SIMstarter

Hi there, I have recently installed Simstarter on my second laptop. I opened it and did all my relevant settings. When I say run profile it loads me into the sim start screen. I then click on settings and customize and then to change my screen resolution and to set antialiasing on etc.. I then click on fly and when I exit the sim and then run the profile through flight sim again and look at my resolution it's reset to normal values again.. My other laptop doesn't have this issue.. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

I have had to redo some Profiles but i cannot get SimStarter to stop loading a flight. I want the sim to open up on the Scenario page but SimStarter is opening P3D and loading a flight. My previous Profiles were set where although i had entered into SStarter a default flight it would open P3D on the Scenario page with my default flight airport in the Scenario page. I have ticked for Show scenario in the SStarter General settings, but when I click on my profile shortcut it changes the P3D cfg to show this. I’ve worked “several hours” together with Günter Steiner to release version 2.0 of FSXstarter soon. A lot of feedback and wishes of FSXstarter users have been realized in that new version. I decided to rename “FSXstarter” to “SIMstarter” because the new version will be capable for FSX and PREPAR3D v2.x. The most important feature in my mind is SIMstarter will recognize, if any changes “outside of SIMstarter” has been done in fsx.cfg or prepar3d.cfg. Hi Pero, Love the new NG. The problem I'm having is the Turbine Duke doesn't show up in the aircraft list. I'm guessing it's because RealAir installed it outside of the P3D 3.x folder? Gregg

Some days ago Aerosoft released the successor of my well know freeware SIMstarter. From this point, the support for SIMstarter freeware will be stopped in general. I hope for your understanding, because I run the Hobby parallel to family and a full time job and can not take care of two such projects. Hallo Peter! Ich lese im Flusinews, dass es einen neue Version des Simster gibt, die Ver NG. Ich lese allerdings auch, dass nur jene die die eine Spende vor dem 22.02.2016 gemacht haben, ein kostenlose Update erhalten. Abgesehen davon, dass die Info erst gestern erschienen ist, ich die Spende am 27.02.2016 getätigt habe (8M3600193L........), wäre ich damit automatisch von einem kostenlosen Update ausgeschlossen. I am sorry for the delay. Some users reported strange behavior of the ORBX region switch in combination with the ScenerySets. Therefore I reverted to the execution logic that me had prior version 2.7.0. Another bug is fixed that moved the SIMstarter window at the background after visiting the SceneryManager. Dear Peter, I am just configuring version 2.7 for FSX, and when I click on the "edit profile" button I get an unhandled exception error. After ignoring this message and clicking the second time, the dialog opens and seems to work fine. If this has no other effect than that I must cklick twice when editing a profile, I'm fine. I have had an issue where SIMstarter will not modify the scenery.cfg file no matter what profile or scenery sets I choose. scenery_lastSIMstarterProfileRun.cfg is being written correctly, but it is not being copied over to scenery.cfg. I have a feeling it may have to do with the OrbX region switching

Hallo Peter, my problem with SimStarter is: I cannot use the FSX feature of different FSX.CFG names. Here is my explanation of this useful feature: You can start FSX with an EXE-name like "FSX_xyz.EXE". That program call, calls the related "FSX_xyz.CFG" AND (this is important) the related FSUIPC INI "FSUIPC_xyz.INI" also !! That means, I can configure special configurations identified by "xyz" . And now SimStarter comes into play. With Simstarter I can configure all possible personal FSX configurations, and that is pretty good, but I cannot do what I described before. I downloaded SIMstarter 2.7.4 yesterday, and I am having problems getting started. I have configured the program as suggested but some anomalies are showing up. I initially installed it through the zip file, eventually deleted it and I have now installed it with the executable file from the web site. The JumpStart window is higher than the screen height and initially I can scroll down and find the FlyAway button. But after a while with the zip installation, the window became bigger and I could no longer scroll down to the FlyAway Button, it is hidden below the screen edge – that was when I uninstalled the zip version. Hello, I can't select custom splashscreens anymore. The button "Don't use Splashscreen" is ticked and greyed out. So I thought being smart and changed the profile cfg file parameter (disableSplashScreen=1 to 0) restarted Simstarter and noticed that the "Don't use Splashscreen" is still ticked and greyed out. And in the cfg the parameter was again reset todisableSplashScreen=1. What am I doing wrong here?

Greetings and Happy New year, I have a profile that places the PMDG 777 at FlyTampa CYYZ. I recently opened SimStarter and ran that profile. I got the splash screen, the progress bar for about a second, and then then nothing. Prepar3D was still running. The first couple of times the error was (paraphrase) "could not create child window". After that, same issue, no error message. I opened a different profile (Aerosoft Airbus A320 at FSDT CYVR) and the result was the same as above. If I set the profile to open the scenario screen and run either the the CYYZ or CYVR flights, I still lost the window. The only way around it was to set the default flight to t…

I have a screen that runs at 1920 x 1024 x 32 but when I start FSX via SimStarter the resolution is always set to 1280 x 720 x 32. I have looked at the FSX.cfg file and the settings in it are for the higher resolution and when I start FSX directly the screen resolution starts at the higher resolution. I guess I have missed something but cant see what it is. Any help would be just great.

Hi Pero Your new v2.7.0 is a definite winner. Thanks for looking at the bug in Jumpastart in the southern hemisphere. I would just like to note that at the moment I cannot find anywhere in the options in the Orbx tab to enable "hybrid" mode. This is a fairly important option when using any Orbx scenery and I was wondering if you could implement it at a later date. At he moment to either turn hybrid on or off you have to go into Orbxs FTX central and do it manually which seems to kill the whloe idea of being able to adjust your regions within SimStarter. After upgrading my P3D from V3.0 to V3.1 Simstarter don't work well. By starting Simstarter i get an errormessage; it says : Kan bestand D:\Prepar3D v3\Uires\dlgsplash_academic.bmp niet vinden. and in deed, there is no map D:\Prepar3D v3\Uires any more !!??

Not sure if anyone else has the same problem. But after configuring the [AContain] section in the P3D Config.exe inside Simstarter, my configuration does not get applied consistently during gameplay. Specifically I choose ShowLabelAirline=1, ShowLabelFlightPlan=1, and ShowLabelModel=1. ShowLabelModel is available as a selection inside the game menu, so this one always shows during gameplay. However, the first two labels are only available as a selection in the cfg file, and do not always display during gameplay. When they do not show, the AI Aircraft only has the Model showed and does not cycle through the other two labels. I have no idea why this happens except it could …

Just getting around to trying to use Simstarter with P3D v3. Works just great with FSX. I have removed every instance of P3D v2 from my computer yet when I try to launch it complains that it is trying to start P3D v2 and the file does not exist. Is there any way to get simstarter to load this aircraft into the livery manager ?

Not sure if me, or not, but if I select Tools -> Livery Manager -> Open Aircraft Folder I get a "unhandled exception" dialog. "Object variable or With block variable not set." It's critical, but I wanted to let you know in case I wasn't the only one getting this. Windows 7 - MS:FSX

remote starter works fine on first remote client. but the trigger file does not start the second remote client apps. both work fine individuall. is there any way to have it trigger the apps on the second remote client pc also?
