August 16, 2025Aug 16 Sorry everyone, this does not interest me. I'm here to tell you this doesn't interest me. To reiterate, this does not interest me. Ok, now that I've completed my parody of people I don't understand, I actually think this will be a blast if the missions they're including are fun. I'm looking forward to it!
August 16, 2025Aug 16 Wow they are keeping it pretty lore accurate as well I see, with incompetent Jurassic Park employees all the way up to pilot pay grade.🤣 I mean if JP hired these incompetent employees, can't expect flight crew not to cause mass casualty workplace mishap disasters as well 😂 Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10 MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled) 8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled) 32GB DDR4 3000 Ram 500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

It reminds me of the Dune add-on (by Asobo), which wasn’t very popular, and many people looked for ways to completely remove it. Fictional content has never been very popular in the Flight Simulator world. Why am I talking about popularity? Because it determines how the add-on will be improved after release. The add-on can end up even with 50 missions at launch and then nothing added afterwards. The price is also very important — it needs to feel worth spending on.
August 16, 2025Aug 16 I would LOVE to see the MSFS world continue to come alive and while this is what it is it points to what can be done at some level. I would love to see a world with trains, cattle and goats, rows of crops, birds w/ bird strikes doing what they can do, etc. Probably beyond my years but it is headed that way, a much more complete and alive Digital Twin Earth. Pretty cool Orbx took this project on. To me it's a purchase for a specific pack of scenery and missions; I'd be floored if they added anything after release even if it is really popular. And that doesn't bother me, personally.

August 16, 2025Aug 16 @HiFlyer Not at all — there wasn’t much discussion about it on the forums or on YouTube. @Tuskin38 And why was it such a big deal to remove it from the loading screen? For some reason, the Landscape of Rio (which MSFS still has) doesn’t seem to bother anyone… All I’m saying is that there’s already plenty of real scenery to focus on, rather than spending time on something fictional. @Dermot McClusky I guess I’m one of the people you made a parody of 🙂

Pretty cool Orbx took this project on. Same here! The AI generated buildings for cities is a vast improvement over 2020, better capturing regional differences. But one area 2020 did better was with certain rural buildings. Areas that used to have grain silos have been replaced with square buildings for example. And flying in VR with Displacement Mapping enabled provides some very nice eye candy. The last Beta Build seems to have improved it even more. Also, we do have some devs making great scenery add-ons such as: Samscene3D, Orbx, DD Flyer, Project Houses, Mamu Design, Bijan and CLI4D to name a few. Their sceneries add some great immersion when flying helicopters, GA and bush planes. If you mainly fly tubes, I understand how these might not be of much value to you. Let’s hope we start seeing more new stuff taking advantage of what 2024 has to offer now that devs are becoming proficient with it and the SDK. Clifford’s upcoming Yosemite scenery looks amazing and will transform flying there.

I actually saw tons of discussions, and the many videos are still out there and available. To be sure, some reacted negatively, but I suspect the majority were simply curious and/or intrigued at the newest toy. Certainly, as somebody who also appreciates a good space sim, the opportunity to fly such a unique aircraft with Msfs level graphics, and for free, was a no-brainer for me personally, and I found the missions fun and interesting. I also remember seeing people asking if the orthinopter could be ported into MSFS 2024 Plus, 869K views, hundreds of enthusiastic comments and enough interest from IGN that they created the video below hardly supports a dismissal of the addon without at least some solid support to back it up. I actually thought of it as a super-cool copter! We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
