Session with Fs-Gs : results are incredible ! !

Featured Replies

I realize dual view gives better frames. I would get 50-60 sometimes if I unlocked. I get 20-30 in span mode with most planes and down to 15 or so at really busy airports. Cumulus clouds really get the frames down to 10-12 or so when flying through them or near them or too many of them. I like span mode because you run full screen and you dont have to go through the undocking and moving all the windows routine. And it looks so much bigger in virtual cockpit and spot modes. I may contact FS-GS but it may be span mode is just too much for my system especially the video card which is a Geforce 6600(not GT). I may be upgrading to a 7800GT soon so I may wait. The rest of my system appears adequate. AMD 3700+, 2 gigs ram, Asus A8n Sli deluxe, Ultra 500 watt power supply, 2 Maxtor hard drives, thermaltake case, 2 19 inch Samsung Syncmaster 930b's.

I have used him, split it into 2-3 days, had my system running very well. Out of respect to his service people will not disclose what he does to the detail but it is worth the money. He has even helped me via phone months later for PC/SIM chit chat if you will.Hats off to you Michael!!http://www.lemosnet.com/misc/gpilotsig.jpg

Michael's service is indeed incredible. I recently purchased a new Velocity Micro computer--FX-60, 7900 GTX, the works. Out of the box FS2004 runs pretty good. But you can bet that I set up an appointment with Michael first thing because no matter how powerful the machine is I know that after Michael does his thing it'll be that much better. I asked to write the AVSIM review because of how much FS-GS helped me and I'm glad to see that it directed people to their service. Regards,Matt Clement

Just a quick question - is the advice (and changes) given specific to your actual machine or more generic ?The reason i ask is if you ever upgraded your machine, could the advice that you've already received be moved over to the new machine or would a new session be required ?Gary

Os related things probably are generic, but all other tuning is based on your system.

I just had my initial consultation last night, and wow! I considered myself rather computer savvy until last night. Turns out I have a lot to reinstall and a lot to learn. My whole system will benefit from what I was told last night. I look forward to the full service and to learning some more. Highly recommended!

The service is worth every penny when you consider what you have spent on addon's and cpu's. The service is more then justified. I'm a professional in software testing and know my way around a lot of different technolgies. I learned quite a few new things and my simming experience is beyond what I could have hoped for when I started with the service. As one forum user posted stated, nobody that uses the service is going to give out the detail's in respect of Michael's service. I can only tell you, have some faith and try it if you are fustrated with your flight sim experience now. Having all sliders to the right, with 90% AI, all the scenery addon's that are worth having, smooth as you never thought you could get out of your sim. My B200 has never been even close to this level of flyability until I started the service. I installed so many things wrong in the sim, no wonder it sucked.Try the service. The review that was posted on Avsim and his website should give you all the confidence you need to go for it.Fly Higher and faster and smoother.-J

The only thing keeping me back is the time spent, I really dont have 5 hours or more to sit down and work on my computer. Plus, I dont have a microphone either. Maybe one day, though

As mentioned above, yes some things can be applied to any machine. However, most of the work is totally dependent upon your unique setup i.e. the type of RAM you have, Motherboard, Video Card, Processor, etc. etc. With my old system, Michael identified my bottlenecks then helped me remove them. And we aren't talking about tweaks you will find on any forum ( I know because I've spent alot of time looking since my consultation). Not only will FS run better, but so will the machine as a whole.

I use FS-GS and found the service and Michael to be fair and worth the $$. I have been able to maintain very excellent performance ever since, despite an OS reinstall. I still stay in contact mainly to pick Michael's brain on best drivers etc and he is always helpful to give me his best recommendations and so far I have not been disappointed. I view Michael's service the kind of service you can offer if you make a total obsession (or a business :()) out doing lots of testing, tinkering, studying, thinking, testing, etc until you can actually offer something to someone maybe who just doesn't have the time to test and retest all possibilities in order to develop an effective approach to optimizing FS simming experience. I'd say the results were definitely worth it. One of these days I should contact Michael to see if it would be worth a retune. But . . . things are pretty sweet most of the time in the area of fluidity & IQ.Noel

What I meant is that I've spent alot of time looking to see if the techniques that Michael use are available freely, and frankly they just are not. Understandable considering the number of years it has taken Michael to perfect his System Unification process.Anyway just wanted to make sure I didn't mislead anyone.

Hi Gerard,Sounds all very impressive, but still another questionDid or can the service of FS-GS also include networking aspects, especilally in relation to the smooth running of Wideview server and clients ???See you, Jan

Michael at FS-GS does an awesome job! I have a 3.4 Ghz P4, with 1 GB of RAM, and (prior to the System Unification services), an ATI 9800 XT card with 256 MB RAM. Almost all of my flying is low level VFR in helicopters, in the NYC area. A challenging environment, to be sure. I realized a major increase in quality of the visual experience, as well as smoother performance. All of my scenery and aircraft detail sliders are are on maximum, and I am using ActiveSky 6 as well, and the sim is more flyable than before system optimization.I then upgraded to a new GeForce 6800 GS CO video card, and realized about a 10 FPS increase in performance . :-) I then added Ground Environment, and that made things look even better!Michael invested over eight hours with me on MSN Messenger working on the configuration at every level - from the BIOS to Windows registry settings, video card settings and display drivers, dual Windows user profiles for memory maximization, FS2004 configuration, FS Autostart configuration, and AS6 settings, and then he assisted me with the reconfiguration when I got the new video card!I am a senior technical specialist in the software industry, and have been in the business for a long time, and I can tell you that Michael has a very in-depth knowledge of Windows system performance tuning and real time graphics.I have no business relationship with FS-GS - I'm just a very satisfied customer!WayneMetro One / NMH01Chief Pilot / Executive DirectorMetro Helicopters VAwww.metrohelo.org
