Solutions

  1. garydpoole's post in EZdok and VC Cockpit Control issue was marked as the answer
    Same problem in Aerosoft A319.

    Quite easy to solve.

Create a clone VC camera position in EZCA to the one that you use to fly the a/c, but disable the zoom feature. That way, the same view serves two purposes depending upon whether you wish to zoom or not.

Btw, I use the keys, Shift+0 or Shift+1 to 'switch' between the two views - although technically, I see no actual change in view.

  2. garydpoole's post in FSX SE - Script Error when Loading was marked as the answer
It would appear that I actually had two, unrelated issues:

Installing IE 11 removed the script errors - many thanks !

However, the PC still locked up after selecting "Free Flight". After much searching and experimenting, the cause of the lock ups was eventually traced to a "rogue" NVidia driver version, 361.43. See:

Uninstalled, updated to a more reliable version and the problem has gone.
