Horizon simulations 789 takeoff problem

Good luck fluffy, this week I've had a broken heating boiler, broken washing machine, and a leaking car so I cant take anymore troubleshooting right now.

I'm going to go and fly circuits at EINN in the Fokker F28 and step away from the -9 until it's sorted.

It goes without saying though that I remain extremely grateful to the developers for bringing us the -9 and am confident they'll get to the bottom of the issue very quickly.

Wow! And it's not Mercury Retrograde... Just imagine the outcome if it was 🙂

I get an error "wind data uplink wind data uplink rejected due to message error" when attempting to download winds, I was able to download the Simbrief flightplan. Is this not modeled? Thanks

I used to get errors similar to the above when importing data from simbrief into the fms. I then downloaded/used the 789  bsimbrief profile from their discord when planning and all was good again.

Did anyone have a problem with TAKE OF WEIGHT? I was taking a flight now from Haneda to Frankfurt and my TOW was 245.5, but when I went to calculate the takeoff performance on the EFB/Tablet it was configured for a maximum takeoff weight of just 226273, and in the simbrief profile provided by Horizon itself the maximum weight takeoff weight is close to 254kg.

The max takeoff weight shown in the EFB performance calculator depends on the runway lenght (and other factors like temperature etc.). You probably chose one of the shorter runways at Haneda, and therefore could not takeoff.
In contrast to that the MTW of the aircraft itself is a structural weight limit. So just because you aircraft won't break up with 245 tons, it doesn't mean it can take off from a short runway.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
