MSFS acquiring a lot of "good" airliners quickly!

Never understood why FSL made that design choice. Why not give simmers the option. Half the fun-factor of the concorde is making sense of the FE panel, particularly balancing fuel.

It runs sound files at various stages of the procedures from the walk around to starting engines, pushback etc. it is very immersive. It wouldn’t be easy to switch that off. There are benefits such as your virtual crew adding waypoints into the INS systems. Various actions start these scripts. Such as turning landing lights on starts the before takeoff checks.

I agree about mastering the FE panel. I finally learned it a few years ago after leaving it to the VFE. It is very satisfying. They’ve never entered into a discussion about why they decided on that.

The biggest gap I see is the A330. There's Headwind, LatinVFR, and Aerosoft, but none of those are at the level that I'd like to see.

Fokker 70 and 100 coming soon also.  I'd like to see somebody do the 717.  Haven't heard TFDi show interest in redoing theirs.

No study-level Concorde either. FS Labs are so tight-lipped about what they’re working on many people have no idea if one for MSFS is even coming. A recent post on their forum asking about some n

I don't think the Inibuilds A330 is that bad. It mainly lack an autosave function like they have in the A340 & A350 and also a reliable fuel usage when you use time accelération.

It wouldn't be a huge update to add those features but sadly it's up to Asobo/Microsoft to ask for it.

Honestly if IniBuilds turned their attention to Concorde I'd be all over it. We know by now that visuals and sounds wise they are extremely good at what they do.

It takes a great deal of expertise and knowledge to make an accurate Concorde. I’m sure they’re very clever but do they have access to those who flew her. Given the time that has passed since Concorde was retired - 2003 - that’s debatable.

There is a JustFlight Concorde which is reasonably priced but lacking system depths. As for any FSL one for MSFS well, watch their forum.

I really like what they've done with the Tristar. Obviously not directly comparable (nothing is), but the way they've implemented traditional navigation methods (INS) and the Flight Engineer functions but made them accessible to the average simmer via the Paper Flight Bag, without diluting the experience for those that want to turn all the help off and fly it completely manually, I think is really well done.

IniBuilds have really stepped up in my book. This and the A340-300 I think are superb, and the A350 now it's seen several updates is also very solid.

Definitely agree. They may not be Fenix or PMDG study level, but they create near study level, engaging planes that are very immersive.

This all does sound very lovely to make the learning experience much more seamless but at some point I would've like to take a hand at managing that all myself. Alas

Post your thoughts here. Don’t be surprised if no one from FSL replies to you.

That JustFlight Fokker 70/100 package seems to be taking forever. That is probably the only upcoming aircraft package that I am interested in right now (with the possible exception of the Vector 787), so I am keen to finally see it on store shelves!

The 340 EIS1 cockpit at night as absolutely stunning.

I haven’t flown the 1011 at night yet, but I imagine it’ll be really good too.

I noticed that MSFS is acquiring a lot of "good" airliners quickly.  By "good," I mean at least medium fidelity and above, so at least the fidelity of some iniBuilds airliners.  Obviously, the iniBuilds Tristar was just released.  But also recently, the Aerosoft-Toliss A340 was released too.  If there are no more delays this year, the Bluebird 757 and the Vector 787 could also be added to this list (although we have to wait and see the fidelity of these two airliners when it's finally released).

Assuming the Bluebird 757 and Vector 787 are released this year, I think for modern airliners that are Boeing + Airbus, there aren't that many left for MSFS that haven't been done?  Off the top of my head, for modern airliners that are Boeing + Airbus, that would leave the 747 (PMDG working on it), A220 (Synaptic Simulations + iniBuilds working on it), and 767 (Bluebird Simulations working on it) left.  If I am missing a major modern airliner that is Boeing + Airbus, feel free to post what else is missing.

But if it's only the 747, A220, and 767 left for Boeing + Airbus, that's not too bad then, we will have a "good" airliner for everything else, by the end of 2026.

I also suspect that once all the modern airliners for Boeing + Airbus are covered in MSFS, developers will probably start to work on version 2.0 of their current airliners, which would be the high fidelity versions of their airliners, so they can sell those as an upgrade, or sell the version 2.0 as a new product.  I can totally see iniBuilds working on version 2.0 of many of their airliners, which would then bring them to high fidelity, and then sell the version 2.0 for another new round of sales.  And I would guess Fenix is working on another high fidelity airliner, but they haven't disclosed this to the public yet. This would follow the pattern of 3rd party scenery developers - a lot of 3rd party scenery developers are working on version 2.0 of the various major airports, because version 1.0 of a lot of major airports have already been released.

IIRC, iB is also doing an A380…?

I'm not too sure about the 3PDs going on to “V2 Pro” rebuilds, with the possible exceptions of fully native v2024 upgrades, à la PMDG 737.

This clearly creates pressure to expand to other eras and genres of aircraft. E.g., more Classics like JF’s A300, and the pleasantly surprising popularity of Biz Jets.

We're also missing Hi Fi versions of quite a few light GA aircraft like the C172 or Piper Cherokee (à la A2A).

eta: a critical gap remains the lovely Majestic Q400!

And there is a possibility that Aerosoft-Toliss may do the A330 next for MSFS, because Toliss already has a good A330 for XP.

I’d wager at least a six pack of good beer that project is already under way. 🤙

I'm not really a long hauler but their 340 is one of my favourite planes in FS2024. The texturing is excellent both inside and out, it's really nice and weighty to hand-fly, the systems modelling I think is enough that you wouldn't really notice anything missing unless you're going really off-piste or trying to replicate failure scenarios. And it has arguably the best designed EFB of any of the airliners available.

All over the inibuilds A380. That and the PMDG 747 would be great stable mates.

It's 2026 and folks are still clinging to the old glory of FSL...the P3D release flopped with no FE panel and being stuck on V5 build only.

They are simply out of touch with the consumer's demand timeline, arrogant and uncommunicative for ZERO reason at this point.

You all were very passive aggressive dismissive of DC Design's MSFS product for not being "study level" enough even though the developer gave the best effort and was very open and communicative. Yet folks have this obsessed Stockholm syndrome like relationship with FSL.

OMG why don't FSL talk to us??? These past 6 years FSL were simply left in the dirt by other 3rd party addon companies with MSFS.

Maybe it's just time to move on?💡

So many contradictions in just one sentence.
