Pyreegue Dev Co. EGPH - Edinburgh Airport II Released
Absolutely. I have V1 and intend to just keep it. But I do wonder, given the fact that I may not be alone in making this decision, and that this 'a complete rebuild', the developer's time could have been better spent bringing a brand new airport to the market as opposed to a 're-hash' of an existing one, which, at the end of the day, is still very good ?

MSFS 2024 Discount for 2020 Users?
I dont believe anyone is, it seems like it was just a question of curiosity. Regarding the perceived 'absurdity' of discounts for owning previous sim versions of a product, I have been given numerous discounts by scenery producers when purchasing FS2020 airports after having previously purchased the P3D version. So the idea is not as outlandish as it sounds.

Improving the Captain Sim 767-300
I bought the -400 for $9.99 and successfully managed to tweak the necessary cfg files to reduce both power and weight and it flew a lot better. Then just started to use mods that became available on flightsim.to. However, it was always the -300ER that I wanted, so once again, got this in the sale with the intention of tweaking the cfg files to improve upon the default 747 parameters. Unfortunately, every time that I applied a reduction in the fuel tank arrangement, the sim ended in a stutter-fest. I narrowed it down to which lines were causing the stutters, but never managed to fix it. So just abandoned it. Which is a real shame as it looks lovely both inside and outside of the cockpit.

GSX Pro yes or no?
Is this not a simple Community folder installation ? Got an email from FSDT the other day stating all products, inc GSX Pro are 30% off and was tempted. But I really can't be doing with files being installed hither and dither as per the old P3D days.

Save function for Fenix A320 is completely useless???
For me, it has nothing to do with CTDs and stability, it has everything to do with time. On a lot of occasions, I just don't have the time to complete a flight. Being able to save, then pickup from where I left off, weather changes notwithstanding, is how I would benefit from a reliable save / load function. And it obviously can be done as I have used it with the PMDG which, btw, was great for takeoff practises - shame FSiPanel, as far as I know, can't be used for this purpose...

Save function for Fenix A320 is completely useless???
Totally agree. However, if FSiPanel is capable of completely configuring the Fenix for an approach at any airport you care to mention, including the MCDU, based upon the approach parameters, then surely it shouldn't be a giant leap to do the same, but this time, based upon saved parameters ?

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
I suspect that this is related to how 'enthusiastic' you are at changing System service affinities. I got a bit carried away with a block change, the result being that MSFS refused to load. Reinstated them and all was well...

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Can I assume that the above should read, "...except you must NOT run PL before starting MSFS else it may/will not load." ?
-
Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Mainly for the more intuitive UI and the ability to group change affinity values. And to give it a try as it's free.

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Thanks. Thanks for the info. Regarding TM, I'm actually using a mod that maintains any values changed, hence, my initial question. Regards

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Quick question, I have already assigned some affinities using Windows Task Manager, if I then use PL, would I first have to reset them back in Task Manager then assign them in PL to prevent a 'conflict' between Task Manager and PL ? Thanks.

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
My bad - I assumed that having a tick meant that the dll was enabled, didn't realise that I had to actually click the tick (it was there but greyed out). All working fine now. Thanks for your assistance and sorry for wasting your time !

Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Thanks, but as I said, I have allocated the hot key (via HotkeyHandler.dll), it just doesn't seem to do anything in the SIm when I press it ? Btw, a/c is Fenix A320.
-
Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame Rates
Reference the above hot key, I've allocated a key to the toggle 'frame rate limiter', but I see no effect when pressing it within the sim. Just to clarify, once the key has been pressed within the sim, the frame rates should go from locked, eg, 30fps, to unlocked (and vice versa) ?

FSX:SE and Networked Configuration?
Ah, I see. I guess this begs the question why would anyone buy this version then ?
-
FSX:SE and Networked Configuration?
Not too sure what you mean by the 'Steam Edition' of ASN, but I'm certainly running ASN networked with FSX SE without any issues ?
-
FSX:SE and Networked Configuration?
I can confirm that ASN will definitely run networked (via simconnect) as this is exactly what I do - can be tricky to initially configure with simconnect though ! Another programme that I network is AirTrafficManager, which plays very nicely across the network. Others are FSPS's Runway bumping Effect and PFE. Basically, if the programme is designed to run across a network, then that's what I do !

Simstarter NG
If you're just interested in loading FSX with custom profiles, then their freeware version does the job superbly - no longer supported, but free ! http://aviation.pero-online.de/wordpress/?page_id=105

EZdok and VC Cockpit Control issue
Same problem in Aerosoft A319. Quite easy to solve. Create a clone VC camera position in EZCA to the one that you use to fly the a/c, but disable the zoom feature. That way, the same view serves two purposes depending upon whether you wish to zoom or not. Btw, I use the keys, Shift+0 or Shift+1 to 'switch' between the two views - although technically, I see no actual change in view. Gary

FSX SE - Script Error when Loading
It would appear that I actually had two, unrelated issues: Installing IE 11 removed the script errors - many thanks ! However, the PC still locked up after selecting "Free Flight". After much searching and experimenting, the cause of the lock ups was eventually traced to a "rogue" NVidia driver version, 361.43. See: http://www.avsim.com/topic/480728-psa-nvidia-driver-36143-breaks-combined-aa-modes-in-nvi/ Uninstalled, updated to a more reliable version and the problem has gone. Gary

FSX SE - Script Error when Loading
Hello all I've only just installed FSX SE, which seemed to go fine first time that I run it. However, now whenever I load FSX SE, it opens on the Home tab and I'm faced with the following script error. I have to click "No" to three different, "Do you want to continue running scripts?" error screens before the home page loads. The problem comes when I attempt to load the Free Flight tab; FSX SE just hangs with no Free Flight info loading. Even worse, the whole computer locks up, needing a hard reset to reboot. Various Steam forum postings suggest updating Java, which I've done, but to no avail ! If I remove FSX.cfg and restart FSX SE, the script errors still appear, but three "no" presses does get me to the Free Flight tab ok. However, shut FSX SE down, restart and once again, it locks up attempting the Free Flight tab. This problem does seem relatively common, but I just can't figure it out - any help much appreciated as I've hit a dead-end... Gary
