I'm afraid I have news for you. Our servers are still feeling the strain and the sales numbers are on a par with the 146 Professional, which sold amazingly well and continues to do so.

Lots of avsimmers always know better.

You don't need to apologise, that's cool. That's how you feel. We'll agree to disagree on the pricing, no problem again, all about your opinion.  Not sure too many who have bought it already would

I feel it's pretty common sense to pay a little more for something outside of the various 737/a320 renditions of addons that have plenty of available resources for systems implementations etc etc.

Hi mate.  I had been waiting patiently for almost two years for the F28.  Having bought their 146 - I knew it would be solid. I think by now you'll understand and have seen that the F28 is a stun

But it's not for everyone, so thanks for your feedback, maybe one day you'll be able to pick it up at a discounted price in a sale, at a price that you feel is fairer for you.

Great to hear it is selling well. I enjoy your 146 a lot, and have bought quite a few more JF airplanes for MSFS (and P3D; and FSX 🙂 ).

I didn't want to imply that your price is unfair. I know some top developers personally and know first-hand how much work goes into a creation like the F28. Any advanced airplane model is a bargain when it comes to fairness. However, it is not about fairness, just about my expectation of what I would do with the plane and whether that would be worth it for me. I may pick up the F28 later in a sale, but I would be genuinely happy if you disprove my pessimistic market estimate 🙂

I just don't think that, at a price that is higher than almost all other offerings, a lot of people will buy an airplane that is not used by any airline anymore and has only been built 241 times.

I dont think that point will turn out to be correct.  Many airplanes no longer in use sell well, from GA, jet fighters, WW2 or airliiners.

Using a sim like MSFS gives us the opportunity to fly many different types and ages of aircraft that real pilots cant do.  I enjoy flying a modern airliner like the Airbus A320, but also the challenge of flying aircraft with less automation.  The F28 is great BECAUSE it hasn't got a magenta line to follow or an autothrottle. 🙂  The BAe is halfway between the two, so another unique challenge. It is also from Just Flights Professional line, so we know the model, complexity and flying qualities will all be top notch.

No critisicm of your choice of course!

It's a broken record: how much people comment on what they think they are willing to pay for a a new aircraft. I don't think there's a good answer for this. All I know is that making aircrafts for msfs has gotten very complicated and time consuming for developers.

As I see it, the cost of getting closer to reality is getting more expensive for everyone. One can think about it just like the difference between taking real flying lessons and flying in msfs. One hour in a Cessna will cost you $100, but it's real. $150 will buy you msfs and a Boeing and you can fly all around the world. But it's not real.

I respect a developer who spends 1-2 years of development time to bring us a new aircraft to this new platform.

Frankly, it's ok if in the privacy of our minds  we decide whether to purchase a product based on cost or perceived value.

To squabble in public about $10 or $20 on a product that practically everyone agrees is a high fidelity product is, in my opinion, not very interesting conversation that promotes our hobby.

In the case of the Fokker, I see it as an opportunity to go back in time and experience flying as it was done 50 years ago. I don't compare it with an Airbus and decide that the Fokker should be cheaper because it does not provide all the bells and whistles of an Airbus. Rather, I am paying for the experience to go back in time, to a world where pilots required more flying and navigational skills than simply  knowledge of which buttons to push.

To this end, squabbling about the sticker price ( and let's be realistic... we're talking about $10 or $20 difference--not thousands) might be  missing the point of why we choose this hobby and the price we're willing to pay to improve it ever more.

I am not feeling the urge to pay more than for any other MSFS airplane to acquire the F28. I am sorry, but that's how I feel about it.

Don't feel sorry, but that is how economics work.... Price, demand etc.
Some, like me, have no issues with the price related to the product offered and buy it.
Others think it's way too overpriced and don't buy it.
That's the beauty of our current system: No one forces you or me to buy anything.
And it is totally free to the supplier to determine a price.

The F28 has been meticulously developed for over 2 years.

Obvious tons of research and resources went into the documented development of this addon.

I would expect planes like the BAE 146,MD-82, 717 and F28 to cost a little more.

These are highly detailed crafted aircraft with who knows how much headache of gathering old archived documentation or calling people experienced with the operation or development of the aircraft.

We don't know what went on behind the scenes with JF developing this plane for so long, if they feel $70 price tag on the F28 is a great ROI for business then so be it.

I do find it annoying the same biased people always find a bone to pick with developers like JustFlight, Leonardo, TFDi and DC Designs when it comes to pricing on both forums.

You are free to simply wait for discount sales or don't purchase at all, but trying to use your own little "20+ year simmer consumer experience" as gospel while trying to dictate the pricing of software you have no first hand experience in building is absurd.

I'm not going to frankenmod this plane. Via Simbrief you can set up a VOR to VOR flightplan, and then use the radios to navigate.

I shot VOR approach but still I need GPS and autopilot since I don't have first officer to assist 🙂

So tldr: Everyone who bought it says "It's great, please don't talk about the price, it's annoying" and everyone who didn't buy says "The price is too high, it's not a popular aircraft". The former are justiying their purchase and the latter their non-purchase. This leads to nowhere. Really interesting would be if in a year from now on those people are still flying it or if it will end up in the hangar because of the 777 and other fine aircraft releases.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I'm very pleased with it. It's surprisingly similar to the 146 to fly and some of the gauges seem to have been reused so it maybe is a tad too expensive but that's OK.

FYI since we got your attention in the forums, we really need a long range study level Business Jet in MSFS with the level of detail of this F28.  It's hard for many to get exited about airliners that are no longer flying in much of the real world unless they were real popular in their day.  We need something that can get across the pond comfortably in an arena of aviation that hasn't been covered much in any version of FS.  There's no question where your sales would be with an effort like this.  Posts addressing concerns like what you answered here would almost be none existent.🍺

Oh people would find other things to be concerned about, don't you worry about that.  That said, we're used to it, it is what it is.

It's possibly hard for you and others you know to get excited about such aircraft but many do still.  As said earlier, sales have been great for this since release and sales for the 146 Pro remain super-healthy so there's enough demand there, rest assured.

But again, each to their own and thanks for your suggestion.  All the best.
