  1. No issues here flying from Iceland to Greenland currently...
  2. Maybe MS could change the wording then? Because if I remember correctly, it’s labeled “max frame rate”.
  3. Bob, I don't think you can say "actually there is" when the "solution" you listed costs 9 bucks a month. I know it's not a lot of money, but the original item was and is.... free. I don't view those similarly.
  4. The thing I've learned about Fenix is that the wait is always worth it. When they release something, it is in near perfect condition -- more so than any other developer. So, as the wait can feel long, at least when we do finally get the shiny new plane, we don't have to spend a ton of time complaining about why they should've taken more time to release a finished bird.
  5. Having watched the part about the Praetor it made me realize just how much money any developer will get if someone could finally officially license the Gulfstream. Imagine having this level of fidelity for a G800. MS has the money and MSFS has the reputation that makes me feel like somehow, someway they could finally work a deal out to get something as awesome as a G800 officially licensed. Imagine doing LAX-SYD in a BUSINESS JET with that kind of avionics. Done on this level, it would probably be the best selling plane in the history of flight simulation. Sometimes I dream...
  6. And they still command top dollar for their planes, too! I recently broke down and bought their 777F. The wife and kid went to Grandma and Grandpas in Florida and I needed a new project. While it’s good, it’s not great. PMDG products used to be great. I don’t know why they got lazy, maybe they grew complacent being “the best”, but when you compare their planes to the Fenix A32X’s — it’s not even close. For example, just go look at the texturing right above the mode control panel on their 777. Like…what is that?! You really nailed it on the head by saying they don’t innovate anymore because they used to be top dog on innovation but now most of their products just feel like port overs with slightly enhanced textures — not to even mention they haven’t released a NEW plane in over — what? 10 years now?
  7. This is obviously very exciting and I’m pumped to hear they’re looking to simulate things as fine tuned to how the temperate registers before it enters the engines to after — but, if they don’t pay the same attention to the avionics, then it’ll be a bust, or bummer — kind of like the ATR is, which I’ll admit is totally acceptable and I’ve had many of fun hours on that plane, but if they’re going for “expert”, the whole plane should be flawless.
  8. ...I wrote the comment. Most adults can deduce that what I wrote is my opinion. What an odd comment to make.
  9. This is honestly the most maddening thing about the MSFS development team. I know they read these forums and it blows my mind they're fine with X-Plane smoking them on clouds and weather. Weather is arguably the most important aspect of flight and they're totally OK with their current version being completely meh. I hope someone can talk sense into them because it's MSFS's weakest component.
  10. 100% I definitely wasn't trying to stick up for PMDG and blame MSFS for their lack of sophistication on turbulence because, as you mention -- other addon planes don't suffer from the same issues PMDG planes do. It actually blows my mind that the same bugs are still present in MSFS2024 that were in P3D and even beyond.
  11. PMDG reccomends turning turbulence off, or since you're in 2024 -- to low. They say it isn't modeled accurately.
  12. Are you running @ 4k? I have a 3080 and was getting OK performance with mostly high settings and a few ultra settings. I have a second monitor that is 1080, so I got curious to see what the difference in performance would be -- NIGHT AND DAY. The complete gain in performance was well worth it for me to downsize resolution. I can now run almost everything on ultra, with FSLTL and in the Fenix.
  13. FBW planes, and all though they’re a labor of love and free — aren’t optimized all that well. It’s time to bite the bullet and purchase the Fenix A320. I thought for the longest time that the FBW would suffice but then I gave in and purchased the Fenix and it’s easily one of the best addon planes in all of flight sim. It’s very well optimized now. Also, if you’re asking questions regarding performance— it’s good to list your computer / screen specs.
  14. Can anyone confirm the weather radar tilt, please.
  15. I'll give credit where credit is due. I've bashed PMDG on their exterior / interior model in the past, because -- well, we all know. But this is truly a step up and I finally believe that the $35 upgrade fee is mostly worthy. Anyone know if their 777 is getting the same treatment? I'm on the fence about the 777F, but into it for the price. There's TONS of them flying around and doing cargo ops could be a fun change of pace.
  16. I want to know what you said that was a “light hearted April fools” comment because I can pretty much promise you it came across as accusatory. These things take time. Boeing and Airbus have massive teams designing these planes and developers often have like a dozen people. It’s complex stuff also. The iFly is perfectly flyable in MSFS2024 and making it seem like such an emergency that you finally had to make a comment on these forums seems overly dramatic.
  17. I think it only works on 2020, no?
  18. One of the things I love so far about FSLTL is that I'm not seeing any performance degradation. I have it set to 30 IFR planes and an 8 on parked aircraft and it's smooth as butter. It's completely changed sim flying for me. Everything feels alive now. I always thought my computer couldn't run traffic so I was flying around in an empty world. It's so much fun now.
  19. ... to install FSLTL!? I've been a happy "customer" of the FBW A320 for years. In their installer, I've always seen the FSLTL base/injector option, but with my measly 3080 - i7-11700K, I always figured it would kill my frame rates. Last week I read somewhere you could just download the base models to populate parked planes at airports with the relevant local liveries. I haven't been impressed with the default options so I decided to give it a go. I was blown away. Actual models that look good in the right spot. I thought I'd see how "bad" the performance could be with the live traffic injector so I gave that a go. I can't believe I've waited this long to at least try it out. I just did a night flight and for the first time I could see tons of flashing nav lights in all directions and there is ZERO performance degradation. Read this and move on, but I just wanted to let anyone who's looking at that option on FBW installer and wondering.... INSTALL IT! We owe so much to the wonderful folks in our hobby that dedicate hours and hours to give use such wonderful tools for free. Honestly, thank you.
  20. Incredibly pleased to see you guys are in fact “the real deal”. We’ve needed a high fidelity 787 going back to 2020 and I knew that PMDG wouldn’t develop a 78 until MSFS 2032. I look forward to seeing all the updates to this development! Do you guys have Discord up yet?
  21. Great! Have you guys began working on it? Because paying for something and having it be basically unusable is pretty annoying.
  22. What an odd comment to make. You do know he's an airline pilot, right? Like, you know that right? How can you tell a literal airline pilot that they don't place much value on knowing or verifying certain numbers? It was honestly embarrassing reading your comments. I need to go take a shower now or something. Yikes.
  23. It is the last update 2020 will ever get for it though. After this, everything is only 2024.
  24. Man, this looks awesome. For me, it’s the nail in the coffin for PMDG when comparing the two. I know they’re different planes, but iFlys’ EFB was its only detractor but with this update, I think it’s pretty easy to see which is the more polished product.
