    Been seeing a lot of posts over at FTX and here about DX10 working pretty good and a link to the site to go get all the various "patches" from. I see a lot of stuff has been fixed, I was wondering though what stuff in the base sim still is broken in DX10 mode? I think all my addons will be compatible. My FSGenesis mesh of course shouldn't be an issue and I already know REX, OrbX scenery, and my one addon plane (QW Avro) is DX10 compatible (I know OrbX has the odd lights problem in clumps but I'm ok with that). Except for a couple of freeware airports with physical scenery upgrades, all the rest of my airports are Ray Smith AFCAD type files that re-use default scener…

    Hi, Really want to thank you all your guys for your outstanding work and passion for making FSX better and better every day and year with all the tweaks. I think i am on top of a max system right now allthough i am in doubt how often you might mistakenly override files with the shader3.0=1 or shade in FSX.cfg ? Sometimes a DX9 scenery comes along and you want to see if it is better than DX 10 :-) My system runs pretty well in the low 20´s in majour airports with the NGX but smooth so i just diable the FRAPS :-) This is summertime. In winter time my system runs even better and how would you explain that? Does a system give you more frames if the temp is lower? …

    I'm running FSX in DX-10 mode. I use OpusFSX with HDEV2 (Glover). I also fly with MSEv2 scenery. I'm not even sure this is a DX-10 problem, but I know there are some gurus in here that might be able to help. My sky environment is ugly. The worst part is the concentric rings in the sky. Also, when I am close to clouds, they look very blotchy, almost as if they are very low resolution. I'm sure the two problems are related. Any ideas on how to fix this?

During the last few years I was more involved in military flight sims (IL2, DCS A-10 mostly) but I now feel the need to restart some activity in civilian sims...     Hello everyone, I don't know where to start from as there are so many of them! And in the end I had to revert back to DX-9 I request my fellow pilots to help me out step-to-step on how to completely move on to DX-10(With all new fixes & patches) and its installation. I just have the shader release v 3.2.2 file, Also mention any changes needed in CFG or Nvidia inspector , I wish to completely switch to DX-10 as it did wonders to many .     Do you need to restart NI, FSX or your computer when you try to change something in NI ? I am messing around with various options to try and elminiate shimmering and/or jagged lines on the runways (the only place I really have awful visuals) and nothing seems to be happening so I am guessing I am doing something wrong here.

  7. I've done some searching and can't find any answers on this. Not sure if it's just a DX10 issue, but the green and white rotating airport beacon has an annoying cone that extends from the light source and rotates around with the beacon. Is this a known issue, and Is there any fix for this?

    Hi All, As you may recall I tried DX10 about a month ago, but suffered a few more stutters and couldn't get to grips with the new Anti Aliasing at-all so reverted back to DX9. An annoying turning finals in the NGX deploy gear then ooooh CTD! Has made me consider giving DX10 another go. The real downer for me was the increased micro stutters and even more the AA - With DX9 using 4xAA, 16xAni and setting the slider in to Quality as opposed to performance gave me just the right level of AA in the virtual cockpit, none of the lines on the displays were jagged and looked as they should. With DX10 all I could see was jagged lines and ugliness... Any tips her…

    Hi, Everything with the install/mod went without a hitch. Made no changes to my nvidia settings, but added the AA checked in FSX. Now, I hope this does not sound like a complaint, but what am I supposed to experience now that DX10 is working? Everything looks and feels the same. Frames are still the same (locked at 30 front and back end). I see some minor issues with lights with the ORBX sceneries but that is all. Bob

    Hey guys, tried reading through the other SweetFX topics and could find my answer. Recently converted to DX10, all going smooth so far! Only hitch is that when I try to install SweetFX 1.4, it doesn't even affect the graphics at all. I know that some AA can conflict with SweetFX, so I've made sure all AA is disabled in NVIDIA Inspector, in FSX itself, and for good measure, in the SweetFX config, still no go. I've installed all the SweetFX files as per the readme into the main FSX folder, including the specific DX10/11 files. What am I doing wrong?

    After flight simming since the Commodore Vic-20 days, I stumbled across the DX-10 fixes and all of the helps and tips given here. As many others have said, it has given new life to FSX. I have X-Plane 10 and am looking at P3D but I am still partial to old "FSX" and really appreciate what many have done here to make it even better - thanks!

    So, I just made the plunge from DX9 to DX10. Installed all the tweaks as per the guide. However I let REX take over rwy lighting with no problems so far at dusk/night. So far looks like all my mods/planes are working so I'm happy. However I'm totally confused on the guide for AA. I have AA checked in the sim, aniso set to tri-linear. I've set NI to my same DX9 settings of 4xS AA and 2xSGSS. I read in the guide to add the following lines to the fsx.cfg MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 MultiSampleQuality=8 I also changed MultiSamplesPerPixel to 2 since I understand MS should match the SGSS number. With the lines in the cfg or not I couldn't seem to tell a difference…

    It appears that the forum for Flightbeam is down/gone... So let me ask. I have DX10 running pretty good...till I go to land at Flightbeams' KPHX! Any Ideas or thought's on this would be great. He had already told me when the forums were up that the airport was not DX10 compatible. I would love to get the light's working in DX10.

    Hi Guys I have some really strange things happening with some AI aircraft I currently use UT2 for my aircraft and all works fine however, I decided to download and use the AIG flightplans so that I can get some static aircraft at KPAE and be able to use the new UTT 787 AI aircraft, but once UT2 is up and running and my AI aircraft are loaded my 787 aircraft appear a transparent blue colour that does not seem to want to revert to the normal colours.
