Hello all,With SBuilderX I can make a photo underground polygon for FSX.What I would like to know is if I can make a larger one for Schiphol ( EHAM) to have all the fields surrounding the airport as well.To make that appear I have to set Manifold to a low resolution while I want 0,5m/p for the photo.With FsEarthTiles I can only make square photo undergrounds and not free hand polygons.Thanks in advance.

What determines the spatial extent of AFX scenery ? Is it a boundary fence ? an exclusion area ? Would like to slightly extend the airport grassy area in a particular airport to get rid of buildings etc from background scenery. I cannot find the answer to this question in the AFX manual. I suppose it is included in the BGL or XML file for the airport, but would like some easier GUI-way to do this, if possible.Thanks for any help.Dave Hinson

Hi all,I don't know if this is old news to you all, but you can now use Sketchup (much easier to use than GMAX or FSDS) to create buildings for FS9 and FSX. I would like to make some of the Greek islands as fotorealisk scenery. I heard about the program MAps2Bgl which could fetch "tiles" files off from Google Earth, process them and then provide photo-realistic scenery - nice VFR flight in 2000 fts height.I've tried the program but do not think it works as intended. When defining an area (a polygon) into Google Earth and save it as a KML file you can download this KML file into Maps2Bgl. But it is a bit random on success Maps2Bgl to retrieve the relevant tiles down. Sometimes no tiles are downloaded at all, other times there will not be enough.Are there any of you developers who have experience with the program and maybe can …

Hey guys im new to the avsim forums some of you may know me from other forums some may not anyway glad to be apart of the avsim forums. I need a little help.. Ive been working on my YSSY scenery for a long time now and i have come to a point where i am stuck. I know how to place aerial images into flight sim and use gmax but what i don't know how to do is clean up the aerial images properly. I know how to use the clone tool etc but it just doesn't look right. I have studied other companies textures for their base aerial or satellite images and they look very professionally edited so that when they lay textures over them it looks crisp and nice. Is it possible to replace the model used for the palm trees with another model ? I know there is an error in the way FSX displays some scenery tiles which results in there being palm trees in areas where they should not be. Is it possible to use an existing tree model and rename it as same as the one used as the palm tree ? Just wondering...Thanks

I'm creating my own photoscenery areas and I'm having a problem with a lower ordered scenery area showing through a higher ordered area per FS9 Scenery Library, e.g., in the reference image provided below, Area B appears in the library list before Area A.In this example, the eastern boundary of Area A is the second vertical blue line and the western boundary of Area B is the vertical green line. The overlap area is shown shaded in magenta. Disregard the unmasked water area. The areas marked 'Bleed' is where Area A is showing through Area B in the overlap area that should be controlled by Area B. I am attempting to relocate Coit Tower in San Francisco as it is incorrectly placed. Problem is I don't know where the object is originally. I created an exclude bgl using ExcBuilder but the tower still remains in its original location. I want to relocate it to Telegraph Hill where it belongs, not on the waterfront where it is now.I'm using FS9, Ultimate Terrain USA and a few scenery addons for the bay area none of which contain a bgl for this building. So how do I find the original bgl and where do I place a new one? I placed the one I made in FS9/Scenery/Namw with no effect. I have been using EZ Scenery by Abacus to make some sorely needed changes to a few default airports in FS9, ACOF. Especially in the area of adding Jetways to the default terminal building(s). One in particular is the terminal at Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have the correct number of jetways added, but can't seem to find in the vast libraries ones that come with correct numbering. Several of the jetways come with existing numbers, but do not identify it as a concourse A, B, C, etc jetway. As a partial fix, I took (gate A24 for example) an alphanumeric "A" and placed it on top of the jetway numbered "24". However functional, the result looks "tacky" at best. Is there a way wit…

I have searched the forums to no avail, so I am asking now. I have a high res sat image of a beautiul tropical island with great looking tropical water/reefs around it. It looks amazing in the sim, but I want to add the FSX water effects to the photoreal coral part. the island is in 2 parts, each image at just under 500 mb so I can still edit them.I have tried several different variations of grayscale, 8 bit water mask tiffs with the land being pure white and the water everywhere from light gray, to pure black and the results are still far from what I want. Hi gents,I have a problem with my scenery in MSFS. Unfortunatly my capabilities on the scenery front go as far as jus puchasing others excellent work so i would appreciate any help you could give.I have oodles of payware on my system and for some unknown reason I recently have been seeing grey rectangles squares near add on scenery and occassional in what I would call 'area' (few miles more the airport) scenery. . Do you have any ideas or if there is a quick fix. Hello,I want to make a hangar-model with LODs in FSDS 3.5.1. I made three models and called them according to the help-files with xxx_LOD_400, xxx_LOD_100 and xxx_LOD_010. I compiled the mdl, took it in a library and placed it with InstantScenery. But unfortunatly this doesn't work in FSX (+Acc.). I always see the original model, but not the LOD-models.I read somewhere that LODs didn't work in FSX (+Acc.). Is this really true? Or has someone found a solution for that? Honestly I cannot believe that it will not work!Bernhard

I have one or two addon airports where perfectly stationary aircraft will appear (say) to be well to the left of a yellow marker line on the ground when viewed from the left, but on the right hand side of the same line when you pan round to see the a/c from the right-hand side. a/c seem to slew around a central point as you pan up and down or around them. A bit disconcerting...I have cured one instance (at Aerosoft's GCGM) by removing the file gom_5_01.bgl - which I assume is some sort of flatten file (?) but at other airports where this happens I can find no file which, when removed, cures the problem. Is it possible to fix this? A new flatten file often cures odd level …

Hello,I'm new to the scenery thing. I trying to fix a few airports with some better scenery custom made for that airport. I need to make a whole new terminal with gates.I have already made the terminal in FSDS. Its a problem to place it exactly where I want it. Also I want to place at the gates the parking area outline on the concrete along with the gate number on the tramac. Just like it was painted there. Another area is along the taxiways there are big strips on the outside of the taxiway line and also hold short lights on the taxiway. hi,I fly over photoscenery only. I have noticed that default airports and photoscenery airports can be a few yards away. Is it possible to disable the default airports on a one by one basis? I would like to remove some default airports and hope that by doing so I woud get rid of the plateau effect. Thanks

I have reviewed the Effects SDK on the various parameters contained in an effects file but still cannot determine which parameter controls the height of chimney smoke plumes developed by various authors. I would like to shorten the height of some smoke plumes on selected stacks. Hoping someone can advise me of which parameter(s) they are.ThanksChris
