I've noticed that the fsx.cfg, dll.xml, etc. files in AppData\Roaming have been altered from the originals. In fact if I select FSX from my desktop I get a Profile 2 splashscreen which doesn't the one I have specified in SIMstarted. What I'm wondering is if there could be an option, that could be be checked that would automatically restore the core files in the AppData, ProgramData, etc. folders to the master profile. This would enable the ability to occasionally use another program, such as SimLauncherX or do a non-SIMstarter launch of FSX. Currently, once you've elected to use SIMstarter, your original configuration files are no longer easily available. I…

Hi, I found out that some planes have a strange behaviour by using them in a saved flight with P3Dv3. It started with the A2A planes (I am using C182 myself) but seems to be the same with build in planes like the Piper Cub (sometimes). With the A2A C182 it is 100% reproduceable (but seems not to be a A2A related problem from my point of view?!) SIMstarter Quickstart is using saved flights to handle the selection of another plane or situation. For that reason I recommend NOT TO USE SIMstarter Quickstart or loading a saved flight with P3Dv3 at the moment. As I said it is not a SIMstarter related problem but looks like a problem with P3Dv3 itself (users of P…

Currently, unless I missed it, Simstarter only scans the aircraft in the default simobjects folder. With LM suggesting that addons be installed OUTSIDE of the default and referenced in the simobjects.cfg file - will future versions of Simstarter support these external folders. I can manually disable the various livieries but it is much more convenient to use Simstarter. Thanx, Vic

Hi guys, I just want to let you know about the latest SIMstarter development. Many users are asking me how to deal with the SceneryManager which is really hard to understand - if you are not the developer... ;O) Therefore I am developing a complete new SceneryManager with a better usability and overview. Features: Overview of all ScenerySets Groups (Spacers) available to easy activate or deactivate a group of Sceneries Add, Delete and edit Sceneries from Scenery.cfg Move Scenery order (with more than one selected Scenery) Insert Scenery at the selected cursor position Drag and Drop Scenery folders from outside (to easy add them) ... We are just working on …

Hello Peter, I have a question for XML Manager. Should not the standard exe.xml or dll.xml appear when I start the XML Manager? My "Master dll.xml" or "Master EXE.DLL" is empty. Use P3d v3 and SIMStarter 2.7 Greetings Ralf

I keep having to adjust some of my scenery order for profiles. Mostly with 3rd party airports, they get moved further down the list, and I have to move them back to the top. Also I'm a little confused at commenting or committing a change to the profile scenery after closing it. Is that typo in the software? I keep having to move them up again, seems to happen after I create a new profile maybe, but I'm not exactly sure that's why. Any ideas? thanks.

If you are a proud user of FTX great sceneries (most of you are), you could need to switch your regions in front of your flight. For that reason SIMstarter has an "FTX Central Reminder". I show you how to activate: Step 1: Set the path to FTXcentral.exe (should be found automaticly by the registry): Step 2: Click "Use FTX Central Reminder": Step 3: Simply start an SIMstarter profile and SIMstarter will ask you to run FTX Central in front of every SIMstarter changes:

Hi there, First of all. Many thanks for this powerful but very handy program. However I ran into a Unhandled exception when trying to use Jumpstart. The program settings are checked and seem okay. This is the error log after pressing " Jumpstart": Any pointers as to what is going wrong here? .

Firstly, thanks for a great program. I have setup 9 profiles and have set a different 'splash' screen for each profile, but no mater what profile I run the splash screen says 'profile 5', not sure what I have missed. Any ideas? Many thanks

Hi Your program is very good but I find that when I use "Override starting position" in Prepar3d V2.5 the plane will allways start in the ocean. If I use "Show position in GoogleEarth" with a new start position then the plane will be shown at the original saved files position and not the override starting position. Ken

I am currently using multiple external scenery.cfg files, with names such as orbxscenery.cfg (dedicated to Orbx flying) and otherscenery.cfg (for non-Orbx flying). I have set up an Orbx profile in SimStarter, specifying the use of orbxscenery.cfg as the external scenery.cfg to use. I also enabled the FTX Central prompt, to allow me to run FTX Central when starting up my Orbx profile. It appears that SimStarter currently is not copying orbxscenery.cfg file to scenery.cfg, before running FTX Central. When I switch between FTX Global and regions using FTX Central, FTX Central will update the scenery.cfg file. But that scenery.cfg hadn't yet copied over from orbxsc…

Hi, just installed SIMstarter and get myself familiar with different features. Unfortunately the Jumpstarter doesn't work ("No standard flight"). Tried the hint from previous version with opening/closing livery manager - without success. Could you pls give advice? Regarding the manual(s): As a reference "Chapter 0" is mentioned in chapter 4 "Opening screen" - where is it? Can't find a chapter 0. Best wishes Matthias

Hi all, I have a minor issue with SIMStarter: each time I start SIMStarter after a complete shutdown, it opens a window giving me a growing list of things changed in FSX.cfg and whether or not I would like to include those changes into my profiles. BUT: the list even shows things I certainly never changed inside my FSX.cfg and it also constantly grows. Furthermore, after the first start of FSX, the window does not show up until I did again a complete reboot. What is it? Do I miss some settings? Are my paths not properly set? Could I disable this informal window completely (not recommended, I would miss the "real" changes)?

I use the Scenery Config Editor to manage my scenery....reason is I can turn on and off just one airport easily without worrying about scenery profiles (even though they are a very cool feature of SimStarter). So I see in the intro video that you entered that manager but how do you actually use it when launching Simstarter ?

Hi, First of all, thank you very much for all your effort on SimStarter, it's always been my favorite utility for FSX. However, I got strange waterclass/ texture only when FSX start via SimStarter, so I'm guessing it could be part of the configuration is being ignored or not being write correctly, however not sure which and where to make the correction. Can you please give me some advise of what I should check for solution please. Addons: REX 4 texture direct FTX Global Vector FS Global 2010 FTX Thank you!

Hi, I did start some maintenance on my P3D 2.5 (due to a former api.dll crash) and deleted the P3D.cfg. I setup a new default flight and changed some settings per simmershome. All was fine. Then I started to use Simstarter 2.6 and now most acft in the P3D vehicle menue are gone. Even after uninstalling Simstarter and using the backup CFG. Any idea what went wrong? Cheers

I just started using SIMstarter and, I have to say, it's great. Splitting up my scenery alone has saved substantial VAS and load time. Some questions: After I start FSX with SIMstarter once, can I just double click on FSX to load the last configuration used by SIMstarter? E.g. it will use the same settings from the last run? If I add a new scenery (e.g. UTX2 or an airport), how do I add it to the scenery sets? What is the best use of the Master scenery? Is that for all of your base scenery (Orbx Global, UTX, etc.) or is it for the master list of all the scenery you own? If I have a scenery in two different scenery sets and load both, does SIMstarter sort it out …

Hello. I've been checking out this application and wondering something. I pretty much fly only 4 different airplanes. The PMDG 737NGX, Aerosoft Airbus X, Majestic Q400 or the PMDG 777. I also never use the "startup screen" in flight sim(FSX or now P3D). When I launch the sim, I start my next flight from the last airport I arrived at previously. I also always do a reboot in between flights too. So, my default flight is always set to Previous Flight. I'm curious as to how this would work with SimStarter if I were to say fly the NGX into an airport. Park, shutdown. Close the sim. Then decide I want to the next leg to be in the Aerosoft Airbus X. Can SimStar…

Hi, forgive me if this is going to be a silly question....but...after I create a profile, when I quit the profile settings section, using "close profile settings", all changes are lost....i.e. if I open the profile again evertything has reset to default. Am I overlooking something ? Thanks
