  1. Aviator of Course, are there any other editions,
  2. Having started my flight sim experience with Fly II, then MSFS every edition after, along with the long wait from X to 2020. I grabbed the Aviator edition, and think they will fix things, NOT Getting a refund. I will keep 2020 installed, and ride this all the way. I'm grateful that we have this at all, and I spent today deselecting as many things as I can to make it realistic for me. We get a ton of stuff in here, sight see, and practice. No where but up from here. Sonar5
  3. Hi, I got MSFS 2024, I have trackir5 pro and have tried 5.4.2 as well as newer versions. My problem is it won't update games file update so msfs2024 as a choice is missing from games list. Works great in msfs2020. I keep getting access denied to server popup box when I choose game update. Anyone have a clue if there is another way? Tried yesterday as well as today, multiple uninstalls, repair, remove registry keys. Thanks.
  4. I'm thinking of picking up the Carenado. I own the A2A 172, I see they just released trhe 182 again with the most basic of GPS's that you never see in real life flying. I'm not worried about the FPS hit, if any, as I have a decent enough rig. Maybe if Flight1 gest it for the P3D, we'll see...
  5. Hey there, somebody shoot me the private forum info will ya?Thanks,Joe

My Company has a big rollout next weekend, but I will try to get back to some flying, a little updating, etc...Hello to the team, and if I don't get a chance to fly, work hard, fly well, and know I am always there in spirit. 9. Ahhh, one of my favorite FS9 planes to fly.FSD-International has a commercial FS9 version available. Now that I am in FSX, there was just released a Freeware version here at avsim. I haven't had time to try it yet, but here you go.Freeware Avantihttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxac&DLID=98239Once FSD Updates theirs for FSX, I'll be there grabbing it. They did an awesome job on the one for FS9, and I look forward to the new one. That is one beautiful plane, IMHO.Regards,Joe
  10. Wow,What a great job Team AVSIM. Congratulations on bringing the Baton home first.I started a Congratulations thread here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=4770&page=Again, well done!
  11. Great Job Team AVSIM!Whatever the outcome, you guys exhibited outstanding planning, organization, strategy, airmanship, and awesome TEAM Camaraderie.Looking at the Map shows our route as a work of art, and you were the first team to bring the Baton Home. Great Job!Congratulations on finishing, and I look forward to the official results later on, once the other teams come home, and the Judges tally the time..To Team Sim-Outhouse and Team Flightsim, a hearty congratulations as well, as you fly the Baton towards its final destination. Keep up the good work, and good luck.To the Judges and race planners, excellent job designing the Race, bonuses and putting the time in to pull off another grand example of why we all love this hobby. 12. Thank you, but been there done, that. I could give a course on this stuff.Upnp off and on in Windows, Admin on the Router, DMOZ enabled, disabled. You name it, I've done it.
  13. Hi all,For the second year in a row, I cannot go on multiplayer.Either the FS Host is not properly configured by opening the required ports, due to a router, firewall, or other unknown reason, or someone who is on there is preventing me due to their settings running either a Router, or Zone ALarm. And if you are on a Router, maybe turn off Windows Firewall.I can connect to Flightsim's MP server and numerous others but not our own.Since last year, I even have a different router. If you are on Multiplayer, and you are running through a Router, Zone Alarm or a Firewall, you are probably the cause of me not being able to connect.if you have a router, you need to go into your Router Admin and forward the following ports.See here:http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/help.html#portsANd here:http://www.portforward.com/And Here:http://www.portforward.com/english/applica...r_2004index.htmPorts to forward"23456 UDP6073 BothQ: Why can I only see the host and no one but the host sees me during a multiplayer game?A: What you're seeing (or not seeing!) is usually a result of router ports and/or firewall ports being blocked off. To rectify the problem you must open the following ports: * INCOMING UDP 2300-2400, 6073 * OUTGOING UDP 2300-2400, 6073 * INCOMING TCP 2300-2400, 47624 * OUTGOING TCP 2300-2400, 47624 If you're running a router you must forward those ports to your specific machine IP address. Each router has specific way of doing this, so please refer to your router's documentation. If you run ZoneAlarm (ZA) firewall with or without the router you also have to configure it to allow the specific ports to pass data. To do this, simply open ZA, click security/internet/customize, fill in the port ranges and check the box to save/enable your new settings. TIP: If after opening the ports you still have problems seeing others or being seen, try switching to the stock Learjet. It reinitializes the multiplayer connection without exiting the game and entering it again. Also, try turning off Zone Alarm, or at least open up the ports. If you have a Router, or Zone Alarm, and you don't know what I'm talking about, you are probably the cause of me not getting in.If you don't have a Router, or ZA, hat is why it is so easy for you to connect. Thanks,Joe

  15. Hi all,Sorry I haven't been around much. I have a huge project for work, and it's taking a ton of time from me right now.I hope to be able to make a few flights, but I have to upgrade my psu, and I'm on FSX, so I also have to find a new plane to master and quick. My Avanti steed has not been updated for FSX yet. (I uninstalled FS9, dumb move but it is what it is, it's the optimist in me.)**Any suggestions, I'm open to them. new PSU should be here by Friday.I will be limited in flying to Pacific time, evenings and the weekends. I will be able to monitor threads while at work though. :-)I'll try to get up to speed in the next few days, and feel free to email me or msg me here if you need anything.**Tom and Avsim have been gracious enough to allow me to be a moderator in the forum again, so whatever you need from me, I'm also here for that as well. For you newbies to the team, welcome aboard, we're all here to help and are glad you chose to become a part of something special you're sure to cherish and remember. We've all made some good friends across multiple sites and teams, and this year is bound to be more of the same.We are the Target folks, they're all gunning for us, so strap on the Avsim Team Spirit, be prepared to work hard, and have tons of fun along the way.Let's keep that AVSIM trophy in Virgina, shall we!Best,JoeSonar5
  16. Hi Arnold,1) With all the driver changes, there is a pretty good chance you're leaving remnants on your system. I would use this program to clean out all the drivers, registry settings, etc.. before installing latest ATI catalyst drivers off ATI's website.Driver Cleaner (follow instructions carefully)http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=7452) While you list your PSU, you don't list the amp's on the rails. If a lot of amps and watts go to the 5 v and not the 12v, you may not be getting enough power to the card on the 12v rail. (That card is a PSU and 12v Rail Hog.....) I know, I have the x1650xt 512mb ram AGP card. You may need as high as 30 on the 12v rail. Check the card specs to see what is required. Or post exactly what psu you have.Regards,Joe
  17. >Sven, I agree. I just didn't have time to do that when I>reopened the forum the other day. I will move it later today>or tomorrow to the same category as the Hangar Chat area.Hi Tom,Can I recommend that it not be put to the same category as Hangar Chat.Since it is specific to MSFS, would it be possible to have it located in the Microsoft Flight Simulators Category, but Placed Right Below the FSX Forum, but above the FSX Sim Connect Forum, or in between the FS9 or FSX Forum.I am worried if it is placed near hangar we may not get the visibility that will be needed for us to succeed. My Preference.1) 1st forum above FS9 Forum2) In between FS9 and FSX Forum3) Right below FSX ForumThanks,Joe
  18. Sonar5 Checking in, and wishing everyone a Happy New Year.Go TEAM AVSIM!

I got the same thing at my office, as well as my home computers...My Folder name is different, and file name is slightly different, mine ends in 927978...1st time I've seen them place a folder there, my guess is it was supposed to be deleted after install was completed and got left there...Or it's a big conspiracy to log everything we do and report back to the gubermint..... errr.... Microsoft... ;-)Que space 2001 theme.. Mine is explained here:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
  21. >We know there will be a patch to upgrade FSX to a DX 10>version. Many people have problems with their performance.>Microsoft has to do something: Release a Patch! >>So will there be coming a patch to solve the problems of the>Performance?>>Microsoft has to know about the problems, or not?And more importantly, will they like some developers already charge for these patches.According to the eula, its says this:WILL MICROSOFT be charging for a DX10 Update as alleged new functionality is added by way of a feature update.....The License says this:"3. ADDITIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND/OR USE RIGHTS.a. Additional Functionality. Microsoft may provide additional functionality for the software. Other license terms and fees may apply"Note the words FEES Folks.... Just like SOME add-on developers are charging for alleged feature updates, MSFT has now given themselves the out to charge you down the road. Doesn't mean they will, but it's there, isn't it ....Oh and guess what, it wouldn't surprise me any to see some of these same developers then charging yet again once DX10 arrives....For more than a few, it's all about the money folks.... And don't think it isn't...
  22. You may have to pay for DX10 added functionality though, according to the eula....Go read it... It's all there in black and white....Oh and they can shut down Multiplayer anytime they want....Yep, just like SOME add-on developers are sheepishly charging for updates to planes, MSFT may do the same...Yippee, boy are we gullible...Oh yeah, and guess what folks, when Vista and DX10 cards come out, you can bet SOME developers will invent another excuse and charge for updates yet again....Heck now MSFT even gives them the language to put in their license schemes....It's all about the dollars folks..... How long until FS will be subscription time limited software, say a year for $70.....And don't think it's not coming either... It's the model all the greedy people salivate over, recurring revenues vs customer satisfacion...It's all too clear which companies fall into which category here....
  23. Forget that article, read your eula...And I outlined some info in it here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=364622&page=
  24. >Hi there,>>I have a rather simple question. I will be over at my in-laws>for the next couple of days and will purchase FSX there. Is>there a problem if I'd install it on my in-laws PC, delete it>when I leave next week and then re-install on my PC?>>I know this sounds weird but I won't have anything else to do>at my in-laws and my wife 'allowed' me to take my Yoke/Pedals>with me :-)>....must be flightsim addicted ;-)>>Cheers,>Pete>>http://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gif>AMD64-3400,1GB/3200DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.84.21),>CH Yoke/PedalsPete,Read your eula, it does not mention PC, or Computer per say, it does mention device, of course, device is defined ONLY as the device you use the software on... (You is you, I think) :-)So follow the eula, and if they give you grief, recite the eula, and take a look at how it reads. You can't share it between device, but hey that may mean both copies running at once on two device, you can't be in two places at one time, can you?So you have to decide that one on your own. Me, I'm not in your situation, but it doesn't say you have to uninstall, only you may uninstall...Talk about ambiguous.... Courts don't like vague contracts they tend to throw them out quite a bit, IMHO...
  25. Wow, we should all read the eula...That article is misleading, IMHOHere is the link to the Article:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927007Which, IMHO contains items contrary to the eula on our hard drive....With regards to the activation scheme of FSX, I have a real problem with that article and what reads in the eula on my hard Drive...The Article states:Q4: How many times can I activate the product?A4: You can activate games for Windows two times. Removing and then reinstalling the game will not affect the game activation quota as long as you have not changed any hardware components on the computer.Q6: Can I install the game on more than one computer?A6: Microsoft Product Activation verifies that a software program's product key has not been used on more personal computers than the software's license allows. The product key can be used only on one computer. To run a game on two or more computers, purchase additional copies.FALSE...FALSE...FALSE... No where does it say anywhere in the eula ONE COMPUTER.... Are they for real???? This is in direct contradiction of the eula on my hard drive. No where in the eula in my directory of FSX does it say I can only activate two times, or on one computer. It specifically uses device, not computer...The eula Deluxe Version states the following:a. Licensed Device. The licensed device is the device on which you use the software. You may install and use one copy of the software on the licensed device. IT DOES NOT SAY COMPUTER... Guess what, I designate the device which by definition becomes the device when I use the software on it.. Get it... "8. TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices......What..... Doesn't say one, as the eula says I MAY, (Don't have to, IMHO) uninstall and then install on another device.... Pretty vague, I don't think that one would hold up, IMHO.... As far as sharing between devices, it says I can transfer it, and then it says the device by definition is the device you use it on... HUH?????1) b. License Model. The software is licensed on a per copy per device basis.......Yep, got that, per device, and of course Number 8.2) a. Licensed Device. The licensed device is the device on which you use the software. You may install and use one copy of the software on the licensed device......5) SCOPE OF LICENSE. The software is licensed, not sold. This agreement only gives you some rights to use the software.......8. TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices.********************It DOES NOT Say I can only activate twice, nor does it limit the number of devices I desire to install it on..... It says install on another device for your use...It also states:11. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This agreement (including the warranty below), and the terms for supplements, updates, Internet-based services and support services that you use, are the entire agreement for the software and support services. So is there now a LEGAL supplement to our License within one week of release, that states only two activations and is MSFT pulling new terms as they move along. And I have a couple other beefs with this license and activation scheme.....WILL MICROSOFT be charging for a DX10 Update as alleged new functionality is added by way of a feature update.....The License says this:"3. Doesn't mean they will, but it's there, isn't it ....Oh and one more for you.....4) "You acknowledge and agree that Multiplayer Play may not be consistently available or operate error free, and that Multiplayer Play may be discontinued by Microsoft or its agents at any time without notice to you."That's right they could decide that multiplayer is so screwed up, they MAY just turn it off without any notice to you. Maybe someone keeps hitting the switch which is why folks apparently keep getting booted from the gamespy network....Folks your responsibility is to the eula, and that article is blatantly contradictory to the eula, in my opinion....I think I can make as many hardware changes as I desire, uninstall it, reinstall whatever, and no where does it state in the eula that I am limited to two activations....The way I read it, someone is attemtping to reap Vista Type license schemes on FSX.....So, why is MSFT putting these NEW items in an article when it does not match up legally IMHO, with the eula.... Why the contradiction?????Why the alleged two limit activation, and why is it not in the eula if it allgedly applies so badly they put in in an additional article....I appreciate the FSX folks coming in, and this is no dig at you good folks who develop this. This has to do with the policy folks and this license scheme..I am enjoying borrowing the software thus far, but that article is simply not factual in nature nor does it read as the eula does, IMHO.Comments....Thanks,Joe
