The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Some screenies from the continuation of my four corners' project. Still haven't scheduled a time to upload it, since there's 50 GB of data so far to get into the library which would be approx 100 files. I will add the scenery state by state. Of course, Colorado is already there as some members have discovered. I am going to expand the scenery to the west coast before heading North--I hope to get the U.S. west of the Miss. river done by summer. These shots are out of Reno, Nevada headed over basin and range country into the Bonneville Salt Flats, in no specific order. Enjoy! JC

A trip back in time today, as we revive the First Choice A320. Following the absorption of First Choice Airways into the Thomson brand, this airframe is retired and now serving with Monarch Airlines. Some shots from beautiful Palma de Mallorca, taking 120 unhappy holidaymakers back to a rainy (we assume) Birmingham! Taxiing to runway 24R Holding short as an Air Berlin 737 arrives from Frankfurt Powering away from the runway The view from the passengers as we leave this island paradise behind Climbing away from 24R Turning left to follow the SID away from the island One of the very few clouds in the sky on a typically warm summer day …

Here are a couple of shots I took using Dino Cattaneo's F-35. Great jet with incredible animations and avionics. I would highly recommend this aircraft, or any of his projects. Also, SimHQ is hosting a drawing for the Saitek X-55. I've been flying with FSX since 2009, and I have yet to acquire a joystick, so it would be great if you could take a moment and "like", "share", "pin", or "tweet" it using the media bar above THIS image http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/galleries/3928862/Lockheed_Martin_F_35B_Lightnin#.Uy9rMZWPK00 Thanks for the support!! ps. I was planning on adding 6 or so more screenshots but the webpage glitched and would not let me add image…

Powering out on a dawn departure. Gotta love those reheats in this light! Thundering off 27L on a chilly morning. Passing the moon on our way to Mach 2. Accelerating through Mach 1.4 here and climbing fast. Almost at the Mach 1.7 cutoff. Getting darker since we're heading westbound and traveling faster than the earth rotates. Concorde makes the sun go down again, so these passengers will get two sunrises in one day. Pretty awesome, really. It'll be pitch black when we land in Barbados, arriving earlier than when we left London.

Just taken it for a very quick and dirty spin around EGMH. Initial impressions are excellent - JF really do appear to have upped their game here. The VC is awesome and the flight model felt pretty nice. A few shots from my Canberra's maiden flight.....

Using the default FSX DG-800. The Aerosoft DiscusX! is also very good! CumulusX! combines perfectly with ASN - we just have to disable the up/down drafts and thermals in ASN. CumulusX!-generated clouds are 3d objects and cast shadows on the ground, as you can see. There are also options for birds thermalling with us near the most powerful thermal sources :-)

From what I've read on teh interwebs, G-BBYE was built in 1949, 1950 or 1953, take your pick! I do know that in 1994 she suffered a collapsed undercarriage leg whilst landing in a 16knt crosswind and subsequently groundlooped! Thankfully no one was hurt although she needed a bit more than a new coat of paint! The cause of the failure was shot-peening which weakened the tensile outer layer of the spring. Moral? Use wet 'n' dry to rub down prior to painting. -_- Anyway, she as good as gold now. Real G-BBYE; My results: On AVSIM nowish.

I've never seen this done before and thought it might be an interesting exercise. FSX and XP10 head to head, making the same flight in the same aircraft showcasing the kind of addons each sim currently has to offer. The screenshots that follow are unedited and show both sims as they are installed on my PC right now. I also thought I'd offer some commentary and observations along the way, primarily from the perspective of a long time MSFS user who is still relatively new to XP. These are just my opinions, I'm not trying to promote one sim at the expense of the other. Both have strengths and weaknesses and it is of course up to the individual to determine their relative mer…
