Piper Arrow (any) or Mooney M20R?

I have both, and while the Carenado Mooney is actually very good, I would buy the JF Arrow bundle for its immersion and atmosphere inside the cockpit.

Or if you want to save a bit of money, just get the Arrow turbo.

I believe rather than buying the bundled package directly you can still buy the standard JF Arrow and get a voucher for 66% off the Turbo Arrow which works out cheaper than buying the package.

If IFR is important, I think Carenado Mooney is the better option as it is equipped with a modern autopilot.

Yeah I'm torn.  The Mooney definitely has a more modern cockpit,  is a lot faster.  But the Turbo Arrow has a lot more character, flies a lot better.  Visually, they both look great.

I own both but have had little time for either.

So there are actually three options in the fast complex single market:

  • Rob Young turbo enhanced Bonanza mod (freeware)
  • Carenado Mooney
  • Just Flight Turbo Arrow

To be honest though, despite being the slowest of the three and most expensive the of the three, JF Arrow wins out if you have to choose just the one.

The JF Arrow is coming to the marketplace soon, but I would buy it direct, Just Flight support is very good whereas MS Support for marketplace issues with third party products, not so much.

That sux I bought the bundle didn't do the math.

The bundle only exists at all because MS refused to allow them to offer discounts to owners of previous addons when it eventually hits the marketplace so they had to invent a bundle instead.

They are also offering a 25% discount on the Warrior II, not sure if that will engender yet another bundle (or potentially 3 bundles if you want to offer all possible combinations of Warrior, Arrow and Turbo Arrow) to comply with the MS marketplace rules, I suspect it probably will.

Sorry about that :(

I'm on the phone still on hold with Milviz sales trying to place an order for the forthcoming Cessna 310.....I am hopeful the delay is the wait for the ability to support Reality XP GPS units.....  please continue to hold, a representative will be with you shortly.  Please understand shortages of SDK materials caused by the pandemic may cause additional not-invented-here-syndrome and  further GPS delays.  Your patience is appreciated.....  Please continue to hold......

When you do get through, grab one for me as well 🙂

I have both...the Mooney was my go to aircraft, then picked up the JF Arrow...  that is now my go to aircraft.  Mooney is a nice solid add on but the Arrow somehow has more character.

A Grumman Tiger would be nice to see in MSFS....

Wait a little bit. I have the Mooney and the Arrow (no turbo). The Arrow is slow, and a bear to climb.... the turbo definitely would help that but its still not a rocket ship. The JF products do have good system depth... and to me feel like flying an airplane the most. The Mooney looks great, sounds good... but lacks system depth... and I am skeptical about the flight model. It can roll like an aerobatic airplane.

Personally I am waiting on the Milviz 310, or the A2A Comanche. Both would give you fast, high, IFR... and study level. If you can swing it, buy the turbo arrow now, and buy the others later. I am holding off on the turbo arrow, hoping for one of those two.

These aircraft all "feel " different it is hard to describe in words and numbers.

So, no idea if it will help but  just for comparison ... a selection of random videos (without commentary) of the Turbo Arrow III (just has more character) , the Carenado Mooney (fastest but more generic in feel) and the Piaggio P149 (similar speed to the standard Arrow, outrageous fun to fly) ...

OH! I didn't know about the 310 and Comanche. You're right, I think I'll sit tight until one or both of these are released.

I also understand Milviz is making the SR-71 for MSFS. They started it for P3D but decided to switch over to MSFS. I know it'll be a while before they finish that one, but I consider the Blackbird to be the Holy Grail of planes. That's a Day One buy for me.

For me the Arrow, both standard and the turbo, are far bettrer than the Mooney. I have both, and when I sit in it in the Arrow it reminds me that I could almost be flying an A2A aircraft, I don't feel that with the Mooney. In fact, since getting the Arrow on it's launch, I have not flown the Mooney since! 😉

Both the Comanche from A2A and the Milviz 310 could be awhile... no release date. The 310 I think was talked about for release this summer hopefully... They should be study level GA airplanes. These addons are pricey, sometimes it pays to wait. Use the TBM Mod for now!

From Scott at A2A...  Just to reiterate, we are working on the Comanche 250 now for FS2020. There is a lot of tech being built for the first time so once we manage to complete the Comanche 250 other airplanes will follow in a more predictable manner like FSX and P3D development.
