TBM 850 HD Series FSX | P3D

How does one switch coms to COM2 on the TBM's PFD? Same question for NAV2?

I'm definitely having problems using Bert's mods in integrating the GTN750 with the new version 2 of this aircraft. Is anyone using his mods with the new version 2? I get no response with any of the buttons/knobs on the (upper) instrument panel (I forget the name of the instrument, sorry) to activate the autopilot, set altitude, etc., etc. Thanks for any advice or help. I may have to wait until Bert returns from his trip.

Hi, Carenado has released Version 2.0 of their TBM 850

Carenado TBM-850 Version 2.0 (P3D3.2) All normal clickspots seem to work, but the beloved 'hidden' clickpot for the co-pilot's side PFD does not switch off the screen (even when zoomed in massively). I used to switch off the instrument screen on the right hand side to increase FPS by about 5 when using the previous version of this great aircraft. Now this doesnt work anymore. Does anyone have the same problem? A solution would be appreciated.

In a separate post, I explained how to add an RXP GNS530 as a popup. For the LPV glideslope to work on the PFD, you need two things: - My modified PFD (available via PM) - An rxpgns.ini setting of LinkVor=1 (not 0, as indicated in the other post) :blush:

When i have set a route, either with the G1000 or the GTN750 and set the CDI to GPS, when I press NAV on the autopilot, the FD starts turning the plane in circles and not following the vnav path. Some of my friends have the same problem. Anyone with a solution?

The TBM ships with a VSI (in the G1000 PFD) that goes from -2000 to 2000 ft/min. The real aircraft goes from -4000 to 4000. If you have the Phenom 300 (SP 1.2.) as well, you can see that Carenado fixed this. If you are adventurous, you can transport this fix from the Phenom to the TBM. Is there a way to use the Direct to function with this plane? I've tried everything and clicking the Direct to button only brings up a sub menu that can't be used in any practical sense.

Is the normal cruise configuration at flaps=850? Or is that just for the climb?

Hello together, I tried to run a new TBM850FSXP3D.exe after I installed P3D V2.5, but nothing was installed. Why? I copied "all" files and directories manually from the former V2.2, but when running, in the VC the outer shape was missing. Starting the aircraft from cold and dark, it doesn't really run satisfying. An automatic start works, but the engine runs out-of-round and produces a lot of smoke. In short words: significant worse than in V2.2 with the installer. As anybody experiences on this item? Why does the installer do not create the necessary Directories? Is there somewhere a marker on my computer, which tells him a already installed state? In the regedit …

Does the Garmin Avionics have a radio altimeter? I can't seem to find it, and in a plane like this, you would think they would have put it in. Thanks Peter

The control knobs turn bluish when I point the mouse over them but the wheel has no effect on their movement. I can turn the knobs with my Saitek multi panel or radio controls but no effect at all with the mouse. I have all the Carenado planes and this is the only one with the problem. Everything else works: NGX, A2A, Real Air Etc. Wish someone had a solution because Carenado could not offer one. I have tried disconnecting the Saitek panel but no difference... I bought a TBM 850 a couple of weeks ago, but not from Carenado (so I can't get into their update service). Is there any way in some file somewhere that I can check to see what version I have?

I have just purchased this aircraft & find it runs very well & smooth in FSX however in P3D V2.1 once the G1000 is switched on I get nasty stutters despite my fps showing in the 60's. Have tried numerous scenery & graphics settings but nothing seems to fix it. I'm running an i7 4770K @ 4.5 with 4Gb Ram & a OC GTX770 hence very good frames. Odd I should be getting these stutters when the G1000 is fully on. PDF1 in "start" mode doesn't seem to affect it. Anybody else had similar experience? Cheers, Ross

When I load the TBM 850 with Cold & Dark option and then start the engine, the aircraft will move forward and I can't stop it until the engine RPM comes down to IDLE! I have tried using manual and parking brakes ON and Thrust at IDLE, Mixture nearly closed and PROP lever in several positions but to no avail. Once I am able to stop the aircraft and shut down the engine and then restart the engine, the issue seems to have gone. I use the SAITEK yoke and throttle quadrant and rudder also. Does anyone have the same problem or any good suggestions? Other Carenado products don't give me the same problem, but this TBM does, even after several re-install efforts etc.…

Very strange autopilot issue. Occasionally when I turn the autopilot on it will not respond to NAV or HDG. ALT works fine. This has happened three times out of maybe 50 flights. Not a huge problem but it's impossible to continue a Vatsim flight. It seems to happen mostly if the system is under a load from a scenery add-on or other programs running. Anyone else had this problem?

I can't seem to be able to change the softkey from GPS to LOC for an approach on the MFD? Please clue me in.

Hi all; As you know, the TBM requires something like 24 trq to get rolling. Thank the heavens for FSUIPC!! Those days are over, and your TBM will taxi like the real thing now. Heres how: Download the latest FSUIPC, and install it. (This will work for the unpaid as well). go to FSX main/Modules/FSUIPC Documents/Example LUA plugins.zip - and extract "DynamicFriction.lua" into the main Modules folder. Open the FSUIPC4.ini file in the Modules folder, and add this code to the end of the file: [Auto] 1=Lua DynamicFriction Save. Bingo, you now have realistic taxi/ground friction, and this will work for all AC of course. Hawk Diesel.

Guys, I have been searching for a way to update the 530 data base. I did find a way on this forum to update to April 2010 using the 600 Trainer but would like to keep the data base more current. I was searching today and found data base updates could be purchased at Mindstar GPS. Is this compatable with the Reality GNS530? Thanks!

Guys, I have been flying my TBM 850 a lot California this week and am having a problem with the TEC routes. Is there a way to enter the following flight plan in the GNS530: "KWANG VTU V208 SXC V208 LAX118R CARDI MZB320R MZB". Specifically the "LAX118R" part. A lot of the TEC routes in CA have this type of fix. What would be the best way to navigate to a VOR radial like this? Thanks!!

Guys, First of all I really like this airplane. With the GNS530 installed as a popup it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. I flew the Carenado PropJet for a long time but needed something faster with all glass cockpit. One issue. How the heck do you turn off the morse nav aid indentifier? It goes constantly regardless of the nav aid tuned. I've never had this issue on any other airplane. I've tried all of the volume knobs. Thanks! Found it. Push the knob labeled "VOL Push Id" upper left on MFD. Quiet now.

I went this route reluctantly, hoping that I could just live with the G1000 MFD and it's rudimentary and partly broken flightplan entry - but finally threw in the towel and added a GNS530 in a popup window. I had to change the PFD code to enable the LPV glideslope - but I now have a working version, that gives me the "best of both worlds" at a slight loss of realism, if there is such a thing in FSX. If you would like a copy of the PFD/MFD which I've also cleaned up graphically, send me a PM with your email address.

Guys, Just installed the 850 and am excited to start flying this plane. Cockpit looks great! I went to the exterior view and see that there is a problem. Parts of the plane are missing and the control surfaces are every which way and do not respond to joy stick movements. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!!

In terms of navdata within the G1000 and as it pertains to Australian data....it's not good at all. Missing many crucial points, and, even if they're listed in the MFD, they don't show up in the actual database when scrolling through. So, if I wanted to manually add navdata (ie waypoints, VOR's, etc) - is this achievable with the Carenado TBM850 G1000?
