the old OrbX scenery had quite a few bushes here and there, on the border of the hangars and taxiways and such... I don't remember precisely though. Was this realistic, compared to how the actual airport really looks

Hard to say as I don't have (anymore) access to the Orbx scenery. I did my best to match what was visible from Internet (flickr, maps, youtube, any google search...). For example, the raw of bushes/trees along the road ending in the bay and the fish&wildlife harbor. I elevated slightly the area and add trees/bushes. It's "mandatory" in all of my scenery because I want to hide as much as possible horizon line when in MSFS, seated in a cockpit. Same along the river, although here its harder to add cool bushes. Not to mention that I know by experience (see my Marble Canyon scenery) that bushes are transform into big tree with some relative old "trees mod" 😉

Already version 1.2 !

I know it could be surprising to have that quick 1.1 and now 1.2. But as an amateur, I'm doing all these 100% alone without any feedback during the building process. In my world, my v1.0 could be compared to the Alpha for pro 😉 My v1.0 is a way to have feedback as I'm alone in front of my launching and relaunching endlessly MSFS 😉

Don't get me wrong, I was in fact very pleasantly surprised by the speed at which you update your sceneries ! 😉

The line of trees/bushes that line the runway must have grown up after the Orbx version was created... Not sure it is a welcome addition since it creates a bit of a "tunnel" effect.. Maybe get the chainsaw out and do some tree removal.. see screenshot

Is it my imagination or has the runway been widened since I was last there?

It may be the angle of view, your imagination or work done to widened the runway, but the MSFS runway seems to fit the satellite image 😉What I can slightly resize is the underlayed area but it's already slightly transparent

I haven't too much options. The polygon drawing the vegetation is already at its minimum in size and quantity. I can force it to a different biome but my tests show that for example bushes generation doesn't feel good. It looks like an artificial alignement of bushes, sometime floating above the ground. I add the same issue with my Marble Canyon airport. Not to mention that bushes are modified by a lot of "trees mod" here and here and creates huge tall trees instead. Second option is putting manually bush objects but there is look to greenish and also artificial. Not to mention it won't fit a probable update season tool (upcoming or something like REX AccuSeason).

There are several factors here. 1: As you say, my imagination. 2: That tiny RV14A. 3: Perhaps the original Orbx one was wrong. Very, very few of us would have known.

In any event this is great work you're doing. 👍

I see the problem.. but I wonder if there might be a third option: to leave the vegetation polygon out altogether.

The long strip of vegetation looks artificial, as you say... What happens if you remove the polygon?

After my question about the trees.. let me say one more time that I truly enjoy having Lana's Cafe back! 🙂

Just a gentle little dip, now. Nothing to be concerned about.

KHQM is one of my favorite west coast airports. Nice work!
