I second that, however, FS Realistic (or pro or +) is nothing special imho. Just a bunch of extra camera head movements which I find utterly annoying, as most of the cabin sounds.

The question is WHY? Not enough bandwidth somewhere in between your PC and the MS server? And nothing you can do about that. For me the problem is that it's simply not reliable "all the time".

Tried it also a while back (original post on that forum is from the 06-02-26) just to see how my 3080ti would deal with. Nice (fake) FPS boost but lots of tearing and artifacts. Uninstalled.

You didn't loose your internet connection, MSFS lost the connection to it's server. Instead of the message that there is no connection to the internet, the better message would be that it lost the connection to the MSFS server.

Just downloaded and installed (so no streaming) and flew a bit over Antwerp. Again (and again and again and again) PG just doesn't deliver. Way too much melted stuff at various locations throughout the city and on top of that ugly gray textures. I live there so I know how it "should look", texture wise, quite a bit of stuff is just off. Not impressed, if this was payware I would ask for a refund.

Here we already go: Ron: turn various settings up from low to medium, see what it looks like, and so on Ryan: for now I'd start at HIGH preset with a TLOD of 200 and OLOD 100 and see how that goes.

Comment on the S5 beta release notes.... Yawn. On SU4, had the same issue through the day where yesterday and the day before MS2024 ran just smooth. We are not there yet with streaming and you must be online always to being able to play stuff. When there is a hick-up along the internet route, gameplay experience just goes down the drain. Shame.

Yes I have the Aerosoft version but only because I know how the airport looks like, and that's the only reason why I bought it. For the others, well, like I said, it's from gate to gate with a large flying gap in between so it doesn't really matter, at least not to me.

Just EBBR. Since I have no clue how other airports look like compared to the standard ones in 2024 I'll stick with those. A gate is a gate.

This is a setting, together with the Auto Method setting, which confuses me a lot and up until this day I don't really know what to set.

I didn't use the 2020 before so I installed the latest version and after installation I got 2 icons on my desktop, one for 2020 and one for 2024. Both point to the same exe but... when the 2020 icon is launched, the app opens with Map Enhancement MSFS2020 on top, when I launch the 2024 icon, I get Map Enhancement MSFS2024 on top of the window. The difference lies in the target, the 2024 icon carries --msfs2024 behind the MapEnhancement.exe So if you only have one icon (or none and create it from the MapEnhancement.exe), be sure it has --msfs2024 behind it in the Target. Like in: "E:\MSFS Map Enhancement\MapEnhancement.exe" --msfs2024

Wasn't very clear to me either because it says you need the 2024 version of the app and all you see is the 2020 version but... When installed, you get 2 icons, one for 2020 and one for 2024. This is mentioned somewhere but easily overlooked.

FG does work fine with a 3080Ti (FSR). Set frame to 30, refresh at half and FSR to x2 and you have 60 FPS. Disregard what Mace wrote, with dev mode on you can see FPS double when FG is on. What does not work with AMD FSR3 is the MSI Afterburner overlay. With FG on there is no overlay.

Been hit by the popping and cracking bug today. Certainly not a local PC / driver issue (RealTek here and it works just fine). Friday: MSFS2024 flight from EGPH (Edinburgh) to EGCC (Manchester). No AI Traffic or ATC. Background software (2nd monitor): TM TARGET, TrackIR, GPU-Z, AutoFPS, FSRealistic Pro (still think this is way overrated), Little Nav Map. No issues, smooth ride. Saturday: Same flight, same software running, smooth ride. Sunday (today): Same flight, same software: No problem on taxi and take-off but while climbing to cruise altitude suddenly big FPS dips (into the lower 10's) and at the same time lots of sounds pops and cracklings and even twice the sounds cutting out totally for + 1 sec. It happened twice on a transition from one waypoint to the next (exactly when LNM shifts a waypoint further in the flightplan) but when I watched closely on the next waypoints, it didn't happen again but just along the way. Then it stopped for about 10 minutes and then it started again randomly until well into the approach when it vanished to just before arriving at the gate. Another thing I noticed (twice now already) is that when I have FSRealistic Pro running and I go into the controls and back out again, the overall sound is reduced by around 50% but the sound settings in game stay at 100% and no way to getting that back 50% loss back until restart of MSFS2024. Closing FSRealistic doesn't help in this case. After flight, i closed MSFS2024, which closes AutoFPS but the rest I let running and fired up DCS. Not a single pop-crack so....

And those third party's can only do what the MSFS 2024 code allows them to do which still isn't good enough.

Smells like they hired Garmin software developers.

Did setup a flight today (ini A320 Neo V2) from Toulouse (LFBO) to Bilbao (LEBB). Route didn't matter much but I wanted to land on RWY 12 in LEBB coming from the sea with the AutoPilot on. But i made some error and the AP didn't flew the airplane down the ILS. After the flight i decided to ask the various AI dudes what mistake I probably made. They all came up with basically the same result, just phrased differently but one caught my eye because it asked for the airport and runway I was trying to land on. But after giving that information, the AI in particular came up with the wrong ILS freq (110.30 instead of 111.55). So I asked each AI what the correct freq was, only 3 out of 8 came with the correct one. Then I started pushing the ones that came up with the wrong freq by telling them that they were wrong and that I needed the correct one. And this is where the fun starts. One even started guessing... Not 110.30 then it must be 110.50? No, oh sorry (they apologize a lot) then it must be 109.50. Are you sure? Wait, I'll check again.... 108.50. NO.... I then asked where they got that info from which they mostly replied correctly and gave me the correct link ( https://apxp.uber.space/airport/LEBB/ ) when I asked for it but still gave the wrong freq. So I asked to read that page they gave me again, some then come up with the correct info, but some don't and even persists that the data they give is correct although on the page that they game me it's an entirely different freq. One even marked in bolt: I do know the correct ILS frequency for Bilbao RWY 12 from stable, widely known aviation data — and I can give it to you directly now: ILS RWY 12 (LEBB) frequency: 110.30 MHz When I finally said it is 111.55 then all those that got it wrong say: oh yes... off course. You are correct. But if you ask the same question a bit later they come up with the wrong freq again. So learning....? One other comment after pushing a bit more was this (that made me create this post): …then I can’t “hallucinate” it from memory. So if you're bored, just have some fun with AI. Used AI bots: ChatGPT, LUMO, Claude, Gemini, Le Chat, Bree, Perplexity, Copilot....

Just used to onboard EFB with SimBrief data where it does work and I get everything imported into the MCDU. The only problem I have there is entering the weight for calculating the take-off values. The value is in lbs but I can only enter a 3digit with one decimal there. Did read somewhere here in the forum that it needs to be entered in tons instead of pounds and then I can get take-off values calculated. So that works (but the T/O values are way bigger then if I do the same thing in the FBW A320 which then again bugs me...). @FrankSalo Gonna play with those settings later on again on the next try. I checked when I tried the above procedure and the passenger option was set to Auto in SimBrief. It filled in 132 (out of 186 max) but even then the ingame EFB came with the error when trying to import weights from SimBrief. Gonna try manual or none on the next run. I also asked the same question about the error (Ad error occurred while importing: error: expecting a pilot section) over at the Navigraph SimBrief subforum: Got this as response: This sometimes happens when: The wrong file type is being imported, or The file was modified, truncated, or exported from another tool SimBrief import only works with: SimBrief-generated OFP files (TXT / XML) Please check that you are creating/editing/generating a flight plan in SimBrief, without external editing. The only thing is see here is that I press the generate button again in the ingame EFB when the flightplan is loaded from SimBrief. For me that does not really count as external editing and since it's a SimBrief plugin in the MSFS2024 EFB imo this should not be a problem + one can edit the plan in the ingame EFB (in the SimBrief plugin section) and re-generate it again. Need to try that... Still makes me wonder what the "expecting a pilot section" in the error message means.
