SimLauncherX

I'm not sure if I am missing something after reading through the manual but my created flight plan is not loading into the default GPS units. One of the great things about Plan G was the ability to create and export a .pln and then load that .pln through the flight planner of P3D and all the waypoints would then be listed in the GPS unit. This is the only feature that I have been unable to figure out. Thanks for the help. Ryan

Hi, is there any reason why this wont work on vista. I assume there is some logic that looks to see what ver of windows is running, Just that I have an old laptop that i use plang on and was hoping to try this on it. And yes I did try installing it. ta

Initially tried simlauncherx on my network but as I was having problems fully connecting - could not save flight palns or "see" FSX flights etc, I decided to try on my main FSX computer. Sinlauncher instaled correctly but when I tried to start FSX {manually} it crashed during the first few seconds after starting to load. So far I have tried: Uninstalled Sinlauncher including deleting all folder - no change Rebuild FSX.cfg - no change Sytem Restore to before installing Simlauncher - no change There seems to be nothing significant in the crash message other that referring to FSX.exe Having never seen this in many years with FSX, grateful for any advi…

Hi, Installed fine, but when it first loaded it downloaded the new update, than restarted. First it couldnt load scenery dat, but restarting fixed it, it that issue, started updating the scenery data 222 levels but seems to hanging on the last file 222.level. Error log shows loading that level but stops there, have to kill to close .Will do a reinstall tomorrow and see if that fixes the issue. Tried deleting files as per guide. did same thing. WIn7 and FSX.

So far I have done the following: 1. Mapped three drives--one for location of fsx.exe, another for the fsx.cfg, and then for the flight plans 2. Then entered the server MAC address. Got that by hovering mouse over server while on Network in Control Panel. Then pressed the SAVE button. 3. Went to server where SimLauncher X was already installed and then copied the SimLauncherX.FSX.sdf file from ///My Documents/SimLauncherX/ 4. Pasted this file in the Client PC ////My Documents/ SimLauncher X 5. Checked the Run as Admin button in Client SimLauncher.exe 6.Closed and then restarted SimLauncher X on the client. Hi, I am under the impression the parking symbols are way too big. Depending on zoom, they can obscure the whole airport. Little blue dots would be sufficient. Should be easy to implement, if others agree. Kind regards, Michael

Hi Maarten - It happened again - was in full map mode, selected show AI - ai display - system freeze - hard reset. Can't see how to attach log so I cut/pasted. I started SLx and then P3d - I shut down P3D to make a cfg change and left SLX running - started P3D again - shut it down once more and then restarted and flew. SLX was on second monitor. Dear SLX users, There seems to be some confusion about the purpose and use of the profiles. Profiles are used to configure the simulator before it has started. Once the simulator has started, selecting a different profile has no influence on the simulator at all when launching a flight. Selecting a different profile while the simulator is running, will however load flights and flight plans from the folders you specified in the newly selected profile. When applying a profile, the configuration file, scenery.cfg file, dll.xml file etc. that you selected for the profile are copied over the originals (after making a backup). Hello, the steps I do: 1. create a new flight 1a. rename the new flight 2. go to profile tab and edit scenery.cfg to activate/deactivate sceneries 2a. hit save 3. go back to my new profile and set the airport from where I want to depart But there is the problem: I still see the default afcad file for the airport, so I'm unable to select the correct parking spot. Even after restarting I don't see SimLauncher using the correct selected scenery. I also checked the scenery.cfg if he writes the right value and he does that... What do I wrong?

Hi, while the Performance Monitor runs excellent on the Server machine it crashes with a fatal error when called on my client. Might well be an issue with access rights, too. Just for the record. Kind regards, Michael

I am so happy with this addon that I barely dare to ask for a small modification. Is it possible to exclude default airport symbols on the map but keeping all addon airports? I really love this nice feature that some addon airports are displayed with different colors depending on manucfacturer. Maybe there should be an additional color for all other non-default airports. Hi, here's the last one for now. Making profiles etc. works well. However, what about integrating differences if additional scenery is installed or changes in the prepar3d.cfg are made during flight? SimStarter, while lacking most of the bells and whistles of SimLauncherX, has clever procedures for taking care of such changes. At present, installation of add-on scenery would require adding the new scenery to any one of the different scenery.cfg files, at worst (if it's for global usage, at least). Moreover, I would prefer to have at least one master scenery.cfg file containing all scenery (this is bound to the default profile at present). Just in case... Thi…

Hi, I think an even more granular approach with separate threads for bugs/wishes would be of even more help. So I'll begin. I would like to use SimLauncherX in a Client Server Environment. While I could get the Client to connect, build the database and run as a Moving Map, I can't start the Simulator (Prepar3d2) using the batch file form the Client. I already reported this to Maarten via PM, and as always he's quite dedicated to get the supposedly delicate issue to be solved. Hi Marteens, FYI, since the latest version the update button crashes the App.. Thanks for your awesome work! (Windows 8.1 x64) Well, I just killed the software in the task Manager and reloaded it. Now, the Update button works perfectly. Sorry for the alert! ;-)
