December 23, 20241 yr Q8 pilot test rode through the upcoming GTNXi 750 for X-Plane 12 using new released CitationJet 525. It is looking great. However, I am a bit confused. I have Reality XP GTN 750/650 touch. What is the value prop and differentiator between these two products? Looks like XP Aircraft that supports GTN will be supporting both. The TDS nav database is updateable with Navigraph navdata. The RXP units depend on Garmin updating the database included with their trainer, which only happens every 1-2 years, and is out of date by as much as six months the day it comes out. You can update the RXP Garmins with real-world Jepp data if you subscribe to the very expensive r/w data, but that's not a practical option for most users. An updateable nav database is huge, especially if you fly using a manned online ATC service like VATSIM or PilotEdge. More importantly, TDS actively supports their product. RealityXP has abandoned their support forum here...Jean Luc Dupiot, the Reality XP guy, hasn't logged into his support forum to answer user questions since April 2023. I finally removed the RXP support forums from the commercial support area and redesignated them a user-to-user support group. Many users have reported their e-mail support requests going unanswered. From my perspective, RealityXP is (barely) on terminal life support, though it's still actively (and shamelessly) sold to the unsuspecting to this day. Caveat Emptor -- let the buyer beware. January 4, 20251 yr I like the fact that this dev is going the extra mile to support multiple sims. They've earned my money for XP as a result.

February 21, 20251 yr The log awaited X-Plane version of the TDS GTNxi is now available for purchase from the TDS website https://tdssim.com/tdsgtnxixpl -- Edit So far the TDS has "just worked" in the legacy RXP compatible aircraft I've tried - the bezel is wrong but that's pretty irrelevant to me. I'm expecting there to be a few outliers where the default integration isn't so smooth but so far this is working as well as I'd hoped it would Edited February 21, 20251 yr by Matchstick
February 21, 20251 yr Just as a heads up - I've found my first seemingly incompatible plane - The X-Aviation/Leading Edge Sim Beech C23 Sundowner v2 seems to be CTDing X-Plane when I try to load it in the sim with the TDS installed. Edited February 21, 20251 yr by Matchstick
February 21, 20251 yr Moderator Sadly, Windows only , I guess this is because it still requires the use of the Garmin trainer?
