I'm trying to create a panel for a Super Puma MK1 (AS332L)in FS2004. I fly these for real on the North Sea - please feel free to ask any questions! I used the AS332L model from the Chinese Coast Guard as a basis and then used the bitmap from an AS332L2 panel as the background.I wanted to use the dials from the Dauphin which are very similar to the AS332L's. Most of the dials work apart from the ADI and the RADALT. The ADI appears like it has no power and just topples. The RADALT just does not work. I checked that the ADI power supplies were the same in both panel.cfg's. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Adrian.

Hello,I have been flying helis in FS for a couple of years and had dabbled around with autorotations but only recently started doing them seriously. Before I had only been able to autorotate the Bell 206 JetRanger but on Friday night I started trying to autorotate the R-22. It didn't go so well, but by lunchtime on Saturday I had made my first autorotation that both I AND the R-22 could walk/fly away from.;-) Since then I safely made 14 more in the R-22 and 1 more in the 206 (that's because I only tried once). Let me just say I think if you are trying to learn how to autorotate in FS, you should learn to autorotate in the JetRanger first and once you have that masterd yo…

I have been flying rotor aircraft for some time since FS2002 (I'm curently flying both '02 and ACOF) and I've recently run across a few interesting problems. I downloaded a Sikorsky 70A package from Hovercontrol, installed all of the various versions, and when I go to fly the aircraft I cannot get the engines to start. Note: when I start to sim, I start with a dark cockpit and the engine off. Can someone please point me to what I what I am missing or what needs to be fixed? The second part of my question has to do with helicopters outside of this package. I downloaded and installed a CH53 and while I am able to get the engines started, I cannot generate enough RPMs to the…

Hi,My name is Tom and I'm new to this forum. I want to say hello to everyone.I recently downloaded on AVSIM a very nice ai model of the Sikorsky HH-60J Jayhawk in Coast Guard livery. Although, I am familiar with using Lee Swordy's AFCAD and TTools for fixed wing ai aircraft, This is the first time I have tried to get an ai helicopter to fly.So far, I have placed helipads and starting points but I don't know how to set up a parking place and runway for the helicopter. If I use the standard AFCAD setup, the helo behaves like a fixed wing aircraft. I remember reading somwhere that there is a "trick" to get the helo to behave more realistically.Any help, tips, and/or tricks w…

Ok, these are some basic questions so forgive my ignorance.I'm quite new to simulation, my only experience having played a little with Enemy Engaged. I'm finishing a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and I'm developing a very simple flight dynamic model for helicopters, which is generic but I'm focusing on the Westland Lynx since is the one for which I have the most information (fuselage aerodynamic coefficients, fist flapping frecuencies, etc...). I just want to jump from the mathematics and know how it feels in reality. With this background in mind, here are the questions:1. Helicopter controlsI want to spend a reasonable amount of money, say no more than 200-250$. Sin…

When flying helicopters in FS9 or FSX, for some reason i cannot fly in a straight line. When flying a plane there is no problem. My helicopters insist on turning slightly to the left & to counteract i constantly have to twist my joystick to fly level or when my wrist starts to ache i fly at an angle.I'm using a Saitek X52 joystick & all the tests i've done say that the joystick is centred correctly, yet whilst in virtual view in FSX the rudder peddles are visibly out of sync, the right peddle is slightly back compared to the left.I apologise if this is the wrong forum for this problem but i was hoping a Rotor head might have a better idea as to what may be going w…

Avsim's Senior Staff Reviewer Steve "Bearracing" Cartwright has pulled out all the stops and written an extensive tutorial on flying helicopters in Fs2004. After many hours of practice, Steve has managed to conquer the art of flying rotary-wing aircraft.Knowing the time and effort it takes to learn to fly them, Steve has written a tutorial based on his experiences to try and help others master the skill of flying these inherently unstable machines. He has also included a highly detailed series of screenshots to accompany this tutorial which really captures some of the excitement which goes with flying these beasts. You can read the full tutorial here http://www.avsim.com/…

OK guys, here's the situation. :-)I know little about sim helos; they are an area I have neglected in FS.You guys however are the experts, so hopefully you can help me out.I have toyed with the default R22, and more-or-less mastered it with sliders fully maxed. What I would appreciate now are some pointers on the best freeware helos out there. Can you guys please offer your top 3 picks, with reasons why? Good Flight models and VCs are a plus, advanced systems are a major plus. :-)Preferably non-military but like I said, you guys are the experts, so any great choppers, please sing out.Your help is much appreciated, thanks for helping a rotary newbie out!Cheers

Howdie Folks,After a thread was started here the other day with regards to a dedicated area to search for helicopter uploads, it has now been instigated. Searching for your favorites should now be alot quicker and save you having to wade through the complete Fs2002 Aircraft listing. What we need to do now is populate it. There are many files out there that many do not know about, and only come to light if mentioned in a forum thread. To that end, if you know of a helicopter file that does not currently exist in our library or can make a recommendation then please do so. If you find something then please feel free to email me and I can get in contact with the author and s…

I'm not sure what has happened to my settings, but I can't get a helicopter off the ground now.I haven't flown MSFS2004 in months, but I purchased a new video card and wanted to see how much it helps when flying helicopters. I am able to fly the fixed wing aircraft with no trouble, so my joystick is working normally as far as I can tell. When I click Fly Now and the game puts me into the cockpit of the helicopter (I tried the add-on Hughes 500, stock 206 and the add-on 222c) and all looks well. The motor is running the rotor is turning and everything seems normal. When I push my throttle forward (the way I was able to lift off in the past) the torque drops and the helicopt…
