P3D4.5 fails to load with Simstarter and complex add onsons

For some reason if I try to load a complex add on, like PMDG 777 or the Maddog MD82, P3D gets so far loading and then just quits. It loads fine if using a basic aircraft or default one. Unfortunately the P3D loading progress indicator changes so fast that I cannot catch what point it got to. It seems to get about 80% through the load.

Duplicate File Names

Newbie to Simstarter here. I am getting an error message "Duplicates TITLE found" (see https://www.dropbox.com/s/ennem97r7zc7szl/duplicate.png?dl=0). The next screen is the scenery Manager showing the Purple problem files. These are all ORBX files and all entries were made by ORBX Central using the ORBX Library. I have not modified them in anyway. Did ORBX make a mistake in naming or there any issue on my end? While there is an 'auto correct' prompt, I don't know what SimStarter will do in correcting it.

Running a task after sim closes

I am wondering if there's a capability in SIMStarter to run a task after the sim is closed (shutdown). utLive2 always place the add-on.xml in the P3D5 Addons folder and I have separate folder for addons, this creates a conflict and P3D confuses utlive2 as a new addon. So I have to always delete the folder from P3D5 Addons folder as utlive2 recreates it each time the sim starts.

I want to have a delete folder task after the sim closes, is there such a function in SIMStarter?

Hello,

I have altered aircraft.cfg`s so that aircraft are listed according to their real manufacturers. Simstarter however uses developer A2A, Aerosoft etc. Can this be changed to manufacturer?

- Reduce loading time of P3D

Shutting down after exiting the sim

I cannot fly without simstarter now! awesome tool, I just have 2 quick questions please

1 - I use multiple addons together with my sim so I been able to start them all with simstarter and works super well, now if I want to open and close my sim few times maybe because im testing an aircraft or addon is there any option to shut down all the programs I use with the sim quick? p3d takes a few 30-60 seconds to shut down but other applications like chase plane, active sky, landing rate etc will stay open, please let me know if using sim starter I can shut down everything when exiting the sim

2 - how to disable planes that I never fly, for example all the defaults so the sim loads quicker? I been able to do it with the airports and sceneries but not with the aircrafts, thanks for any help

I have just reinstalled simstarterNG after a full reinstall of Prepar3d v 4.5

Now every time I open simstarter i get this message :-

Operator '(less than symbol) is not defined for type 'DBNULL' and string "9"

I can only quit the program..

Any ideas please?

Scenery Issues WSSS when starting P3D V4.4 with SimstarterNG

I use P3D 4.4. incl all ORBX Products and Pilot Ultimate Mesh 2018. After installing WSSS and starting the sim directly, everything ist fine. Layers and buildings seem to be okay. After that test I closed P3D. If I start the sim with SimstarterNG, I do have scenery Issues with WSSS (Imaginesim). The standard main airport building is showing in front of the 3rd Party WSSS Imaginesim Scenery and does not want to dissappear. I use the latest updates on all products.

In SimstarterNG I use the scenery.cfg fresh "imported" or "created" from P3D without any changes. But it doesn't matter at all. Tested this with changes and without them (enabling/disabling, row up, row down, disabling some WSSS layer elements, etc, etc.).

Desabling and enabling the scenery via the Addon XML, while the sim is running, does not seem to work to elimenate the problem.

After deleting and reinstalling the Imaginesim WSSS Airport, and starting the sim directly without SimstarterNG, everything is fine again.

Does anybody else have this problem too? After getting some feedback I would like to report and write at SimstarterNG Support. Thanks for helping out!

SimStarter settings are not saved correctly

Hello,

I've been using SimStarter NG for a while and it's been a huge help. But I have a problem with it.

Some settings keep reverting back to default every time I restart the software, especially values in the config file. Specifically these:

FXAA = OFF - keeps switching back to ON
PANELS_ALWAYS_ON_TOP = 0 - keeps switching back to 1
Mute on lost focus - keeps switching back to ON

It is very frustrating, especially the panels thing, because it's a fix for a CTD cause. When I forget to check if it's reverted and go flying, I get a crash mid flight.

I always press SAVE whenever I can. Why are the settings switched back automatically?

P3d Starts on 2nd Monitor

Using P3Dv4.2. Since I've started using SIMstarter, when I start the sim it will start on my second monitor about 50% of the time and I have to drag it back over to my main monitor. Don't know what I may have changed to cause this. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dll and exe backup

Hi,

Recently my windows drive crashed completely and I have had to reinstall both windows and p3dv4.2.

I also took the opertunity to upgrade to windows 10 pro.

Because I was having to do a complete reinstall of p3d I've been checking the dll files in both appdata and program data folders, and I noticed that the DLL.xml file in the appdata folder while also containing the file dll.xml.SIMstarterBackup and exe.xml.SIMstarterBackup are no different to the main DLL an EXE files

This is my current DLL.xml file

The program seems to start fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of time with the windows firewall on and off but this had made no difference

Huge simCfgBackup folder

I wanted to make a rar backup of my SIMstarter NG/data folder before full reinstall of Prepar3Dv4.2 when I discovered it was huge like almost 900Mb. Turned out simCfgBackup folder there was full of backups (363 items) since 2017/12/06 only!

Could anybody explain please what in SIMstarter triggered them to spawn like locust? If I'd like to save a backup of my latest SIMstarter settings do I need only one latest backup folder there? And how to stop SIMstarter to create them in hundreds?

How do you add addon.xml sceneries to the Simstarter scenery manager? I just installed SS and see that it scanned all my ORBX sceneries and airports, but not my Flightbeam and FSDT stuff. I'm hoping this isn't the 'by hand' method. What's the trick :>)

Suggestion: "kill" options on SimStart Client

Love SimStarter NG and have been using it for ages. Have it set up on two networked computers and run the client setup to get all my stuff launched in the right order etc. Whilst the main programme has a "kill" option to shut down associated programmes when you exit P3D, the client doesn't. Understand there could be difficulties in either needing a second version of a trigger file - alternatively, perhaps an option to "kill" applications on loss of connection ? (Running normally, I have never had this happen so that might be a proxy, particularly if it is an option that can be disabled for anyone that does run into trouble).

Hi,

I have version 1.6.4 (revision 12) installed and when I start the programme it notes that the latest version is 1.6.7 (revision 12). I'm running as Administrator. When I select "run update", a small window opens and says "up2date" - "Update not found on server!".

I can ignore the update and the programme works fine (but clearly I'm going to get left behind over time)

Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong here ?

I see SIMstarter makes it very easy to configure this aspect of running programs...

Anyone have any suggestions on how I should set this up ?

Which is AS config folder?

I have ASPv4 installed on a client. I'm trying to figure out how to make SIMstarter to "see" it there. I can show the network path to AS_P3Dv4.exe but I can't figure out which is the AS Config folder?

Anyway, does it make any sense do show SIMstarter where ASPv4 is installed when it is on a client PC?

Feature Request - mapped keys help ?

Hi Pero,

I'm finding new features every time I use this software - again - makes me wonder how I got by without it for so long...

I don't know about anyone else - one of my biggest chores in Flight Sim - is figuring out what keys are mapped where - especially when you have a new aircraft you want to setup - or a new tool - and your LOOKING for "unassigned" keys so you don't conflict with previously configured functions... Since you seem to be the obvious master of the config file - would it be possible to add a tool to SimStarter to help ? Obviously many people use more than one application with assigned keys - P3D - FSUIPC - CP - etc etc etc... If you could do anything to help alleviate the work involved with such a bothersome and tedious task - it would be MOST appreciated... Thanks for your consideration...

How to start programs as Administrator using Run Manager?

As the title says, I have used Run Manager to start ASN, Flying School, Chaseplane etc but I cant see how I can get them to run as administrator. I know I can pause their start and get them to shut down after the sim closes but some of the programs I want to run as admin, definitely fs flight school. is this possible?

I was extremely skeptical on this product - like I know how to start my sim - but after reading all the great reviews I took the plunge - and WOW - incredibly well done piece of kit - I don't know how I lived without it...

One question or suggestion - I'd really like to see the program minimized to the task bar upon launch of a session - is there a way to do that ???
