The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

VenturaSky is a Lua script by frontendrob that tweaks certain aspects of X-Plane's atmosphere and weather, see the VS thread here. It depends on the NOAA Python script, SkyMaxx Pro and Real Weather Connector. Besides the script, matching sky colors and a preset for MaxxFX post-processing are included. I took the following screenshots at different places with all VS settings at default and sky colors and MaxxFX preset active. Alps: New York: Telluride: Boston: Australia (near Sydney)

Hi, after our forum member Bernd posted stunning pictures from a flight to Lukla these days, I wanted to continue this adventure. I tried to reach Everest Base camp with a quite old, but still thrustworthy helicopter, the Mi-2. Will I see Mt. Everest? Remember: The Mi-2 has a service ceiling of slightly more than 13,000 feet, while the Everest Base Camp has an elevation of more than 17,000 ft. No good prospects... I won't bore you with the engines start procedure in the Mi-2. Up into the thin air (Lukla has some 9,300 ft) What's behind the cloud? And this is the moment I was scared of. Have to return, the heli refuses to climb further. This …

I recently came across a freeware scenery called FSX Kauai and combined it with FTX Global Freeware Airports Pack 6. I found the combo pretty impressive, here are some screenshots of a flight between Lihue and Barking Sands: In order to get the two sceneries to play nice you need to disable the following files: In FSX/AddonScenery/The Hawaiian Islands - Kauai/scenery/ PHBK.bgl PHBK_CVX.bgl PHLI.bgl PHLI_CVX.bgl In FSX/Orbx/FTX_GLOBAL/FTX_FTXG_AIRPORTS ADE_FTX_FTXG_PHLI_CVX.bgl ADE_FTX_FTXG_PHBK_CVX.bgl Once these files are disabled, the two sceneries lay atop each other very nicely, creating a very comprehensive and accura…

I haven’t flown this bird in ages, so dust and cobwebs had a healthy dose of time to spread all over it. But finally she was ready to take to the skies again. (ORBX Monterey, SoCal and Palm Springs) As one can see, our free-of-cobwebs-plane was filled to capacity The scenery changed fairly frequently We pass over Banning Before reaching the Palm Springs area we pass over a fairly large casino complex in the middle of nowhere: the Morongo Casino Resort It is obvious that we fly IFR Finally we reach our destination Thanks for viewing

  20. ...and this is the result...coming into CYTZ at Dawn... ...and then heading out once more....back to Michigan

  21. I finally came to terms with the stupid pop-up window after I had reinstalled the Do 228. After the first install it constantly re-appeared. Not anymore. Now she works like a charm, and flies fantastic. We haven’t been friends the first time we met, but as the old saying goes: “Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”
