Doing some missions work out here for a few weeks. We took a 2 hour flight with SIMAIR (missionary ran charter service) to get to Maradi where we are staying. Plane was a Piper Saratoga. Cruise was at 9,000 feet /130-140 knots. Extremely smooth flight until the gear came down for landing. Weather was perfect but the constant dust in the atmosphere limits visibility pretty badly.Internet is really slow here so I'm not uploading a ton of the pictures.I finally got a real lesson on how setting the mixture works throughout the flight. Pretty interesting. We ran 14 gallons an hour most of the flight. The runway in Maradi is a loose fine rock and there's no terminal. Nice to par…

A friend and I set out to produce a full length documentary taking you through a typical VFR flight , and talking about becoming a pilot. The goal of the documentary is to introduce kids my age (17) Into aviation and get them flying. The following is a 40 second teaser trailer, that shows off some of the things we will be showing in the film, a longer full length trailer is coming soon! If you like it, let me know! And if you really like it, share this video with others! :Make sure you watch in HD!

Shalom and greetings all my pals,Sorry about poor quality photo that was taken many many moon years ago. When I was very little boy long long long long time ago before I knew what the term airport spotter was, I used cheap disposal Kodak camera to take COOL picture of two DC10s pushing back from gates of KLGA LaGuardia airport. The DC10 in front was going to KDFW (I was at that gate where I could see the departure info in front of check in) and I had no idea where the other DC10 was going to since it was from the gate further down the hall but I guessed it would be KORD or KMIA. Here is photo!!! If any Photoshop wizard wants to take crack at improving the quality of this…

I flew on a flight from Dayton Ohio to Charlotte the other day and decided to video part of the takeoff and landing. unfortunately the window at which I sat was filthy and had numerous scratches. so the video is not really up to par with what i prefer to put on YouTube, but it is better than nothing. Enjoy

These are some shots of my flight to Bois Blanc Island in Northern Michigan. Mackinac Island is just west of Bois Blanc, you can see the Mackinac Bridge in the last photo, but I was about 10 miles or so, so the quality isn't the best. Enjoy. The second to the last shot shows the island, wish I could have stayed longer, but my flight school requires that if we use the planes overnight, we need to put at least 3 hours per day on them. It sure was worth it to fly though, shave about 2 1/2 hours off the trip had we drove.

I posted some of these in PMDG's General Forum already, but they might be better of here.Especially since they are from a view most people don't get to experience every day.All of them, together with some others, are available in higher resolutions on Flickr.© krivadesign-18.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr© krivadesign-15.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr© krivadesign-17.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr© krivadesign-13.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr© krivadesign-12.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr© krivadesign-11.jpg by Thomas | KriVaDesign, on Flickr

We had a very rare visitor today at a local airport (Dupage Airport, code: KDPA). That visitor was FiFi - the world's only flying B-29 Superfortress, the bomber which released nuclear weapons during WWII (not this bomber itself though). Without further to do, here are the pics and a few videos too!Fifi by KORDspotting, on FlickrNX39MX by KORDspotting, on FlickrP-51 Taxi Out by KORDspotting, on FlickrStarting #3 by KORDspotting, on FlickrFifi Taxiing Out by KORDspotting, on FlickrEngine Warm Up by KORDspotting, on FlickrClimb Out by KORDspotting, on FlickrRollout by KORDspotting, on FlickrHere is a video to get to know the sound of those engines!http://www.flickr.co...in…

Hey guys,Wasn't really sure where to post this or if anyone's ever had this problem themselves...This morning during my GIB turnaround I noticed a storm fly (??) so the Captain said, walking around behind my LCD on the laptop, inside it! The Captain said to just leave it till I get home and hopefully it would just die somewhere out of view and where it wouldn't cause a problem...well it seems that all the use throughout the day and being thrown in my flight case has killed it, in the middle of the screen, and now it's stuck! Anyone know any easy solutions to this? I really don't fancy taking it apart to use compressed air to remove it, but do I have a choice?Cheers,SamED…
