They are G-Skill but have no idea the exact number, and could not get it from Speccy. I guess I might have to take one out to read it. Argggh. If you purchased it a while ago, you would be better off to sell it (donate it) and get a quad Kit of 4x8 Sticks. More sticks with lower capacity would most cases outperform less sticks with higher capacity (but you won't be able to notice the difference) Gerald K. - Germany AMD 7800x3D / ASUS ROG X670E-Gaming / ASUS Strix RTX 3090 OC / 64 Gb RAM GSKILL. July 15, 20205 yr Author Well step 1 is to try it with what I have and see what its like. Step 2, if I decide to upgrade is to search for a match, if that fails then yes I will upgrade to 4x8 or 2x16. Mark CYYZ

July 15, 20205 yr More RAM is NOT always better. More RAM can be unnecessary and a waste of money. And if forced to fill all slots a negative impact on overclocking. I would advise waiting for factual information regarding the new sims true requirement before spending money. Hypothesis no. Facts yes. Edited July 15, 20205 yr by martin-w

Yes, I've almost always had to reduce memory overclock settings for stability when moving from two to four DIMMs due to the added stress on the memory controller.

Facts yes. ...isn't the factual information contained in the system specs that Asobo released months ago? It says the ideal spec is 32GB.

But all I've seen is 16GB as the recommended. Where did you see 32GB? Your system will work fine even combining other RAM sticks but it will only have the performance given by the worst stick. If you are an enthusiast pushing OC in every way possible (I'm not) you might have to settle with little less of what you would expect. Since RAM speed actualy has, let's say, a lesser impact on performance, you realy should not notice any difference. Btw. since System Requirements thread is closed: New rumor: AMD RDNA2 might have 40% percent more performance than 2080TI. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-big-navi-would-yield-40-50-percent-more-than-the-geforce-rtx-2080-ti.html It`s not impossible if the chips are glued together as seen in TRipper.
