Hey guys, I just finished up my first flight in the new TBM 850 and I thought that I would share some notes that I took during the flight. First off, this is a review from a real world prospective. It's important to note that your simulator experience is exactly that...YOUR experience. My experience is infused with real world training and recurrency, so my opinion of FS aircraft may differ from your own, and I will aslo focus on the real world application of the aircraft rather than computer performance and FPS. Hi, I was trying to enter the following flight-plan: KAPF(Naples, FL)-MARCI-RIGOR-KEYW(Key West, FL). I select the FPL page: Active Flight Plan and with inner knob enter KAPF - press ENTER ( the airport is displayed in the Active Flight Plan. Select dashed line with outer knob, rotate inner knob and Waypoint Information page is displayed.Rotate inner knob for single character flash, enter MARCI and press ENTER. Duplicate Waypoint page appears, I select the top one (SE USA) and press ENTER. Now the "ACTIVE FLIGHT PLAN" page is displayed, however with a DASHED LINE as second waypoint (it should show MARCI). Has anyone noticed that since the latest update that the map display doesn't fully occupy the space that it should? I noticed a gap near the top of the MFD and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this? I reported it to Carenado but it may be a VERY long time before it is fixed...

At what point should the 850 HP lever be moved into that position? Obviously for cruise, but should it be before that on the climb out or at a certain altitude? I do a lot of shorter flights of 100 N.M. so my maximum altitude is only up to 10,000 ft for those.

Hi everyone, this may seem like a strange and unnecessary request but I like my sim to be as realistic as possible! Anyway, I was just watching the video posted in this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/408402-rw-start-up-vid/ and I noticed that the G1000 actually takes a lot longer to boot up and align itself in real life than it does in the sim currently. I am wondering if there is a value in the files anywhere that I can change to get a more realistic start up time? Again, I know this may sound strange, but the current start up time is way too quick (especially the MFD!).

I'm wonder if you can help me. I'm currently cruising at 15,000ft and I have a red master warning light that reads 'cab diff press'. In the cabin press box of the G1000, ALT FT reads '-200' and is green and the DIFF PSI reads '6.5' and is flashing red. How do you pressurise this aircraft? Where is the pressurisation knob? Hi, I just purchased the TBM850 and running into the following trouble: Cockpit door open & close: shift+E+1 and 2 is o.k. Passenger door open & close: ?????? Cockpit Set-Up It states on the Carendao website: For our newer aircraft we released recently (TBM850 and onwards), all you have to do is click on the "Cold and dark" option that pops up when you load up the aircraft. For our older planes, you have to save a flight under the "cold and dark" condition and then load it up every time you want to start a flight with that aircraft. I do NOT get the pop up when I load the aircraft! Thanks for help

Hi guys, I have, by now, had an exhaustive experience with my TBM 850 stretching back over about the last year and a half and it's only thanks to Voice Attack, which I learned about from my now hero and new best friend Scottb613, that I have finally gotten it to where I can fly it at all. The issue was my neurologically defficient fingers, which can not operate a mouse scroll wheel (in fairness to carenado I should mention that when I told them about this problem they gave me my pick of any other of their airplanes. I chose the Malibu jet prop and I am very happy with it) And the solution has been Voice Attack which allows one to create macros which will do things li…

I've downloaded and installed the latest TBM850 for P3DV4 from Carenado. Every time I try to enter a flight plan, I'm able to enter the starting airport, but when I click ENTER, P3DV4 freezes, then crashes every time. I may have missed it, but I searched these forums and could not find a solution... Has anyone else run into this? Thanks! JeffB

Hello, I see that the cabin pressure knob allows maximun setting at 10100 ft as a matter fact, when I do high altitude flights, in the glass diplays that setting flashes red continuously please, did I miss something to adjust, or is this a limit of the Carenado model? thanks

I can't seem to get the alphanumeric keys on the FMS keyboard to function. The other keys (FFP, Direct-to, etc.) and knobs all function and bring up the appropriate windows in the MFD but none of the alphanumeric keys function and so I am unable to enter data using the keyboard. I am using the TBM 850 version 2 in P3dv4. Any suggestions? BTW, I have "reflections" turned off in P3dv4 as I read somewhere that the reflections could cause problems with certain click spots. I'm hoping the community can provide me some insight on what might be the problem. I have a version 1 installer (archived) and a version 2 (currently installed). Version 1 with G1000 - works just fine Version 1 with GTN 750 mod - works just fine Version 2 with G1000 - works just fine Version 2 with GTN 750 mod - does not work Typically I'll get the glide slope to appear after passing the IAF and then arm approach. When I do that with the v2/GTN 750 combo the GPS on the PFD switches to a white LOC read out and the glide slope vertical bar never appears, nor does it capture. Has anyone be able to achieve a level flight speed of over 233kts in Carenado’s TMB 850 Turbo prop. Real life figures quote that it is capable of near 300 kts, however I have never been able to get it over 233 kts. Any idea how? Thanks

Hello, I installed the TBM850 V2 for my FSX. All works fine. But when I switch on the panel-lights the left CRS-Knob didn't work. It did not get blue by getting the mouse on it an when I turn the mousewheel the heading-bug is working. After switching of the panel-lights the CRS-knob is working well. Best regards Dirk

Does anyone else get a flashing master caution light when maneuvering for approach? It seems like when I pull the throttle to idle on approach to get down to approach speed and then apply some throttle to maintain that speed I always get a constantly flashing master caution. I can hit the light to cancel it but it usually comes on again with my next throttle adjustment. It can be very distracting especially when landing at night. I have prop RPM at max during approach. Is this correct? I have checked my switches and I have no other warnings. My flaps and gear are lowered at the appropriate speeds and I'm using the approach speed specified in the tables. Any ideas?

I purchased FSX steam edition last week and installed my TBM 850 V2.0. Everything is fine except that the weather radar doesn't work any more not with fsx weather or FXRealWeather. -Is this common ? -Is there a fix for this I already installed sim-connect the original legacy from FSX and no improvements.
