Hi Flight UnlimitersLong time absence... Still hope the ol' crowd is as lenient as ever...Anyone bought the latest MSFS 2004 CoF? Would you like to voice an opinion (not a flame war about which is the best sim again please). Money down here in my pocket is as slow as ever, so I usually don't just jump out and buy yet another wall flower. This forum is usually the best one to ask for the usually less biased opinions, as I see most of the names of you all still in many subjects posted.RegardsPieter

Hi Folks,Here's some previews of the Blanik soaring around "Twin Peaks" - this time with full textures - and a pilot! The aircraft and package will be released together so you will have somewhere new to try it out ;) In the mean time, enjoy the shots!Glidin' past...http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/31610.jpgWing camera(!?!)http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/31611.jpgCruising in a thermalhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/31612.jpgSame thermal, different direction ;)http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/31613.jpgFloating over the ridgehttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/31614.jpg:-waveJon Point*************************([email protected])*************************

Subject: FU3 AirlinesAfter every flight, pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, whichconveys to the mechanics any problems encountered with the aircraftduring the flight that needs repair or correction. The mechanics read and correct the problem, and then respond in writing on the lower half of the form what remedial action was taken, and the pilot reviews the gripe sheets before the next flight. Here are some actual logged maintenance complaints and problems as submitted by FU3 pilots and the solution recorded by maintenanceengineers.By the way, FU3 Airlines is the only major FU3 airline that has never had an accident:(P = The problem logged by the pilot.) I have just finished upgrading Swanson to 2004 standard, and here is a screenshot. It shows a massive number of trees, together with a glidernut hangar, a couple of fuel tanks, and a couple of new buildings in the distance. You will need a decent CPU here, since the tree density is considerable. Still, who cares eh ? :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.

I just updated my Geforce drivers to ver. 45.23 from 41.09 and FU3 will not work. I reverted to the old driver, but now I have some little bug from going back to them. Does anyone have a thought on how to get FU3 to work with the new driver, or how to completely remove the new one and do a clean install of the old. I am running Win98se. Thanks

I just found my original disk for FU1 and it brought back some warm fuzzy memories. Only thing is I know that the DOS version is a pain in the A$$ to get to run in WinXP. I was wondering if anyone knew of a working link or would be willing to file transfer the Win95 version. I got the demo to work and I just about jizzed myself!!! I haven't touched this baby in 5 or 6 years. I read some of the earlier posts from around Sept that expalined that there was a link that had the download but the file is no longer there. I would appreciate any help!Stewartyou can email me at [email protected]

Has anyone here considered building a flyable Airbus plane for FU3 ? I would love to be able to take an A330-200 into the skies above San Francisco and Seattle.Consider this a begging note :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Hello FU3 flightsimmers,I can present you now the fourth beta package of my new high quality AI-upgrade for FU3. News in this package: -> All of the new HQ models B747, B737, MD-88 are now replaced in their HQ-versions also in their mid-distances. So the mistake of unusual "model flippings" in mid distances (~300meter away) should be fixed now. -> I created some new trainer textures. Now we have three different trainer outfits. -> One of the new trainer C172 (red one) replaces the Chinook, the other one (light blue) the UFO.Have fun with this little upgrade and enjoy it! :-)Best regardsAnsgar P.S.: The final version of my B747-400 is in it

I have just noticed something very strange when making modifications to my Firstair Field package. I noticed a few trees directly under the approach to runway 25, and I made a note to look for these when I was using FLED. However, I cannot find them in FLED :-eek They are not part of the package itself, or any other package. They must be part of the default FU3 installation......but they are INVISIBLE in FLED :-eekI have noticed a similar situation with a bunch of trees just west of the runway 07 threshold at Aero Plaza. These trees are invisible when using FLED, but they are NOT part of the Aero Plaza upgrade package. Can anyone confirm this at all ? It is very strange. E…

I have just spent the last 45 mins listening to a BBC Radio program called Reunion which this week was all about the development and running of Concorde. Among the guests were politicians of the time(both for and against), witness's to the first flight, objectors and members of the first flight crew and it gave a good insight into Concorde as it nears the end of its life......for the time being. If you want to listen go to:http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/reunion/reunion3.shtml anc click on the "Listen again to the program" link. You will need Real Player - probably the latest version.Enjoy.Andy

Dear All,The moment is finally approaching where I'd appreciate some help with testing my latest toy - the Blanik L-13 ;)Being an unpowered glider it may be prudent for me to suggest that only those keen for gliding should apply - this is not an aircraft for cruising between strips as such. Of course, I'm probably wrong here and you'd all love to try it - I'll find out!So far, I would like to nominate my 'regulars' (Ansgar, Hans-Petter, Glidernut, RobD) but I would like to invite anyone else to have a go - you only have to play with it and tell me your thoughts. Steffen? Andy? Mr Hess? Please post your replies here (even if you don't want to test it - at least I'll know). …

Just for fun, here are some shots of an evening flight into storms.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30098.jpgTaxiing out - this is faked since I didn't manage to get a shot of Plymouth - sorry! I keep my plane in this hangar except when its raining (then I bring it outside since its drier in the rain than in the hangar).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30099.jpgSun setting, cloud build-up ahead. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30100.jpgGetting closer to storm. Clouds down to 500 ft at times. I could fly above them but that would be no fun. Safe, yes. Fun, no.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30101.jpgCouldn't take shots in the storm itself - too dark, rainy, light…

I'm getting a bit confused regarding which extra models will be necessary to include in my Seattle 2004 and SanFran 2004 packages (with permission, of course). I assume that any logs, tyres, fences, fuel tanks, light towers etc. that are not FU3 default will need to be included ? I am not sure that I have thought out this aspect very clearly in the past, and I want to get it right this time. Also, can everyone see the lighthouse models in the Seattle region ? In particular, can these be seen if you do NOT have the SanFran scenery installed ? Since they are part of the SanFran model set, is this a requirement for the models to be seen at all ?I don't really want to go insan…

Well, I said that I wasn't going to post any more screenshots of Seattle 2004.....but I lied ;-)1. Vashon Municipal, showing the tyre defined runway and new parking area.2. Parking area and part of the tyre defined runway at Cricket Field.3. Tyre defined runway and taxiways at Wax Orchards.4. Close up of the new log defined parking area at Wax Orchards. These are screenshots showing the post "runway and parking area" phase of construction. I still have to add other stuff like fuel tanks, fencing, hangars, towers etc.Chris Low,ENGLAND.

Just a note to let you know I did actually upload the transmission towers I mentioned the other day! These shots are just examples - I am releasing the models without a package for now. I do have a map of HV lines in the area though so I might do one or two packages to cover parts of the eastern half of the map if that seems a better idea. I don't suppose you'd want them everywhere, just near airports or on prominent hills, ridges and mountains ;)Near Kapowsin Field. Don't dilly-dally around at 250ftAGL, will you? http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/28846.jpgFurther along the line, looking back to Kapowsin. At least there are no wires to hit :-eekhttp://forums.avsim.com/use…

OK guys, I have replaced the logs at Asplund Field with some of Jon's tractor tyres. The narrow runway looks much better with these, and operations here will be somewhat more relaxed :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.
