September 7, 20232 yr A heads up on something I just bumped into, that I thought might tickle somebody else's fancy, as well. https://www.vstepsimulation.com/nautis-simulator/nautis-home/ Edited September 7, 20232 yr by HiFlyer We are all connected..... September 11, 20232 yr Moderator Somehow I don't think I would enjoy such a snail's pace voyage across an ocean. I'd likely enjoy more watching paint dry on my living room's walls... 🤪 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
September 14, 20232 yr Author But of course, to many people, flightsims are just as, if not more boring, as you essentially sit for hours monitoring instruments, with not much happening on your transatlantic/pacific flight.... Truck drivers of the sky..... Different strokes. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. September 14, 20232 yr That reflection flashing / shimmer and lack of AA is awful. Is that on low settings or something? 🤨 [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

There must be skills to driving a ship, or anyone would be allowed to do it and ships' Captains would not be able to command the huge salaries that they do. Edited September 14, 20232 yr by Reader

I hope Nautis allows higher simrates (>128x) or gets a Jump Ahead function (same as the one in the FSL and QW birds for P3D). 7 hours ago, Reader said: That's how I feel about Formula 1 motor racing Just ignore Verstappen's existence and then F1 is somewhat decent 😂 Best regards, Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. March 15, 20242 yr Subscription model is for the birds. What a shame. Its a very nice simulation despite lacking harbor scenery. On the other hand , Navismaster is a modern version of Virtual Sailor NG. Still early Alpha, but the water and lighting looks pretty darn good for an Alpha. There is a free download and a Patreon version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js8qNkEeBJA CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
March 15, 20242 yr Having crossed the Pacific Ocean three times on troop ships and being bored silly most of the time I would think on-line boredom would be more than I would care for unless the sim included pornographic novels to read while cruising the ocean blue. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 22, 20242 yr Until it includes a full steam turbine engine room, I'm not interested. I don't care how out of date it is. 😉 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
