Hi How can I select a flight plan after FSX has already started and in flight? I start sim launcher and then I'm unable to access the "windows" box inside sim launcher as its always greyed out so Im unable to select "flight plans" hope I make sense Thanks in advance

Can SimLauncher be used from another computer in an networked configuration with WideServer or SimConnect ? Does anybody know anything about this ? Regard Stein

I tried SimLauncherX today, it looks great and the features are awesome... but it uses way too much resources, I have 8GB RAM and it seems that SLX runnung ALONE uses sometimes 50% of RAM ^^ No way to think about starting an Aerosoft A320 or the PMDG NGX after SLX. It crashed two times. First crash was SLX running alone and I just wanted to zoom in the map. Second crash was with FSX running. I started with the default Trike in FlyTampa LOWW (i wanted to change to the Aerosoft A320 after scenery load) !! DONT GET IT WRONG !! I dont want to blame anyone or this great looking software! But I was very surprised to see so much fails because it looks as it is runnin…

Hiya Just installed Simlauncherx and was wondering if it can start FSX using .bat file i am using to get around the vsync issue in window mode? To confirm, i use fsx.bat instead of fsx.exe when starting FSX The setup only shows a folder to find fsx.exe not actually point to a file Thanks Paul Ignore me, just found it :-)

hello I have found on a number of time that after starting P3d via Simlauncher that the selected aircraft is trotting off down the runway or across the airfield if I select a parking area to start from,when checking in the aircraft system folder I find that,in the engine area various sliders have moved to positions not set by me I leave all things in the systems folder closed and off,do I have a ghost flyer or as my Doctor say,s its an age related problem ,also I when tick to set for the program to minimize in the setting tab, it does not,I think that the Simlauncer screen will minimize to the task bar when I click the fly now button,am I not understanding this function…

Hi Maarten, i can't edit the cruising alt in flightplan with the keyboard. I'm just able to change it with the cursor-keys or the arrow-buttons within 500 ft steps, unlike the cruise speed below that field, where i can direct input a value. Thanks, Walter.

Hello Maarten, I used to be able to rotate the red plane symbol with the scroll wheel of my mouse. That doesn't seem to work anymore. Is there a new method to rotate the plane? Regards, Gerry

Hi Maarten, I've been having an issue with Simlauncher's KML import function. I'm perhaps getting one pushpin displayed, and all other airports are just displaying the name and no pin marker. I can confirm that if I view the KML in Google Earth Pro, I see the pushpins as expected. The export is coming out of Simstarter. It used to be fine, I would get airports with their pushpin icon, but something's changed fairly recently. Any thoughts - what do you need to see in terms of logs from me? Thanks, Leo

Hi Maarten, I have a few questions about flight plans. Whenever I create a new flight plan, the "New Flight Plan" row appears at the bottom of my list and is partially blocked so as I barely have enough space to click the + sign and open it. When I have created a new flight plan, and I attempt to rename it, I can"t do this until after I save it. My questions are: Is it possible for you to establish the "New Flight Plan" row at the top of the flight plan list instead of the bottom? If you cannot do this, how is the re-indexing of the flight plans accomplished? The only way I know is to restart the program an then the flight plan appears in alphabetical o…

Hi Maarten Another quick question if you don't mind. Is it possible to set up a profile with 2 different airports minimum zoom levels? I would like a profile with orbx airports filtered to say zoom level 6 as there are not many of them. However I would also like a profile of unfiltered airports to zoom level 9. Many thanks John

Hi Maarten Is there any way to change an aircraft variation that is displayed when "show all variations" is unticked. I have been playing around with the filters but I am struggling. What I am trying to do is have say variation "A" displayed instead of variation "B". I have changed the order in the aircraft.cfg file, but that did not help. Many thanks John

Hi Maarten, when i start SLX it shows me my default flight with its choosen aircraft. Then i switch to the aircraft tab and select a defferent plane. If i then want to see the details on the detail tab i only see the details of the original aircraft. If i switch to the map view, pointing on the red flight aircraft icon, the new selected aircraft is shown correct. That means, the flight aircraft has changed, so i also expected that the plane on the flight page would be changed. Greetings, Walter.

Hi Maarten Do you know if it is possible to assign a keystroke to maximise and minimize SLX? What I would like to do is assign a keystroke to allow this and then map it to my yoke so that I can bring SLX up with a push of a button. I am unsure if Windows will allow this. Hi SLX users, SLX is compatible with FSX Steam Edition if: FSX:SE is installed and FSX boxed edition is not installed: just change the folder settings (Home tab, Settings) to point to the appropriate folders FSX:SE is installed side by side with FSX boxed edition (even is FSX boxed edition is uninstalled later on): create a hard link to the fsx-se.cfg file in the %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX-SE folder and name this hard link fsx.cfg. A hard link can be created from the command line by using the mklink command or (to make life a little easier) use the Link Shell Extension made by Hermann Schinagl. SLX will access this fsx.cfg file, but the hard link will make sure fsx-s…

Hi Maarten, when i execute SLX it always starts with zoomlevel 'City'. The toggle for 'Show taxiways' is set to on. At this state the taxiways are not shown in the map. If i zoom into 'Neighbourhood' and then back to 'City' the taxiways appear. Greetings, Walter.

Hello Maarten, I recently installed OZx NA airports along with the OZx libraries. They show up in the scenery list in FSX. I've rebuilt the FSX database in SimLauncherX but the airfields don't display with the brown airport symbol indicated in the manual. They appear with the default blue airport symbol. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks, Gerry

Hello Maarten, When I filter airports or aircraft should the filter conditions carry over in the next session of SimLauncherX? I often have to re-apply the filters when I reopen SimLauncherX. Also, I was wondering if the runway "surface" column could be added to the airport columns so one could filter for "water surface" for seaplane airports? Thanks, Gerry

Hi Maarten, if i switch to display the parking symbols some of the symbols looking right, some symbols are rotated or resized. They also seems to be a little misplaced. If i move the mouse above the wrong sized symbols they turn into the right size. Example: P.S. In my opinion the symbols are looking better, if they were not rotated. PPS: I just have seen, the symbols are in the same place as the aircraft in the simulator, so they are at the correct place. Hi Maarten, i just tried the measure mode on the map tab. At first it differs a little bit from your GIANT user guide on page 110. There is no Stop-Button as described, only the toggle named "Start". The 1. Bug is: You switch into measure mode and then draw some lines into the map. Then you hit ESC and "Clear" and get an alert "Object reference not set....". You press the OK-Button and SLX will close. The other: You switch to measure mode, draw some lines and hit ESC. Then press the "Start" Button to end the measure mode. This works OK, but the just drawn lines were cleared. Greetings, Walter

Hi Maarten, at first i have to thank you for the very nice and useful work SimLauncher/SimLauncherX! My problem: Using P3D v2.4 and SimLaucherX v1.1.5510.5198 In SimLauncherX i choose a location (Airport and Gate) and then i launch P3D. The sim starts and shows this: You can see, the plane is right of the yellow line. Than i choose the same spot in the P3D menu: Now the plane is at the right place: This misplacement also happens if i choose a runway: I'm only working with stock airports. I have installed slx and used a couple of hours with the program, the manual and p3d. Before getting more frustrated and confused, I would like to know if I can do the following : launch slx/ create a new flight / make a flightplan for the flight with various airports and waypoints / save the flight with flightplan/ launch P3D with the flight and flightplan/ fly. I am a new user and have installed and updated to the most current version of SimLauncherX (vs 1.1.5500.34658) running in FSX on a fairly recent Alienware system running system 7. I am attempting to set-up Active Sky Next by setting up the path to the ActiveSky weather data folder per the set-up instructions pdf (1.1). The path appears to be set-up correctly however I can not deselect "Do not specify ActiveSky weather data folder": In other words the X remains. Hi there I saw a friend of mine use simlauncherX so I downloaded it from Avsim. After Installation I get an error with the Splash Screen saying "HiddenWindows.simlauncherx.exe Application Error" with some message about an exception occurring. I uninstalled, re-downloaded Microsoft framwork4.5, restarted the system then reinstalled and the error is still there. please kindly advise.
