July 23, 2025Jul 23 In FS 2024, there are various alternatives, depending on the origin of the aircraft install... .) if the aircraft was installed by a dedicated installer, then you should use the corresponding "uninstaller" for the job; .) if the aircraft was simply pasted into the Community folder, then simply delete it from there; .) if it's a streamed aircraft, possibly even from FS 2020 and available for FS 2024, then you can follow the methods bellow to disable it from the aircraft selection Menu: ("Copilot" is your friend...) In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, many aircraft are streamed rather than locally installed, which means you can't simply uninstall them. But you can hide or disable them from the aircraft selection screen by editing a configuration file. Here's how: ✂️ Disable Aircraft via Content.xml You can manually disable aircraft by modifying the Content.xml file: Navigate to the file Go to: %localAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache Paste that path into your File Explorer address bar. Open Content.xml Use a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++. Find the aircraft entries Look for lines like: <Package name="fs24-asobo-aircraft-pitts" active="Activated"/> Change Activated to UserDisabled Example: <Package name="fs24-asobo-aircraft-pitts" active="UserDisabled"/> Save the file Restart the sim and those aircraft should no longer appear in the selection screen. ⚠️ Notes Default aircraft marked as SystemDisabled shouldn't be edited unless you know what you're doing. After updates, you may need to reapply these changes. This method doesn’t delete aircraft—it just hides them from view and prevents them from loading. July 23, 2025Jul 23 jcomm has kindly given you the instructions - disable via the content.xml. That is what I have done and my hangar is now only full of payware. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
July 23, 2025Jul 23 It is extremely satisfying to do and much easier than it was with 2020 because you can literally stop all the default aircraft from appearing. Every now and then I activate something if I fancy flying it for an hour - the Optica for example, and then I can stop it from streaming again after I remember why I like it but don't want to keep it. I'm a bit fanatical about having a clean and tidy hangar 🙂 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I don't remember having to do it again after SU2. If I did though it would have taken 10 minutes. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

July 23, 2025Jul 23 You can also hide/unhide (activate/de-activate) aircraft via the "my Library" option in sim, which means you can do this without a sim restart. And if you're an addons linker user, that contains a content.xml editor option under the "Tools" menu. July 23, 2025Jul 23 I remember in a previous version of MS Flightsim (I can't remember which version though), it was possible to make a Favorite list with the aircrafts I used, and not seeing all the other ones, I never flew anyway. I wish MS would make that an option again. Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. March 17Mar 17 Resurrecting an old thread. I cannot get this to work, and I would love to hide so many airplanes I am never going to fly. I have done the changes to the content.xml file but every plane still shows up. Any ideas? Steam version. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
