After a lot of fiddling and cursing, my buddy introduced me to multiplayer this weekend. Flying the Harrier in the Caucasus map, using Discord for comms, all I can say is wow! What a fantastic experience. It's the first time, for a long time, that I have experienced some real excitement in 12 years of simming! This is certainly a steep learning curve for me, but it's proving very worthwhile 😃

Forgive me if this is a known issue, as I suspect it may be, but I have failed to find anything truly helpful in my searches. As a newbie to DCS, I am rather perplexed at the trees that seem to pop into place while flying. This happens even beneath the aircraft. My rig is more than capable of driving DCS, or any other sim TBH, with perfectly acceptable performance. But it looks like the old problem of slow loading autogen. My settings are all set to iintermediate, graphics set inside DCS, with shadows switched off. Playing around with MSAA has no effect, neither does reducing sliders in the control panel. Is this a known issue and if so, is there any talk about it being r…

Born on May 2012, Situational Awareness at www.sa-sim.com is the first organization focusing on the online action of the top-notch PC-based combat flight simulators. One of the initial acts of the organization was the establishment of a computer ranking system that provided fair analysis of a player’s performance. The SA Rankings began with Eagle Dynamics’s Flaming Cliffs simulator on 1st of January 2012 and has continued through today as the official ranking system for virtual combat pilots flying and fighting in DCS World simulator. DCS stands for Digital Combat Simulator and is a free-to-play digital battlefield game, focusing on military aircraft, ground and naval …

So many questions, hard to be a newbie after decades of knowing my FS world inside out 😁 ! 1/ How to easily select the airport you want to fly ? Instant action and fast mission choose one for me, not necesseraly the one I want to fly from. I want to do TnG in Sir Abbu Nuayr for instance. 2/ Is there a way to know the prevailing wind ? No ATC option that I can see when starting ready to go on a runway ? 3/ I saw on some screenshots or YT clip, some simmers had a red transparent window on the bottom left showing the position of alll the HOTAS and pedals axes ? Where is the option for that ? 4/ IIs there a way to tune the elevator trimmer button wh…

Ron kindly asked me what I thought of my brand new Albatros on the bargain channel forum. Download and installation went well. Still in the process of mapping my Warthog (I hate that). One thing that may help others. My throttle was inactive because the axis was assigned somewhere else in the game. Found the conflct after 45 minutes. I was in excellent mood then 😠. I've had countless hours in the Lotus Simulations bird that I love. So I did make of fool of myself in the small Caucasus airfield where I flew two circuits but, at least, I didn't kill myself. Landed right in the middle with a moderate to loud thump but nothing broken, either me or the Albat…

I've been doing my training until now with the manual which is fine for me. I found today that there is a training module but the coach speaks Russian and the subtitles are too small for me. I didn't find a way to switch to a coach speaking English . Is there one that I didn't find ? Also is the Kursant campaign spoken in Russian too ?

*****DCS**Fw 190A-8**** ***PRE**ORDER**NOW*AVAILABLE*** https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c...oducts/planes/ "Designed for the German Luftwaffe by famed aircraft designer Kurt Tank in the late-1930s, the Fw 190 was the backbone of the Luftwaffe in both fighter and attack bomber roles. Powered by a large radial engine, the A version of the Focke-Wulf 190 was superior in many ways to the Bf 109s and Spitfires at the time of its introduction. In fact, this led to the development of the Mk.IX version of the Spitfire. The Spitfire LF Mk.IX and the Fw 190 A-8 make excellent counterparts for DCS World. The Fw 190 later evolved into the Fw 190 D-9, also available on DCS Worl…

Well, I've been simming for the past 10 years, first FSX, then SE and for the past few years P3D. I have to say I love my NGX in P3Dv4, but I am at a cross roads and want to explore some different flying. After my buddy exposed me to his Harrier in DCS and held my hand on a mission, I am hooked! I now have DCS well and truly installed on my 1Tb drive alongside a newly acquired Harrier 2! So I just wanted to drop by and introduce myself and say hi 😊

I found some old posts in various flight sim threads discussing GoFlight modules using GoFlight's GF Keys software. It's a 32 bit app that ran under previous Windows versions, but no mention of Windows 10 or 64 bit software. People were successful using GoFlight modules to send key presses to DCS aircraft. Anyone have any familiarity with the software? Thanks! Bob

OK, maybe I'm a numpty. It would be nice if when you're trying to set up your HOTAS for the sim, that you could actually click the button you want to add rather than having to guess or refer to a drawing of the joystick buttons every time. Your thoughts? Plus why is ED forums such a word not allowed at letting you reset passwords. I am a human, yet it refuses to let me in!

Magnitude III, LLC just released the Christen Eagle II for DCS. While I prefer combat flight sims, hence DCS being my sim of choice, I do appreciate a well developed module and have plenty of experience in both FSX and X-Plane. I'm a professional pilot by trade, so flying around on autopilot in my spare time isn't really my go-to anymore. That said, $30 for a fully-developed CE2 that works great in VR, is way cheaper than the $300/hr it would be to go get a few hours IRL. The only thing missing is the G's. Hope you guys enjoy and I'm looking forward to being a part of the community!
