From my observational perch, I think it is more a matter of content control. To control content, control the posts. If the content is not on par, ban the poster and the content is controlled. After a while everyone gets the picture and either complies or it's bye bye. The degree of such varies from forum to forum. I think the Orbx forum is more for a Q & A about products verses a warm and fuzzy place and rest your coffiee mug and chit chat with any kind of passion. I go there every day to see what is the latest in products but do not attempt to be joking around like I use to. I do not think that type of personality adds anything to that type of forum so I keep my posts as dry as possible. The forum is very civil and factual. I have not been banned but my content is very dry and bland. Like cold oatmeal for breakfast. What kind of trouble will that get you into? I like cold oatmeal, and so do horses, and they cannot be wrong. The Orbx forum used to be a lot more fun, but it is not about fun anymore, it's about information. Breakfast can be fun, but cold oatmeal does the trick, and is good for you. Did I mention horses love it too? Here at Avsim, I try to create havoc and drama thus have the moderators eating :( prozack :( by the handfull every time I post. I am a B) wildman B) on the loose that cannot be tamed. I am the guy at the office party with the woopie cushion. I tell fart jokes in public. :( I cannot be controlled, Oh, I have to go, my wife wants me to cook supper. One of the easiest ways to do that is to refrain from naming specific individuals, and being careful that we don't leave any room for legal recourse. I believe what I asked was only a reasonable request to make sure we stay far away from any such possibilities.Perhaps it is from an over abundance of caution, but I would rather err on that side of the line than the other. I think it makes good sense, and I would think that you might also agree if you weigh all the issues and events. Good words Stephen. I always visit Orbx every day, as I do three other forums. I have to admit at not spending as much time there as I used to. The only thing that keeps me there regularlly is having virtual buddies to chat with, although as has already been said, chit chat is fast becoming a thing of the past and the forum is becoming more akin to offering advice and a place for screenshots. I dropped by this morning to the lounge forum to bring guys up to speed with the release of FS2Crew, I then suddenly remembered that they don't allow promoting of any other third party developer's product... so I dropped by here!

I finished my to do list and my wife gave permission to go on the net. I decided to get a bit crazy this morning so I heated up my oatmeal and added 2 spoons of sugar to my coffee. Fasten your seat belts and get ready for some wild posts. Oh my, I just noticed I got a doctor's appointment and have to go. The moderators can rest easy as I have not the time to troll this morning. I will return with some fresh content, and oatmeal.

As a result, perhaps I am over cautious in this regard, but your reaction reads like you couldn'd give a rip about that or the reasons why.Alain, you can go too far sometimes, and often don't seem to know when you do, or could care less. I expected better support from you for doing my job here in this forum, and showing a bit of restraint when I needed and asked for it. Your other characteristics are entertaining, creative and your posts are fun to read. Like everyone else, I think you are a hoot most times, but sometimes less so. I go to ORBX forum very rarely these days because I'm always afraid that I will say something wrong and get banned (again - it was temporary). Well, being afraid to speak my mind is just not my cup of tea anymore. I go there for support stuff only. I just hope this forum won't became something like that.

I would love who ever sent you that from Orbx to post here, I would love some answers from them.-------------As Stephen has seen I will personally say "sorry" or even give a sincere opolage if I feel I need to, I am not to big/“Arrogant”to stand up and say sorry, I would have done it to JV and any MOD at Orbx "if" they had taken 1 min of there time to tell me how I had got my ban. I would without a doubt sorted it out with them one way or another.Sending Ian a PM and getting nothing back after 3 years with them, spending a lot of money, posting daily and nothing from him, just a Ban.Speaks a lot imo about them.
