    Hello, I've been working through the newly posted tuning guide including the DX10 tips and tweaks with promising results. Thanks to those involved! However, I tried AlacrityPC with less success - I can only seem to find version 1 and it only has Vista and XP profiles (none for Win7) so not sure if there's a later version I should be using? Perhaps stupidly, I actually went and hit 'START' on the vista profile, expecting to get some configuration options but was a little alarmed to see it launch into shutting down processes. My concern now is that I don't know what it shut down and whether or not I need to start them back up again!?!? Are defaults restored o…

    I bought the convertor but have an issue with it and via the forum they dont react. Perhaps one of you has an answer. I have windows 8 and fsx gold. The install progres was fine and when I go to the flightsimtools programfiles and open the configurator/ options, then are three locations. The one which is blanc is the imagetool but i cannot find the path to fill in. in the manual they are talking about sdk and terrain but i cannot find them I also downloaded w8 sdk but no luck any idea would be appreciated. doeke

    I#m runnig the DX10fix since a few month. I'm very happy with it. But I have some questions: Will there be a next version of the DX10fix? Is it in developing? What will be fixed? Will we get night textures? Will we get rid of the white AES cars? What else? Thanks!

  5. Hi. After a few trial runs, I`ve just attempted my first DX10 flight. Was all going great (2 hrs into the flight), got contacted by Vatsim, and PC froze. Screen turned black, and no error warnings. Could still hear ATC trying to get in touch with me. Went into Event viewer, and all there was, was a Application hang error 1002. FSX.exe Dosn`t really help, as had few progs running in background. Any ideas?

  6. Hi there, after comparing both versions I recognized that only shader 3.2.1 shows building textures from the checked payware airport "AS Approaching Innsbruck" day and night. Also some DX10-noncompliant static aircraft are shown nearly properly. Are combinations possible, which include advantages from both versions? Any pro/con summary per version available which might help to choose the right one at first? Wulf

    I have 3770k processor oc to 4.6 ghz nvidia inspector shows me mem clock1800 and shaderclock 1400 does it have advantage to oc these?

    After installing this DX10 patch and setup NI and FSX.cfg according to recommendations my result are Good Better performance Bad See glowing dots sometimes Still some shimmering Water textures seem 'moving' at some distance Worst Even panels can exhibit glitches like broken lines shimmering. This is the case in PMDG 737NGX A2A Cub Milwiz Baron 55. See the pic below As you can see the lines in the GPS are broken and what you can't see is the line pattern is moving (the same effect can sometimes be seen on runways) I hope there is a solution at least to the worst problem

    I fixed the blue aircraft texture on my DX10 setup last year. Trying to help a friend with his but cant remember what the fix was. Must be getting old or maybe just the long cold winter. Anyhow, any help solving the BLUE texture issue would be appreciated.

    Hello, I am having an issue with my PMDG B1900C VC lighting and gauge lighting in FSX with DX10 enabled. It works fine without DX10. I also have this issue with numerous other port overs. The 2D panels illuminate just fine but my VC has absolutley no lighting effects at all. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance. Bob Schwindt

    I have been running DX10 for about four months now. But as in life I started to take the amazing graphics for granted. It wasn't until I installed WOAI and had the aircraft turn white and decided to go back to DX9 that I realized what a truly amazing difference DX10 made! Oh and incidentally when I switch back to DX10 after running DX9, all of the WOAI aircraft work perfectly! This FSX really is a strange creature.

  13. Hi Jim I read in a old thread about FFTF=0 I used that one and in combination with usepools=1 plus reject and plus poolsize and it works great for me. I read also something about Allow_shader_30=1 in the cfg file question is: do you support these two items for dx10?

  15. Hi to all, yesterday I tried out nex configuration with DX10. All process gone well, without any problem. FSX seems smoother and a bit faster, tried with ASE and heavy rain and clouds, with my specs pc. 1) NGX flight director bugs are missed, like you can see in this screen (not mine) but same issue: http://imageshack.us/f/203/20121028225025945.png/ Even if I try to reactivate FD bugs don't come up, why? 2) I have gtx275 dx10 compatibily gpu, so I can use Inspector filter, if yes, come someone suggest some value.     Hi. I`ve just taken the plunge and had a go. Done all the edits and installs provided in this forum. (Had to remove bufferpools as it ground my system to a halt). My question is, that when flying out of a UK airport, the ground scenery (Orbx England) only displays immediatly around the aircraft (not into the distance), and has white patches around it, until I climb past 8000ft, then everything is displayed as it should for the rest of the flight. Is this a DX10 thing, or a Orbx England problem? Hope this makes sense?

    I very recently switched to DX10 and have noticed some obvious gains in FPS and smoothness. I have not run into many issues yet but I did notice right away that the planes in FTX NA GA AI Traffic were not compatible.I read in the ORBX forums that this could be fixed by a product called Addon Converter X. Not being at all familiar about where the planes are stored in FSX, what they would be called and the formats etc. how would I go about successfully doing this? Is it best to just uninstall FTX NA GA AI Traffic if you are not familiar with those things or is it a lot easier than it seems. Thanks.

    I really do not how you guys can say this dx10 is so great. I have tried twice, following all these complicated changes to my fs.cfg, nvidia inspector and god knows what else, with the same result: FSX CRASH!!! Yes, my fsx has the dx10 box checked. I tried a few different nvidiainspector setting possibilities. If this is possible it should work on my computer: i72700,GTX680 all the latest. Pretty disgusted, Pau lBurley

  21. I installed my new Asus GEForce GTX670, applied NI example 4 of 6 in the "How To" guide with excellent results. No Aliasing that I can see "except" taxing parallel to the runway edge markings and the threshold markings. A lot of aliasing. Once on the runway, all is well. I do not have any aliasing with FSDreamteam airports: KLAS, KDFW and KORD. Their perfect. Just on stock FSX airports. Changes I make in NI doesn't appear to change it at all. I have tried several of the other examples but I think 4 of 6 is the better. All aircraft, stock FSX and add-ons appear to be ok with no aliasing outside or on the VC that I can detect.     Hi Paul, Steve, First of all 'Happy Holidays' from the Netherlands. Thank you very much for your efforts in aiding our community in the transition to DX10. Your help has certainly been useful to my FSX setup. After installing the 3.2.1 shaders I opted for deleting the Shader10 folder, assuming this folder would be rebuilt when re-starting FSX in DX10 mode. Alas the rebuilding did not occur. As a result I am seeing course textures when starting up my flight of choice and flashing taxi lines on aprons. Performance wise I don't see any loss. I've done a registry repair which did not help the matter. Do you have any suggestion on how to rebuild this folder? Much appreci…

    Not sure if this is the right forum or not but I have a few questions. I saw this topic in the AVSIM Hardware and Software guide and I want to know if: 1. Does this also apply if I'm using DX10 Preview 2. I found a bunch of .BMP files that were converted to .DDS files using ConvimX. Do I delete the .BMP files and copy these files to the folder the .BMP files were in? (FSX\Scenery\Global\Texture) Thanks in-advance..

  24. Took two hours yesterday to apply the final DX10 instructions & tweaks from the AVSIM Hardware and Software Guide. Wow, I was quite impressed! Did a quick flight under clear skies from Prince Rupert on the West Coast and the water, scenery and airport looked so close to reality.... Absolutely no shimmers nor stutters while looking around the VC with TrackIr on three monitors. The only fps fluctuations occur when flying under heavy clouds. I wonder if it is because of the weather download/update of REX in the background. My clouds are set to 2048 with the recommended DXT5. Using the 4xSGSS-4xS on NI.     I've got my rig running DX10 pretty smoothly with my setup and the help of Paul and others here. Thank you. I'm thinking of trying out ENB or Sweetfx to add some drama to the views but I see that they do some sort of adjustment to the shaders so my question is would using ENB or Sweetfx interfere with the shaders from Steve for DX10 or mess up my DX10 setup now. I've used default Bloom and my system handles it without a hiccup but Bloom is too overexposed for my liking.
