this is with no cross winds and gentle head winds to boot. I don't know if the actual aircraft is like this or not. The lancair IVP has an extreme pull to the left during takeoff which is realistic but not during landings and the 850 doesn't pull like this during take off. So I was curious if the settings need to be dumbed down a bit or is this plane a handful to land?

    Maybe I'm a dummy but how do you move the flaps lever into the 850 position. My normal flaps controller on my Saitek Yoke doesn't do it and the mouse doesn't seem to do it. Is there some secret control somewhere or some special programming you need to do?

    I've been working with Rich to re-write some of Carenado's code for the MFD AUX/Flight Planning page. The Trip stats and Fuel stats should now reflect the correct values. If you use this page and would like the fixed version, send me a PM with your email address, to get a copy of my PFD and MFD mods. I've also sent this code off to Carenado for inclusion in a potential SP3..

  18. Hello All ----- Still struggling with my sound issue on the TBM 850. The problem is that after auto-shutdown, the full power turbo sound remains steady, without any gradual decrease, until the prop comes to a complete halt. Then the sound cuts off abruptly. Anyone else have this problem?? I have both SP1 and SP2 installed over an original early download of the 850. If no one else is having this issue, maybe I should uninstall the 850 with the SPs and download the most recent version, which should have all updates included. (?) What say 850 flyers???     It appears that the blank texture set is extremely disorganised. Trying to do a repaint will be next to impossible, at least for someone like myself. Does anyone have any idea of how to make sense of it?

  23. Hi all Here is what I ran into . I have the t 182 and tbm 850 . After i INSTALLED THE PC 12 the g 1000 displays in both of these birds was messed up (lettering too big for the spaces ) it mucked up my displays. even after deleting config file and pc 12 and both carenados planes and a reinstall of only the carenado planes the problem persisted. and was only solved by a full re install of fsx .....(good times !) so just be careful out there some older software does not play nice with the new stuff. If any one could explain why this happened ( I have an idea) please enlighten me and if there was an easier fix the the dreaded re install let this forever noob know wi…

    (originally posted elsewhere by error) As per instructions in the DOCs, I first enter the departure airport, then my next waypoint. However, I am always getting a reversed order and I cannot find a way to "reverse" that order from menu items. OK, what am I doing wrong ,,,, I first enter CYRO, then YOW as my first waypoint, but it is going to get backwards Then as I completed entering the flight plan, I highlight YOW as my first waypoint, click enter, and PRESTO >> not good, going the wrong way man !!
