  1. I know, right? For some of us old timers Meigs represents a deep seeded memory from way back in the early days with MSFS, and provides a sort of warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that it was back by default in FS2024...only to find that it's not even usable now... talk about anti-climatic, sheesh. Thanks for the suggestion (KCMI).
  2. heh, yea I was just about to do a comparison between that scenery mod and the default in 2024, to see how far into the air my aircraft bounces after landing and hitting the "ledge" of that misalignment 🙂
  3. Yea no, definitely not me... I don't use any 3rd party scenery, only have a couple of aircraft in my community folder. It's been well documented for a long time now actually, but I guess they don't consider it an iconic or important airport in the sim to fix. Too bad.
  4. Nevermind, posted too soon now that I found confirmation of it being a known bug over on the official forums.
  5. I did indeed reply a couple of time via email, with no further replies or instructions coming from you after I had explained I don't do the Discord thing. You never offered other options until just now. So fine, at least I've got your interest now (hats off to the Avsim folks). I can assure you this is not the case in my particular situation, as I have already indicated in the 3rd post within this thread. I did check for that already just in case it was so...but found no exe running at all in Task Manager for the app and therefore no hidden window either. That would have been too simple, I know 🙂 In my case the app is actually being terminated early, for some odd reason, before it's main window has a chance to initialize. I have already tried repairing all my C++ runtimes as well, just in case but that didn't help. I was also suspect of the antivirus but I have tried to add the app as an exception but this hasn't helped either...I use Esset Smart Security Premium and there are several places you can add exceptions. I's always possible I missed one but I have searched around pretty good and added the app as exception everywhere I could see possible to do so. I will continue to investigate further, but if you have any ideas, please let me know and I'll try.
  6. There is no installation process, other than copy/pasting a folder manually. Sounds like you'd make the perfect FSW employee!
  7. Not everyone is willing to use Discord, it's an unprofessional environment to begin with, a security risk for your personal information and also your pc and aside from all that I just do not appreciate when people use it as their only choice of support for customers who they're doing business with. I'm not comfortable with it. There are other ways to offer real time support, if that's what you're offering.
  8. Yep, it is 1.6 alright...dunno what to say or what to think, but at least I found a way to get it working for me. After creating a ticket with the developer all he said was that he knows someone else with the same issue and that I should report it as a bug over on Discord (but I don't do 3rd party support apps, period). That was the end of support, for me. I DID ask for a refund last nite, because at that point I hadn't found a way yet to make it run for me and, even though I asked, he didn't offer any solutions other than reporting it on Discord...but of course I never heard back after that request. I had just made the purchase the day before.
  9. I found a work around to getting it to finally run. As soon as the app's splash screen appears upon loading, I immediately start a 2nd instance of it (so now I have 2 instances of the app trying to load simultaneously). Doing this somehow allows one of the instances to successfully load, while the other instance crashes out. So I'm left with a single running instance of the app. Never seen this behavior in any app before. No help by the developer, btw, who seemed to not even know what his own distributed notes say about running the app, very weird (maybe he's using AI responses? who knows).
  10. I'm guessing this means that it won't be able to hold a sideslip in a direct 20kt crosswind from 90 degrees on approach?
  11. thanks but no, that wasn't it 😞
  12. So, with Learjet35 loaded on tarmac in msfs2024... the fsw binding app starts to load up and just quits at some point while loading, before it ever gets beyond the splash screen. Is this a known issue?
  13. Be careful before you purchase...email the developer with any questions first because that chaseplane app has some important limitations everyone needs to be aware of before installing it. If you use the sim in any way that interferes with this apps limitations you will run into problems that may not be resolved without actually uninstalling the chaseplane app. I have held off for this reason and was actually instructed to do so by the developer. Here are some things the app has issue with: VR Career mode Night vision goggles Default replay system Xbox controllers ... and more, have a good read about this here: ChasePlane - Known Limitations
  14. I still only have 16bg of system dram on a 7 year old pc with a 3080 gtx gpu... and I get no memory warnings from msfs 2024 at all. But then again I don't use any scenery addons, only aircraft addons. It runs fine and with that new frame generation mod I am getting 100+ fps and all is nice and smooth on approach in NY area.
  15. Yes, thanks.. i did have curve (albeit a small one) set, but removing it only made a small difference. The aircraft is just overly stable, to a fault IMO...I mean it's a small aircraft and should move around more in air than it does...I had a 15 kt crosswind from about 40 degrees off of centerline of runway and never even had it try to windmill into the crosswind at all, no crab or kicking rudder out at touchdown needed. Heh, I certainly wouldn't say it has a "sports car" feel 🙂
  16. I am surprised to see that the Hondajet is so heavy in feel when you fly it in the sim. It has very little movement in air, for me, to the point where it feels almost too stable for such a light aircraft. When you roll and pitch she feels more like a 747 than a tiny, nimble jet. So I looked it up and found that AI says this about the real one (AI seems to be wrong more than it's correct these days so I dunno what to make of it): AI SAYS: No, the HondaJet is widely described as light, nimble, and "sports car-like" in its handling, rather than feeling heavy during flight. Instagram +1 Key details regarding the flight feel of the HondaJet include: Agile Handling: Pilots often describe the aircraft as nimble and fun to fly. It is known for having exceptional handling, partly due to its advanced avionics and design, making it a "sports car of the skies". "Heavy" Misconception: While one simulator user mentioned it felt more like a larger, heavier aircraft during a specific update, real-world pilot reports emphasize its light, responsive nature. Performance Characteristics: It features a high climb rate of around 4,000 feet per minute, allowing for quick ascents, and is designed for high-altitude, efficient cruising. Design Efficiencies: The use of a carbon composite fuselage makes the airframe lighter than traditional aluminum jets, contributing to a better power-to-weight ratio. Stable and Quiet: The over-the-wing engine mount design reduces cabin noise and contributes to a smooth, stable, and comfortable flight experience. YouTube +9 The HondaJet is designed to be a highly responsive and efficient light business jet, with its handling often praised by those who fly it END AI
  17. For me what fixed it, was to make sure to set the Meta app as the default XR runtime. I must have changed it years ago not remembering as it must have been needed for something I was testing at the time and then forgot all about it. Once I changed Meta back to the default XR runtime then using CTRL+TAB put me straight into the vr environment. Before it worked, I was getting an error box popping up every time I hit ctrl+tab that said there was no vr headset recognized, or something to that effect.
  18. Guys - is there a big difference in the vc cockpit textures of the new -700 as compared to the old -600?
  19. If they fix the twitchy flight modeling (commented on earlier in this thread) and how one user says the FD doesn't offer any guidance unless the AP is on then I'd probably get it...but the problem is that you have to follow these things daily/weekly for long periods of time to understand what's been fixed (or not) and I just have a difficult time doing that these days so I'll likely just pass on this, sadly.
  20. oh, ok I understand... too bad they don't allow you to purchase just the single model of choice that you'd want (like just the BBJ or just the cargo variant, etc). Thanks for the info.
  21. So can someone explain to me why the -700 is more than double the price of the -600? I guess I'm asking if there's really something more I'm receiving to explain the extra cost, or is it mostly based on popularity of the variant? I haven't purchased a PMDG aircraft in maybe 10 years or more... am considering it again now.
  22. The runway lights stick out like sore thumb at night in fs2024. You can make out airports too easily from a relatively low altitude and much farther away than IRL.
  23. I don't agree with the video. You don't HAVE to have all the extras, which is what the majority of all the higher expense is about. You can still take a beginner (as we all were once), buy the sim for $70 and a joystick w/throttle and rudder on it for around $80 and have plenty of hours of fun learning about how to fly, navigate and all about aviation weather. It gets alot more expensive only if/when you get more advanced into the hobby and start buying addon planes left & right, more expensive hardware, software addons, etc. But that's always been the case...it's always been affordable, for those who want to make it that way, or an over-the-top expensive gaming hobby. It's what you want to make of it, the way it's always been...you don't actually need all that stuff you're buying. You buy it because you're likely bored and hope it'll make things fresh by improving the experience for you. Remember what fun we all had that first year playing with a sim?...and the next one after that?...we weren't spending much...and still don't have to in order to get an even better experience today, generally speaking. But from what I see...the only real difference today is that we have alot more hardware and software choices available to spend our money on than ever before, both lower end and higher end, which is a really good thing...and the higher end stuff has become a bit more affordable these days as compared to 20 years ago I think. So because there's so much more available, it has become alot easier to get sucked into spending alot more than you actually need to.
  24. So as of today, which is the best replay software to use that's compatible with Chaseplane in MSFS 2024?
  25. So, the 5080's are also prone to melting? How about the 5070's, or should I just with AMD for my new build this year?
