The only way I was able to replicate that was to go into the presets and set the cloud density to about 100. I have not seen this in live weather in ages and none of the presets have it without the user messing with it. And I'd still take that over those 240p looking clouds in the current XP12 build.

It was the preset that came with the sim.

I am not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater since the other presets look pretty descent. 

Some of us just prefer Xplane. I can not put my finger on it, maybe its the feeling of flying on rails.
