September 1, 20223 yr Austin just commented over on the .org forums; Quote Yah the cloud pulsing is a bug in the real weather... it is literally impossible to notice at regular speed.. you just see it at 100x replay speed, which is what we have here. I have it on the list to fix during beta.. though this fix will be impossible to ever notice at anything BUT time-lapse movies.. BUT time-lapse movies are fun, and I want to be sure the weather is accurate at each moment in TIME, so I'll still get this addressed during the beta. and Quote oh huh-huh... consider the pulsing cloud reports here to be the first-ever bug report of the public beta. odd that the report can only be made if you look at the sim at 100x speed, and that the report is made before the release of the sim... but still yah this is the first beta report. (though of course there have been a gajiliion ALPHA reports internally) Edited September 1, 20223 yr by Sethos [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

September 1, 20223 yr And than you wonder why they dont post anything. Just look for things to complain about.
September 1, 20223 yr This is a little disappointing. Why release a video that misrepresents the final product? I bet it doesn't look like that when played at normal speed. Overall, it makes me tone down my expectations. Who made the call to release that video? It makes no sense.

September 1, 20223 yr Just about everyone -- both here and over at .org -- seems to be ignoring the fact that the point of the timelapsed video was to show that X-Plane 12 was able to "fly" for 10 hours straight without a CTD. It was a memory leak test (and a successful one I'd say).
September 1, 20223 yr And Austin even popped in and said cloud popping only occurs at those speeds, you wont notice it an normal speed.

Than you would just complain more, can they ever win, i doubt it. Probably be better off they never released it, than you can complain about your complaining that caused them to give up, so they wouldnt have to deal with the complaints. Than we would have a melt down.

September 1, 20223 yr I know its still early, but man, when on the ground, the graphics are looking rough. Like...2015 rough.
September 1, 20223 yr I do not understand why they refuse to put watermarks on their videos and images with the words "ALPHA" or "Pre-release" or....something! Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...
September 2, 20223 yr These clouds are not ready for prime time. A lot more work needs to be done. Including modeling all the types of clouds and mix of clouds etc. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

Better to keep the discussion to X-Plane 12 anyway. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
September 2, 20223 yr I'm not sure what relevance this video is other than show one can speed up a video to a point where one can't really see anything of value. But that's just me. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
