Same here. Apart of that number, the FSUIPC Traffic Limiter allows you to set 5 more parameters regarding AI Traffic preferences.

Are there any freeware versions available? I do not know if an AI limiter would improve performance or not, so I would prefer to test this without wasting any funds.

Try Ai Companion. Excellent utility for the AIG Ai package and it does include a traffic limiter option although I haven't tried it. Not sure if it requires a paid version of FSUIPC.

AI companion is very handy, great tool

Just a side note, it won’t work with any Ultimate Traffic Live

Hi,

Take a look at these two... AI Ground and AIFlow. They have a range of capabilities to better controlling AI. Atm there's quite a bit of active development on these tools currently.

FYI- I believe these two utilities are UT2Live compatible if you have it installed.

Cheers

What I am looking for is to be able to restrict the number of displayed AI planes to a specific number based on proximity to my own aircraft.

The Ai bubble in P3D v4 extends to 80nm from your position. Outside that there aren't any. Have you tried Ai Companion yet? It can be run across a network if you have WideFS but as you don't have FSUIPC (paid) I'm assuming that's not an option.

It seems that AI Companion should also work with the free version of FSUIPC, so I will have a look at that.

Possibly another good option might be Lorby's "RemoveAiSleepers", which is an external tool to remove sleeping AI that are not departing in a selected time frame. Note: does not work with any of the "Ultimate Traffic" products.  This way you get the benefits of removing AI Aircraft, but without affecting moving eye candy.

Dave, I used to use that with MyTraffic6 because aircraft were being positioned at gates hours before they departed meaning no gates for my arrival. It was very effective in getting rid of Ai not due to depart for more than an hour ahead.

But the schedules in AIG are far more accurate and I was advised I wouldn't need RAIS. Never used it after that and everything is fine.
