What I do is set the Airplanes Controls and Specific Controls to profiles named NONE which are profiles with all assignments removed. And then I use a General Controls profile for each controller to do all the assignments.

If I want a profile for only one plane. like an  A320, then I save a profile in the General Controls named for instance A320 AlphaYoke. I also have another named with my initials which is my "normal" profile to use on most planes. I can make a profile called AirlinerTMPedals or one called helicopterTMThrottle and so forth (for each controller). All with different names.

If this sounds a lot like 2020, it is exactly like 2020 only with a different GUI layout. And has the advantage that I can click on the cog icon and save the profiles anywhere I want. Like on a USB stick and also on my hardrive. So each one is backed up twice.

I do it this way, because it is simple, like in 2020.

Thanks, you make it sound easy but for me it’s not. Those three that I circled. I’m trying to find a tutorial on how to use them.

I use the top one (General). the other two I make profiles that have zero mappings on them. That way it is like 2020. The 2024 game will then ignore all profiles except those in General. All 2020 profiles were General profiles.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

If you ever get the time could you give a step by step or make a video? If you feel like it. I do appreciate your help though.

The only problem I see having is reverse thrust on the jets because I use a TQ6 and it doesn’t have switch detects for it. In 2020 I had to use some fancy curves which took a lot of trial and error.I hope I can use the same curve numbers.

Hi Jack:

Unlike your RW experience, I have none…🙂…so, the tooltips and such actually help my eyes identify cockpit instruments for easier adjustments.

Anyway, in MSFS2024, the user interface for such things is “Flight Interface” via (Settings -> General). You can adjust Cockpit Interaction System (turn off the blue highlight) and also disable Instrument Name Tooltips there.

Please look for on-line videos.

Cheers…!

Thanks! This worked perfectly.

You’re getting there, Jack.

MSFS2024 sure has some idiosyncrasies of its own, but you’ll get used to it…🙂

Have fun…!

Thank you my friend. On some airports I get warnings that I have to lower my settings because of my GPU but I'm not sure what settings to lower.

The settings which have the greatest effect on performance, in my experience are:-

TERRAIN LEVEL OF DETAIL  (With a weaker PC, never more than 100).

OBJECTS LEVEL OF DETAIL  (With a weaker PC, never more than 100).

TEXTURE QUALITY (with a weaker PC don't ever go higher than High.  Using Medium might even give a smoother experience, with a weaker PC.

One question. I went through and literally typed out all the options, all of them, I do this in every sim going back to FSX. I remove all assignments and make my own.

But one thing I can't seem to find and it bugs me is when I move the cursor over a knob or something in the cockpit it turns blue. Is there a way to turn off that blue? I flew real planes and worked them all my life and I've never seen a knob light up blue 🙂

Go into the assistance settings and set interaction method to Legacy.
