  4. Guys, Josh is booked in for two days early in May to film the content for the First Officer course. We've got some stuff already in the bag that we may or may not use, and we are now looking at what else we can include. We're realistically limited to around 10 hours to keep the download size in HD reasonable and for us to be able to keep the post production workload manageable. Already we have recorded a short Liverpool - Isle of Man line flight with winds gusting to 70kts, forcing us to perform a circle to land off the RWY 26 ILS onto the short runway there. This line flight includes a lot of information from Josh about handling the Q400 in windy conditions and…

Hello there and thank you to Airline2sim for your great videos! I really like how you are keeping the video simple, practice oriented and love those "Real pilot flying tips"! Moreover, the graphics quality is impressive. In fact, I have been asked a few times by some people not knowing flight simming if the video I was watching was really a simulator^^ Please allow me to ask a question about your graphics settings : What are your visibility setting in Active Sky Next for Upper and ground visibility? Thanks and keep up the good work for the next "First Officer" course! Best regards, Pierre

  7. Guys, the folks at ES have offered 20% off both their sceneries seen in the Airline2Sim Cadet course. Isle of Man is a complete rendition of the whole island with a detailed airport. The scenery is made up of custom autogen laid upon photo scenery. Guernsey is the same and there is now an update available from the the ES website to reflect changes to the airfield since the scenery was made, with new stand allocations, a new taxiway and an extension to the runway to allow larger aircraft to land. The code to use is : ES-Q400-Special Product page links are : https://earthsimulations.com/product/guernsey-3/ https://earthsimulations.com/product/isle-of-ma…

  9. Cadets, You may notice that the final reserve fuel is very generous for all our line flights - 920 kg - this is enough for 45 mins holding plus another 100ish kg for 'a bad day'. We did this for the Cadet training only because we didn't want to get into a fuel emergency situation with multiple go-arounds etc. but thankfully on the day my flying wasn't quite as terrible as I feared it could be, so we didn't need it. An EU ops FR figure for the Q400 is usually in the region of 450 kg, just for your info. We'll be using this figure for the First Officer and Captain's courses!

Hi airline2sim, I got this message today when attempting to log in. Any idea why this might be happening? I am using two different computers at home to watch the videos. Plus an iPhone plus at my girlfriends house I sometimes use her Mac to watch um (she's usually not amused). Is that something I shouldn't be doing. Jordan koulov

Just curious, but what exactly is the point of the ALT SEL button? The fact that they've put it in there suggests that there would be situations where you wouldn't want the AP to stop the climb or descent at the selected level, so can anybody tell me what those situations might be? It seems like the only reason to make you manually arm the level-off is to catch pilots out. Discuss

I'd be interested to hear more on the topic of calculating approach speeds. Nil wind / gusting wind etc & also how this is effected by landing weight etc Is there a simple rule to follow?

Just wondering if rudder trim is discussed in detail in any of the lessons, particularly during various phases of flight. I am currently part way through lesson #8 and so far there has only been a very quick mention of it in lesson 3 or 4. I am trying to figure out if the trim is something that is set on the ground before takeoff or just by feel in the air.

  19. Hi All, The ATC in the cadet training videos sounds good enough to be live. How is it simulated? Thanks in advance for your answer, Best, Lucky ///////////

Hi Ben, Could you please do us the favour of listing the add-ons (free and payware) you used in the Q400 training program. The scenery, weather and cabin sounds just were a big treat to my eyes and ears.

  21. Guys, one thing I have gained from the feedback so far is you guys seem to really like Josh. When we originally filmed the training, Josh and I did the flight deck tour together and he himself explained all the flight deck controls etc. This was chopped from the release version on timing grounds (it was two hours long) and also because my filming sucked. So we re-shot it with a voiceover giving a summary of what Josh said in the original, which was much shorter and to the point. I'm now wondering whether you guys would like to see the original version? It's nothing like as slick and won't have all the animations and boxes pointing to things, but for those of you inte…

As to why Josh does not like CDG ? I was just there last week and while the terminal was pure madness I found the field itself seemed to be fairly standard at least from a pax point of view.

I am considering this product but as a user of FS2Crew, I am just wondering how this fits in. Will it simply be obvious which items are handled by the FO and outside of that adjustment everything else convered is relevant to properly flying the Q400. Obviously the real pilots who fly this aircraft are doing so in a 2 crew configuration so I can only imagine Airline2Sim videos would complement the addition of FS2Crew. I would be interested in comments from the developers. thanks,
