<p>
	I have a "feeling" that given SimLauncherX's installation and setup options that it should bolt up just fine with Prepar3D V5.
</p>

<p>
	However, I am not so confident it will be able to support both V4.5 and V5 at the same time. Perhaps a different user ID? Actually, that's probably not a bad idea - keep things completely separate.
</p>

<p>
	Thoughts?

	Hi,

<p>
	I have been using SimLauncherX for many, many years. Now, since a few months ago, the map does not show up any more. Airports, VORs etc. are visible, but there is no map in the background, just a flat white background.
</p>

<p>
	I have tried a number of things: reinstalled completely, even tried MapBox, but I cannot fix it. Any ideas?
</p>

<p>
	Thank you.

<p>
	P.S.: I take it that Maarten has stopped supporting and developing SimLauncherX. That's really sad, since it is a great program.

<p>
	Since I use it with the same PC somewhere with no connection, I can't display a map except frontiers. I read there are files for different maps in appdata folder (...AppData\Local\TelerikMapCache\OpenStreetMapProvider). I found them (108 files) on another PC while it was empty on the PC with no maps. So, I copied and pasted these files but it's still the same thing, no map. What can I do to use it offline and having a map.

<p>
	I decided to try out SLX after seeing all the things it could do and seeing some of the good reviews it was getting.  I installed it, pointed it to my P3D v4 install and off I went.  I noticed that after installing the program, my sim ran far less smooth than it once had before having installed it, so I poked around my Prepar3d.cfg file to find that it made changes without my knowledge.  Luckily I had a backup and reverted to that.  After realizing the changes it made, I decided to uninstall SLX because there was nothing that said it would edit my config or even make a backup before doing so.  It did indeed make a backup, though it was a backup of its own changes instead of a backup of what my config was before it made any changes.
</p>

<p>
	That being said, ever since I uninstalled SLX and reverting the config changes, my sim still runs noticeably rougher than it previously had and does some very odd things.  Does SLX make any other changes?  If so, what are they, and how can I revert those changes?  How can I get my sim to be exactly as it was prior to installing SLX?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.

<p>
	Hi, first of all i want to congratulate you for this wonderful app you created! <img alt=":biggrin:" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.avsim.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" srcset="" title=":biggrin:" width="20" data-src="https://dev.avsim.com/files/forum/emoticons/biggrin.png"></p>

<p>
	Now let me explain my problem in short words: i can not make it to work on my client PC! I'm using P3d4 (v4.1)...and everything seems to work flawlessly on my server PC (the one where P3d is installed)...I followed your step by step guide on the manual but I am only able to connect the client slx  to the server by starting slxserver on my server PC... and i can also start p3d from my client PC... but it won't connect to the simulator then (the second "traffic light" red light wont turn green...) The folders are correctly set (both on server and on client PCs) all simconnect files are correctly made and put in the correct folders... all folders have been correctly shared and all the permissions setup are done... i just can't really understand where the problem is! As I said before i read your step-by-step guide for the correct installation on my server and client PCs but it seems not working for me (at least not on my client PC) If I open the simlauncherx.log on my client PC it seems that everything is working good except when i try to connect to the simulator , when it says "IP-address 192.168.1.8 not found"... but this is indeed my server IP address, and the one written on the simconnect.xml file! <img alt=":blink:" data-emoticon="" height="20" src="https://www.avsim.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" srcset="" title=":blink:" width="20" data-src="https://dev.avsim.com/files/forum/emoticons/blink.png"> The only thing i can do now is sharing with you my settings files... and maybe you will understand if there is a mistake.
</p>

<p>
	Those are my simlauncher settings and logs files on my server PC:

<p>
	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	The <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/x84j5wsd7ps412m/SimLauncherX.msi?dl=0" rel="external">latest release</a> of SimLauncherX seems to be compatible with P3Dv4 out of the box. You just need to change the simulator settings in the Global settings and make sure all your P3D profiles point to the correct folders. The easiest thing to do is to delete the SimLauncherX.P3D.Settings.xml file, open the SimLauncherX.Profiles.xml file and delete all your P3D profiles, start SLX, create your P3D settings and profiles and rebuild the database.
</p>

<p>
	Unfortunately it is not (yet) possible to use P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 side by side within SLX. I will try to make this possible, just as I have done with FSX and FSX-SE.
</p>

<p>
	If you find any issues with P3Dv4, please let me know.
</p>

<p>
	thanks, Maarten

<p>
	Hi Marteen,
</p>

<p>
	I have just purchased an aircraft for FSX thru Steam.
</p>

<p>
	This is steam Download Content (DLC) which, however is not installed in the usual  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Steam installs each one in  a separate numbered directory stream below "DLC" e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\DLC\379575\SimObjects\Airplanes.
</p>

<p>
	This more convoluted routing is not picked by SLX's database builder. While it appears possible to fool SLX by dropping another copy of the files from the DLC sub folder stream into the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder, I don't know yet if this may have an adverse impact on FSX itself. Can this be fixed?
</p>

<p>
	NB when SLX is running alongside FSX when an aircraft is not loaded in the SLX database, SLX goes into an endless loop flashing up error message after error message advising that this is the case.
</p>

<p>
	Regards,
</p>

<p>
	Michael

<p>
	Hello.  This is my first post as I have just learned of Simlauncher literally moments ago.
</p>

<p>
	Excitedly I downloaded the latest version, and all seems to go well (once I tell Avast to go "F" itself) but the program seems to lock up during the "Creating P3Dv4 database" on NL2000 v4.0 EHAL every time.  I have attempted this three times now.  It flies through the creation until it hits EHAL, then just freezes up.
</p>

<p>
	The timer on the window is always under a minute when it reaches EHAL ... as I type this it is currently sitting at 8 minutes and still stuck on that airport :(
</p>

<p>
	Is there a way to force the program past this without uninstalling EHAL?  I am looking so forward to using this program as a moving map for my stream next week, so hoping to get past this by then.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance :)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong>EDIT</strong>:  Attaching the following video to assist and show better the issue I am having.
</p>

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo">
	<div>
		<iframe allowfullscreen="true" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://www.avsim.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" width="480" data-embed-src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/__wEuPa5Qcs?feature=oembed"></iframe>
	</div>
</div>

<p>
	<strong>EDIT 2</strong>:  Major omission on my part ... i forgot my PC specs.  Sorry.
</p>

<ul>
<li>
		The system is Windows 10, with Admin Privileges and, of course, UAC gutted from the system.
	</li>
	<li>
		Intel Core i7 3.33 GHz Black Edition overclocked to 4 GHz
	</li>
	<li>
		Asus ROG 1080 Strix graphics card
	</li>
	<li>
		64 GB Gskill Ripjaws memory
	</li>
</ul>
<p>
	Also, I have assured that SimLauncherX is set to run as Administrator.  With the program still open and hanging at EHAL, there are no errors in the log.  The final line in the log is currently:
</p>

<pre class="ipsCode prettyprint lang-html prettyprinted">
<span class="pln">20170922202919    Processing scenery layer: Area.195, NL2000 v4.0 EHAL</span></pre>

<p>
	No errors or lines after that.
</p>

<p>
	If you need more specific specs, let me know, but those are the important specs related to processing and performance which would most likely be a factor in an issue such as this.
</p>

<p>
	Again, thanks.

<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I just started to use SLX, it seems nice but a bit complex to me. I still don't find very intuitive though, have to look for options and stuff all the time (even though I read the manual), but I'm slowly getting to know it better.
</p>

<p>
	Yesterday I tried flight planning, but I had troubles with understanding its logic. Can't write ICAO codes for dep. and arr. airports in the little boxes next to the plans name or even in the boxes down at the details, drag and drop not working as I thought it should, flight planner tries to plan a route between two airports through my planes current (random) position (do I have to move my plane first to the departure airport?) etc., so all in all I have mixed experiences with user friendliness so far.
</p>

<p>
	But the main problem is now, that after rebuilding the aircraft/scenery library again (installed a new scenery), SLX crashes every time after started (right when the little donation windows appears in the corner, I don't know if there is any connection to this or just a coincidence). I tried the repair function of the installer, but the problem is still there.
</p>

<p>
	Should I delete everything in the documents\simlauncherx folder to let itself setup again? Or do I have to reinstall it again?
</p>

<p>
	Oh and one more thing. I think the launcher icon handling also needs an update. I added now a dozen icons to the launcher tab there which I want to start before I start P3D but I don't understand why can't I reorder them in any way I want? If I want to put the most important icons in the upper row, then I have to literally play a puzzle game, because now first the first 2 columns are filled then the next 2, and so on. And when I finally reordered them to my taste I see next time that some icons went back to their old position...
</p>

<p>
	Hope you don't take my critics personally, I think it can be a great software after dealing with the bugs and you're awesome sharing it for free. I've seen much worse softwares sold for a lot of money...
</p>

<p>
	I have many ai...files and it would a long time to go through each aircraft cfg file...is there an easy way to find which ones are active and those removed?

<p>
	I've installed your very excellent program. I mainly installed to 'fix' the AI traffic for P3DV4. When<i> </i>I ran your Misc-&gt;Fix AI tool, it removed the [fltsim.0] section in all of the IVAO_MTL aircraft config files.
</p>

<p>
	Because of this, PSXseeconTraffic can no longer use these AI (the VMGenerator program disregards any aircraft config files missing this section). The AI_liveries.txt file does not have any of the IVAO_MTL AI aircraft listed.
</p>

<p>
	Below is one of the removed sections, which were saved in the aircraft.cfg.slx.bak file.

	I'm curious if this is intentional or a possible mistake?

<p>
	Lastly, without having to copy and paste all of the entries back into some 100 - 200 files, is there an easy way to put this section back in?

	Hi Maarten,
</p>

<p>
	Just installed the latest update. The logbook manager seems to be freezing the SLX program when selected (after you have chosen logbook.bin) can only close  SLX with Task Manager, so not sure if this working before the update, as I was just trying out all the buttons :-)
</p>

<p>

<p>
	Hi Maarten,
</p>

<p>
	I use the latest version of SLX (SimLauncherX_5.9.6452.11)
</p>

<p>
	Now, I have 2 problems using the map (See below)
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="slx-pb.jpeg" class="ipsImage" height="562" src="https://www.avsim.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" width="1000" data-src="http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/img/members/6381/slx-pb.jpeg"></p>

<p>
	In 1, no situation is indicated.
</p>

<p>
	In 2, when I click on the left part of the button, no maps styles are presented, contrary to previous versions. I can only change the map style via the General settings of SLX. And furthermore; OpenstreetMap style is not listed in the choices in this case.
</p>

<p>
	So, what is going here? Same issued with the previous version (SimLauncherX_5.9.6446.27842)
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.
</p>

<p>
	Patrice.

<p>
	I've installed SimlauncherX version 5.9.6452.11. It found P3dV4 and created the database without any problem. Under GLOBAL SETTINGS, I clicked on the FSX-SE tab and it automatically found all of the correct folders. However, how do I actually choose FSX-SE so that when I click rebuild ALL it creates the FSX-SE databases?
</p>

<p>
	It looks like it will delete the P3DV4 database (the TOOLS-&gt;Start P3dV4 icon is shown...).
</p>

<p>
	It doesn't appear I can actually change to a different SIM within SimlauncherX...
</p>

<p>
	Downloaded your program.  Ran it a couple of times then saw there was an update so downloaded and installed v5.9.6444.37686.  Now it will not start up and gives me the error message Unable to Initialize Database Simlauncher will now close.  Any idea what went wrong?

<p>
	Hi Maarten,
</p>

<p>
	Some issues with SLX with P3DV4 (I fly around England (ORBX stuff) in a liner (PMDG B737).
</p>

<p>
	1.--, with some airplanes (one version of F22 raptor for instance, but some other ones also), the symbol displayed on the map is as this one.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="personnage-simLauncherX.jpg" class="ipsImage" src="https://www.avsim.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/img/members/6381/personnage-simLauncherX.jpg"></p>

<p>
	I do not understand why. Do you have an explanation?
</p>

<p>
	2.--: The planes displayed for AI planes traffic are almost completely wrong: It is always a F22 raptor plane displayed despite my AI traffic (when displayed via Plan-G for instance) shows many commercial planes and no military ones. So, There is a problem here, I think (I use "My traffic6a" as AI traffic generator)
</p>

<p>
	3.--: SLX does not detect the airplanes that are added via add-on.xml files in the "P3DV4 add-ons" directory (they are not under "simobjects" (A2A planes for instance)). I had to move them under "simobjects" in order SLX to see them.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks.
</p>

<p>
	Patrice.
