FSX/FSX-SE Aircraft and Panel Design Forum - How To

I have the referenced package loaded on my computer. When installing new aircraft, I reduce fuel load and do a quick flight test from Meigs to O'Hare (27R). I have attempted this 3x with referenced package and when at about2,000 feet or less on approach, the aircraft / panel disappears and defaults back to my desktop. No aircraft, panel, or FS 2002.Attempted to email Charles Fox at specified address. Message returned undeliverable. Correct address as given on "Readme" used.Looking for a fix on this one. Any ideas?Thanks.

I can't make any sense out of Microsoft's SDK. Are there any GOOD tutorials out there that gives an easy to follow guide and or a function list for XML gauges? Or perhaps a FREEWARE program that creates-not modifies gauges?If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Hey,Well I have a problem with the smoke system. I am trying to get them to come off my wingtips as they are suppose to on my A330. When I try to raise them, they dont go higher than the flaps deployed. Has anyone else had this problem to? How can we fix this, because they really are suppose to be coming off the winglets.Regards,BWIA330

Has anyone found a GOOD CRJ panel?I keep finding a number of decent planes but the panels are either incomplete or only marginally accurate.

Gotta new sound file for the C421 with very nice prop sync fxs. But these effects are not linked to the prop sync switch. You only hear those sounds for some time when change the throttle or the prop setting, until the props sync again.Actually the prop sync switch is there for nothing. Turn it off or on it is a placebo.Is it possible to adjust the sound.cfg in a way, that you can hear the props getting out of sync when u turn prop sync off. That would be just great.Every advice is highly appreciated.Alex

Several of the downloaded aircrafts (not the POSKY) give me error message "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 was unable to load some 3rd party software. The software will be deleted"Under this message the full path to the software is shown which shows it to be the xxx.MDL file in the aircraftmodel folder.And I am not able to load that particular aircraft.I checked the "Flight Simulator 2002 Readme" file but it talks about 3rd party xxx.DLL files and suggests a way to get around the problem. Dont remember seeing one in the Sim world....even old ones...have to take a look. Great looking and flying aircraft, it was North American Aviations post-war "everyman's" P-51. I have recently begun to move a little beyond the default aircraft. I know how to open and work within a cfg file, etc, and how to download and move aircraft, scenery, etc What do I need to do to install a downloaded repaint (texture) into fs2002?Thanks,JC Martin

This is a newbie question. I taking the P38 tutorial and once I finish it and get all the basics of Gmax down, i'm going to start my own project. But I'm having a problem, So far I've got a lot of it done, and I want to see how it looks in FS2002. Could someone tell me how to do this? I tried using MakeMDL but the import file has to be a *.x. I can't figure out how to make my a file a .x file. Does it have anything to do with exporting? Which brings me to another question, I can't export, the export options are grey and I can't click on them. But I can import. I read you can't export on the free downloaded version. G'Day!I would like, if possible, to be able to edit the f6f3_hellcat!Fuel_Selector gauge to read differently (i.e; Main, Left, Right, Aux, Off). Fellow Avsims, . . . I perceive very little difference in flight dynamics and texture appearances between the FS 2002 and FS 2000 aircraft downloads. In some limited cases, an update is given by the author to correct some issues with FS 2000 when used in FS 2002, . . . i.e, AFG with their 737-700's. What has been your experience? Have you seen any significant differences when using FS 2000 aircraft in FS 2002?Thanks.

I'm about to start producing some gauges for some pioneer/WW1 era aircraft that I'm embarking on having got at least some of the exterior done. Most of these gauges are pretty simple affairs, I'm reasonably familiar with Photoshop and I understand XML reasonably well so, no problem...I thought...This is the first gauge I'm aiming to get done just to make sure I understand the whole process. Hey guys.I just spent an hour trying to make a custom strobe light for my C206. I finally gave up. Could someone make or tell me how to make a strobe that flashes quickly 4 times in about .5 seconds. Greetings,I would like to ask where in the AIR file (FS2000)I could find the oil pressure scalar. With my chosen aircraft/panel combination (jet), it always registers low oil pressure (even at full throttle). I am familiar with using AirEd to tweak the air file. I just can't find which parameter to change to boost the oil pressure. If anyone could help me out with this, I would really appreciate it.Thanks!!!!Fred (KORD)
