The abovementioned air show took place on Saturday 14th June at London Biggin Hill Airport. The weather wasn't the best for photos but I got a few decent ones. P-51D: B-17G Flying Fortress "Sally-B": Spitfire Mk IX: Messerschmitt Bf109: Trig Aerobatic Team in Pitts Specials: and finally... The RAF Red Arrows. A pity the clouds came back over to make a rather murky evening.

On a late Friday afternoon, back in April 2003, I had the chance to attend a guided visit to Brussels Airport old Tower. Excellent view over the A pier and it's old apron, and the 02/07R runway intersection. On top of that, 02/07R was in use for landings/take offs. This Sobelair B767 was being pushed back for starting its overnight flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. I stumbled upon these pictures yesterday evening and wanted to try out this popular technique called Tilt Shifting. Albeit, post processing it in my photoshop program. Very first test... I like it. But there is room for improvement...

While I was trying out my new Nikon P520 yesterday, I heard a plane in the distance, zoomed (waaaay) in, and snapped this. I'm not sure what exactly it is. Anyone know?

I've been on a month long vacation touring the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest. I come home tomorrow, the 29th, and a few days ago had the chance to take a GC Heli flight. Here are some pictures of that wonderful flight---enjoy! Cactus

A friend sent this to me. Interesting bit of history of early aviation! Every so often, usually in the vast deserts of the American Southwest, a hiker or a backpacker will run across something puzzling: a large concrete arrow, as much as seventy feet in length, sitting in the middle of scrub-covered nowhere. Turns out it is part of the early Transcontinental Airmail Route. On August 20, 1920, the United States opened its first coast-to-coast airmail delivery route, just 60 years after the Pony Express closed up shop. There were no good aviation charts in those days, so pilots had to eyeball their way across the country using landmarks. This me…

Just thought I'd share a few images I got of my trip to Dubai onboard Emirates A380-861 A6-EEG (only 1 month old at the time) routing MAN-DXB! Boarding! Pushed back. Flaps retracted and taxing, they are huge and noisy! These wings are also built here in the UK about 30 miles from Manchester! Almost at 23R, behind a BA 320. And up we go! This aircraft really does catch the wind! The M6 motorway just below the wing as we had out towards Warrington before the big right turn to head East. The Cabin. Enjoying an episode of Top Gear whilst watching the onboard camera! The touch screen remote, which also doubled up as a way of…

Hi, A few from the field from at Myrtle Avenue on Saturday afternoon, weather was decent for the most part but the sun did a disappearing act on a couple of annoying occasions! Still getting to grips with a new camera but I had a day of fun (and burnt my bald spot...). These have been shrunk as they were going into another forum but I've been having difficulty posting recently so I thought I'd experiment here while I had them handy. The world's fastest helicopter. The pilot was in his heaven finding as many unlikely attitudes as he could. The world's fastest helicopter in its new clothes: This looks like it's sole purpose is to spread death. A 'classic British icon' to most people younger than me but I went through my transition from comfortably ignorant child to (comfortably ignorant) adult at the depth of th…

Hi, Had a cracking day at Schiphol at the start of the month, only did the obsevation platform, but got some nice ones all the same. Heat haze made photographing the far stuff rather awkward, and we only got a few freighters, but you cant have everything!! I just recently got done a dream trip of mine.. Taking a train cross country.. I went from Philadelphia to Seattle (and stayed a week) via the Cardinal, and then Empire Builder. Then Seattle to LA via the Coast Starlight and stayed a week and then back home to the Philly area via the California Zephyr and Cardinal... Best trip of my life... While in Washington State one of the first things I wanted to see was the Pacific Ocean.. The easiest place to get there from my hotel in Tacoma was Ocean Shores.. Anyone who knows the area also knows one of the most popular Orbx airports is on the way to Ocean Shores and I couldn't resist stopping in and having a burger.. Quaint l…
