As many of you know DCS is developing a Fighting Falcon block 50 Looks like The Viper is a high priority on DCS Aircraft Development list....... from Wags......... "While the F-4E is still planned, we have other modules in higher priority like the Hornet, Yak-52, Mi-24, F-16, and AH-1. Focus on the F-4E will come once we clear several of these projects. So, I would not expect any F-4E news for quite some time."

F4U-1D Corsair So we’re pretty sure you’re ready to have your Mk II Eyeballs cringe with excitement, and have mentioned for months the Whistling Death is going through texture conversion for physically based rendered textures. Our artist has almost completed retexturing of all enclosed or hard to access parts and objects, after that he will proceed with the large airframe areas. This should take far less time, after which we can move on to cockpit retexturing. Hopefully, by the time we post our next update, we will be able to show you a complete or near complete external model. Below, is our work in progress sneak peeks, but do keep in mind they are WIP and not finali…

***FROM DCS**NEW CARRIER**WIP*** " One of the many detailed aspects of the new Nimitz-class aircraft carrier being worked on is a detailed simulation of the catapult shuttle and hold back. Here we have a little preview of it some of its animations. Our goal is to create the most realistic aircraft carrier environment ever done for a simulation for both entertainment and professional use. This not only includes the most accurate carrier model, but also the most accurate deck crew animations and communications. Thanks!"

Hey guys, I am thinking about purchasing dcs for the first time. And I am indecisive of what aircraft to choose. Payware that is. I am tossing up between the F14 F16 or the F18, which I will be a beginner at flying these types of birds. I will also be purchasing the thrustmaster Hotas worthog. any other addons I may need? I have always been an aviation enthusiast, and have been flying on P3d and msfs. Sothis will be a completely new experience to me. thank you. mike

So this question isn't related to DCS specifically, but since the F-16 in DCS is so much more advanced than in other sims, I figured I would ask here. So I just bought an F-16 addon for MSFS. Now I obviously know it's not super advanced version but a decent representation and is getting an upgrade to the cockpit this year. I also have the VRS Superbug for P3D which is close to study level I think. With the F/A-18 it's easy to pickup speed when you point the nose down even just a little bit, but in the F-16 I find it really easy to bleed off speed while descending fairly steep descent rate. How accurate is that behavior to the DCS version or even the real thing? …

New images of “Syria Map”… This week our third-party Ugra Media announced that DCS: Syria is approaching it’s final stages of development. This map covers most of the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, it includes several climatic zones and territories of 5 states - Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. Since the times of Ancient Egypt, the Roman and Ottoman empires, large-scale wars were fought across these lands. Thousands of years ago these battles were fought with swords and arrows, today these areas have become the theatres of grandiose air combat simulation. During the Arab-Israeli confrontation, Soviet MiGs, American Phantoms…

***P-47 UPDATE*** :"Warbirds In addition to completing the final touches to the Spitfire (fuel tanks and bombs), our other primary focus has been the P-47D. More so than any other warbird though, this has been the biggest challenge due to the lack of data. Following the war, all wind tunnel and needed flight dynamics data was destroyed. To overcome this, we are using Flow Vision to recreate the needed data. This has proven a long and expensive endeavor. However, to create the detailed flight dynamics that DCS requires, we consider it mandatory.
